Motorola Droid :: Verizon Sending New Phone

This is the second Droid that has started freezing on me and I have checked all of my apps individually and I have soft reset and factory reset twice....still keeps freezing when trying to return to home screen.(screen goes black and does nothing). So I called the VZ rep and he was extremely helpful. Instead of sending a refurb, he sent me a brand new droid. It wont be here until Monday (due to the holidays) but I was quite impressed with their customer service.

I spent an hour on the phone with a Verizon CSR and he could not get wifi to work on my DX, so he said they will send a new replacement on 8/3.He instructed me to do a factory reset, so it looks like I lost all my data. I really wish I would have backed up my contacts, but he said they would sync back up within an hour. I hope he's right because I don't want to bluetooth them again ONE BY ONE. Can anybody confirm the gmail sync? I lost all my texts and apps too. I'm pretty sure I read that if I had used appbrain I wouldn't have lost all my apps. But, I don't know if there's a way to back up texts.

So Verizon is sending my wife a new Eris due to all of the silent call, not ringing issue, and crazy echo issue during calls. She is on Leak2. When I send the phone back to them, should I put Leak V3 on the phone so that the numbers match up better, or do you guys think it will matter? Should I somehow just erase that HBOOT thing off of the phone and just send it to them all bricked? I'm trying to hide evidence of leak installation as best as possible so that they don't decide to charge me or something for the replacement. input Good news is my wife is finally getting a new phone after I jacked it up with the leak.

For some strange reason I can't seem to set-up my personal e-mail account on this Droid phone. I click on "e-mail", I type in my e-mail address and my password, and then I click "next". And then I get a message that says my username and/or password does not match. But I am positive it does, as I have gone online to test it. I have tried retyping my username and passwrod over and over again without any success. I can't get passed that screen.
I have Verizon FiOS at my house, so my e-mail is set-up through Verizon/Yahoo.

I got the Motorola Droid on Friday night. After playing with it, I just cant use it because the font size is to small and there seems to be no global font increase. I want to return the phone for a refund and put my plan back to the way it was, and reactivate my old phone, think verizon will do this for me?

Wanted to know if this was possible.My upgrade date is 7/12 this is but a phone that I want supposedly comes out in 10/12. Can I extend my contract without using the upgrade eligibility just so that my next upgrade comes 6/12 of 2012?

I'm thinking of fixing my motorolla droid so I can give it to my dad so he can use it's wifi ability to do some stuff. He wouldn't be signing up with Verizon. Is it possible to use the phone without a Verizon account (no calling obviously but everything else)?

As much as I dislike bringing up the word iPhone, I know it has a nice little thing built in that keeps track of your text / voice usage in comparison to whatever plan you have. Considering I'm on a family plan and didn't get a whole lot of texts (yay for google talk!), it'd be nice if I could quickly and easily check my usage Anyone know if there is an app for this / something that verizon has that supports this?

i've had my moto droid for 27 days, which means I'm almost to the 30 day point.I DO like this phone but im having doubts on why i should keep it. Is there a better phone capable of this one offered thru Verizon? I need the opinions of the Veterans out there, if you guys and gals wouldnt mind.

Does anyone know if the VZW Backup application can send contacts to the Droid? I'm currently using a non smartphone that uses VZW Backup to back up my contacts on the phone online somewhere. I don't know if the Droid is compatible with the VZW Backup app tho.

Sometimes my Droid sends a text 2 times. I can see my sending 2 of the same texts in the threaded conversation.

For example last night I went swimming. After my swim I got out and texted my friend "Hey man I'm done swimming, whats up"? Today I check my phone and I see that the same message got sent again randomly. I did not send the text again but somehow my phone re-sent that text, and literally Erased the original message that I sent myself.
Same thing happened the other night - I sent a text apologizing to a friend that I couldn't hang out with her. The next day the text got re-sent to her somehow, and she responded with "what are you talking about?". I was like "Idk wtf happened my phone is randomly re-sending texts to people". What's going on? I don't think this ever happened before the latest software update.

I know the update hasn't officially been rolled out but does anybody have any early knowledge of whether or not this update will correct the issue of emails sent from the droid from yahoo sending multiple copies and copying them into your sent folder? I know there's a setting to disable this feature under normal circumstances but i like having my sent copies saved and was hoping that this update will correct this issue.

Google Phones were handed out to all Google employees. The phone is apparently going to be sold directly by Google and apparently available in January. I'm not sure who the attorneys for Verizon are, but Google must have done some deft negotiations to be able to pull this off. They just shafted Motorala, Verizon - and us - in the butt. I'm pretty sure, post Christmas, Droid updates and fixes will become non-existent as Google focuses on their own offering. Google is indeed Microsoft with a crayola logo.

If so, do you think they shake their heads in disgust that we have to change or enhance everything they do? Or do they glow with pride, knowing that they have developed something that struck a creative chord with so many people and that their product is something we just can't get enough of? It just may be some of the Moto-gurus themselves who prompt and post some of the modifications and changes that get us nudged into one astonishing direction or another. I can think of several helpful members here now that I would not be a bit surprised if I found that they were co-creators and architects of the Droid. Hats off and thanks to you, either way! If you guys are out there reading this thread. you guys rule!

So i just got off the phone with a customer service rep from Verizon and was telling them about my issues because i'm on my 3rd replacement phone, and the 3rd one that just got sent out today is even worser then the ones i had to have replace, i told the rep that i wanted a new model phone, and all they could tell me was that well we'll have to just replace it with the same model, and if you're wanting to get a new model phone you would have to pay for it.How are some of you members getting the Moto Droid without any charges?? Do you guys just get nice reps? Because the rep i got was just a D*ck he wouldn't listen to what i was trying to say and kept cutting me off.

My Droid 1 failed within it's one year warranty. Went through quite a hassle with Verizon trying to get it replaced.They kept telling me a new one would be here by "Tuesday", no phone, call again, should be here by "Friday", no phone...OK, now i'm frustrated. Finally on Monday, a box from Verizon, and surprise, it's a new Droid 2 YAY. Now on Tuesday, another delivery with a box from Verizon, with yes...another Droid 2. That was almost 3 months ago. The second Droid 2 has just sat on my desk, no charges from Verizon, no phone call or anything asking for it back.Today, my son drops the in use Droid 2 phone and it shattered and it's not working. So, I say to myself, no problem I have a brand new one on my desk. My concern is that if I activate it, it will trigger some thing with Verizon and I will then be charged $500 bucks for the phone. What do you all think? Have I actually got a free 2nd phone, or is it just a pretty paper weight.

I'm rooted now but want to go back to STOCK OEM. I have only found a way to get back to OEM but with a SHOLES ROM, I have not found anything to go back to a stock verizon "rom".Anyone have any links as to where I can find info in doing this?

I have a Motorola MB220 and every time I turn the phone on it sends an SMS to 122. This is very annoying since I am being charged $0.20 for each text. There has to be some kind of hidden application on my phone that is doing. I want to completely delete my entire phone and do a fresh install. How can I do this?
