Wanted to know if this was possible.My upgrade date is 7/12 this is but a phone that I want supposedly comes out in 10/12. Can I extend my contract without using the upgrade eligibility just so that my next upgrade comes 6/12 of 2012?

Anyone else getting emails and now text messages extolling the virtues of Froyo 2.2? Apparently they know that I haven't upgraded to their version of 2.2 and want me to upgrade...sorry not giving up my LFY!
View 16 Replies View Relatedi have a deadspot on my screen in the bottom left hand corner. so anytime i want to hit the Shift button or type "z" or "c" i have turn my phone sideways. then as soon as i start typing that way i have to turn my sideways again to type "m" or hit the NUM button.i signed a 2 year contract with Verizon after they convinced me to buy the Eris instead of the MotoDroid. after this one it will be my 3RD Eris. the earpiece in the first one died within a month and this one is the buggiest, slowest, most horrible batter life ever phone (not to mention a dead spot in the screen). are there any chances they'll upgrade me to a better phone and this p.o.s.? or when you bring it in to get it replaced do they just ship you a new crappy Eris?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have the original droid with 2.1 (still haven't got update) the phone has some problems like, restarting, cant update certain apps, unresponsive. i just got the phone in may 2010 an im starting to think its getting out dated. I once had it rooted to 2.2 but went back to stock for OTA 2.2 . But my question is, that do u think i can call verizon and tell them my problems, say its my 3rd droid and im getting tired of it. Since there not making the oringinal droid anymore do u think they'll let me upgrade to Droid X with little or no fee? i got the idea from another post, reading that someone had success with this trick?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am looking to upgrade my phone soon (likely in a few months) and would like to know which phone is best for me.I like my eris alot but due to it being fairly out dated id like a dinew phone. I want something faster and with a bogger screen, no physical keyboard, but not huge like the droid x, which i like but its simply too big to keep in my pocket or on my side. Price is not much of a deterent for me.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to preface all of the following by stating I love the Eris. The only reason I didn't buy an Incredible at full price was because of the nice form factor. I love the hardware buttons for end and send. I"m now on my 4th phone. 1st had a trackball issue, had it replaced at the store the following day. The 2nd had a bad GPS chip (that's what they explained it as). It said I was in Florida, Alaska, and California when I was actually in Dallas. The 3rd had dialer lag issues. (I'm guessing this is common as my roommates has it as well). When placing a call, dialed or from a contact, it will sometimes take 2-5 minutes to actually load the calling app and place the call. I just received my 4th phone Tuesday, activated it yesterday, and today at work it decides to do the same lagging when making a call.I was standing out front of an office trying to get the location of my work order from a coworker. It took about 3.5 minutes to finally attempt to make the call. My new Eris barely has any applications installed as well. (Google Voice and Timeriffic is pretty much it) It happens way to frequently to be a signal issue. It happens at different times and in different places (I work for a school district across 4 cities so I travel between them a lot) I have to make a lot of important phone calls, sometimes time sensitive, and if it takes this much time to place one call then I can't do my job.Anyone have any advice, I'm now wanting to try a different phone. I would love another Eris, but I doubt it will work the way it should. Anyone know the policies about these types of cases?

I don't make many phone calls (less than 20-30 min/day) and don't expect to use it a ton. i would like for it to have a great battery life and probably an actual keyboard (but not a necessity). what would be the best model? is there a model coming out soon i should consider? i saw the droid pro, would this be a good choice (like the keyboard, but it has a smaller screen)
View 15 Replies View RelatedFor some strange reason I can't seem to set-up my personal e-mail account on this Droid phone. I click on "e-mail", I type in my e-mail address and my password, and then I click "next". And then I get a message that says my username and/or password does not match. But I am positive it does, as I have gone online to test it. I have tried retyping my username and passwrod over and over again without any success. I can't get passed that screen.
I have Verizon FiOS at my house, so my e-mail is set-up through Verizon/Yahoo.
I got the Motorola Droid on Friday night. After playing with it, I just cant use it because the font size is to small and there seems to be no global font increase. I want to return the phone for a refund and put my plan back to the way it was, and reactivate my old phone, think verizon will do this for me?
View 21 Replies View RelatedThis is the second Droid that has started freezing on me and I have checked all of my apps individually and I have soft reset and factory reset twice....still keeps freezing when trying to return to home screen.(screen goes black and does nothing). So I called the VZ rep and he was extremely helpful. Instead of sending a refurb, he sent me a brand new droid. It wont be here until Monday (due to the holidays) but I was quite impressed with their customer service.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI spent an hour on the phone with a Verizon CSR and he could not get wifi to work on my DX, so he said they will send a new replacement on 8/3.He instructed me to do a factory reset, so it looks like I lost all my data. I really wish I would have backed up my contacts, but he said they would sync back up within an hour. I hope he's right because I don't want to bluetooth them again ONE BY ONE. Can anybody confirm the gmail sync? I lost all my texts and apps too. I'm pretty sure I read that if I had used appbrain I wouldn't have lost all my apps. But, I don't know if there's a way to back up texts.

View 3 Replies View RelatedGoogle Phones were handed out to all Google employees. The phone is apparently going to be sold directly by Google and apparently available in January. I'm not sure who the attorneys for Verizon are, but Google must have done some deft negotiations to be able to pull this off. They just shafted Motorala, Verizon - and us - in the butt. I'm pretty sure, post Christmas, Droid updates and fixes will become non-existent as Google focuses on their own offering. Google is indeed Microsoft with a crayola logo.

Or do they glow with pride, knowing that they have developed something that struck a creative chord with so many people and that their product is something we just can't get enough of? It just may be some of the Moto-gurus themselves who prompt and post some of the modifications and changes that get us nudged into one astonishing direction or another. I can think of several helpful members here now that I would not be a bit surprised if I found that they were co-creators and architects of the Droid. Hats off and thanks to you, either way! View 3 Replies View RelatedSo i just got off the phone with a customer service rep from Verizon and was telling them about my issues because i'm on my 3rd replacement phone, and the 3rd one that just got sent out today is even worser then the ones i had to have replace, i told the rep that i wanted a new model phone, and all they could tell me was that well we'll have to just replace it with the same model, and if you're wanting to get a new model phone you would have to pay for it.How are some of you members getting the Moto Droid without any charges?? Do you guys just get nice reps? Because the rep i got was just a D*ck he wouldn't listen to what i was trying to say and kept cutting me off.

Went through quite a hassle with Verizon trying to get it replaced.They kept telling me a new one would be here by "Tuesday", no phone, call again, should be here by "Friday", no phone...OK, now i'm frustrated. Finally on Monday, a box from Verizon, and surprise, it's a new Droid 2 YAY. Now on Tuesday, another delivery with a box from Verizon, with yes...another Droid 2. That was almost 3 months ago. The second Droid 2 has just sat on my desk, no charges from Verizon, no phone call or anything asking for it back.Today, my son drops the in use Droid 2 phone and it shattered and it's not working. So, I say to myself, no problem I have a brand new one on my desk. My concern is that if I activate it, it will trigger some thing with Verizon and I will then be charged $500 bucks for the phone. What do you all think? Have I actually got a free 2nd phone, or is it just a pretty paper weight.
