I thought I read somewhere that Verizon was extending the return period on the Droid. Is this true? I bought the Droid on launch day and am curious if I can still return it.

I got the Motorola Droid on Friday night. After playing with it, I just cant use it because the font size is to small and there seems to be no global font increase. I want to return the phone for a refund and put my plan back to the way it was, and reactivate my old phone, think verizon will do this for me?
View 21 Replies View RelatedI bought the eris almost a month ago so my 30 day return policy is getting close. I like the eris a lot, mostly because of it's size and the senseUI, but a part of me yearns for the larger, sharper display of the moto droid. Now, I've noticed my eris is starting to chug slowly to do things like typing, changing apps and I'm not sure if it's just because I'm running a bunch of stuff at once or what, but its making me feel like I'd rather have the powerful processor of the droid as well.But, what if I get the droid and decide that I liked the eris better. Will I be stuck with the droid or can I return it and go back to the eris? I guess what I'm really looking for is an explanation of verizon's return policy and perhaps some feedback from those of you who switched from eris to droid.

I already had heard of this phone and decided I would at least use the regular droid in the interim. Thankfully I picked up the droid on the 16th, so the droid x release day is within the 30 day window. Can I just go in on the 15th and exchange the droid for the droid x? I know the pre order situation is unknown, but if reorders are available can I pre order even though I haven't returned the droid yet?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI woke up this morning to find a line of dead pixels across the bottom of my screen, right through the phone, drawer & contacts icons. Below the line everything was all flashy & glitch. I did a soft reset, battery pull and started it back up with the same results. I then did a hard factory reset with the same results. The phone was purchased from a Wal-mart that was 40 miles away and of course they did not have a replacement. The next closest one was 33 miles from there. So to avoid going without a phone, I made the drive. I was reading that they have made this problem public now, but they say it is a very low percentage. Just wanted to share.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a Droid w/ Verizon December 28th 2009, and have 30 days to take it back. Should I take it back and wait for Verizon to come out with the Nexus One? I know for sure I want to use Verizon: We are in a semi-rural area, and Verizon is the only carrier that has 3g. I guess Verizon will be offering the phone SOMETIME in the spring. If I took it back, I'd have to go back to my old att phone and wait till then. One of the most important features of a phone for me is having a REALLY GOOD CAMERA built in, so I can take decent photos at any time without having to wag another box around I've read that the Droid will eventually (Jan 22?) be getting Android 2.1. DOES ANYONE KNOW if Android 2.1 Will fix the problems with the Droid's camera being a P.O.S? If Verizon would do some kind of a deal where I could keep the droid til the Nexus 1 is available with them I would, or even return the phone and use my current old unlocked phone on their network, and wait if they would give me an approx date.

If I buy the Droid from Best Buy today and don't like it either, can I return it to Best Buy without a restocking fee? Also, if I purchase from Best Buy can I take the Droid into a VZW store six months down the road if something goes wrong with it?

I click on "e-mail", I type in my e-mail address and my password, and then I click "next". And then I get a message that says my username and/or password does not match. But I am positive it does, as I have gone online to test it. I have tried retyping my username and passwrod over and over again without any success. I can't get passed that screen.
I have Verizon FiOS at my house, so my e-mail is set-up through Verizon/Yahoo.
I want to get a screen protector (probably Ghost Armor) but am still considering exchanging the Droid down the road. Will Verizon still take it? Or are protectors easily removable?

Don't worry, I'll still be getting another My battery life hasn't been as great as everybody mentioned, my phone suffers from random reboots (nothing helped, i tried it all), and now I noticed my camera has 4 stuck pixels. Not so bad in Camera mode, but a lot more prominent in Camcorder mode. So how should I do it? I purchased it in store at a VZW. So am I restricted just to that, or can I call VZW? View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is the second Droid that has started freezing on me and I have checked all of my apps individually and I have soft reset and factory reset twice....still keeps freezing when trying to return to home screen.(screen goes black and does nothing). So I called the VZ rep and he was extremely helpful. Instead of sending a refurb, he sent me a brand new droid. It wont be here until Monday (due to the holidays) but I was quite impressed with their customer service.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI spent an hour on the phone with a Verizon CSR and he could not get wifi to work on my DX, so he said they will send a new replacement on 8/3.He instructed me to do a factory reset, so it looks like I lost all my data. I really wish I would have backed up my contacts, but he said they would sync back up within an hour. I hope he's right because I don't want to bluetooth them again ONE BY ONE. Can anybody confirm the gmail sync? I lost all my texts and apps too. I'm pretty sure I read that if I had used appbrain I wouldn't have lost all my apps. But, I don't know if there's a way to back up texts.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIf I do the incorrect pattern enough times, will it lock me out of my Droid for an extended time period? How long? How many tries do I get? The reason I ask is because, the Droid (ANNOYINGLY) suffers from a slight lag when brought out of sleep mode. Basically EVERY TIME I try to wake it and quickly enter my pattern, I will be halfway through it and it will hit a lag spike I guess and stops reading that I am touching it, and the first half of the pattern I was entering will be counted as an incorrect pattern, and as I continue to finish the pattern, the second half will be counted as an incorrect pattern. Basically, I use up 2 tries, and I would hate for this to happen, and then I go to enter the actual pattern and I just make a mistake, and use my last try up. So do you get only 3 tries?

When entering in text and using the predictive text entry, when you select the word it always enters a space...if you're saving something it will append that space to the end of the filename making you have to hit the "X" Delete key to erase it. Is there any easy way to not have it input the space automatically (didn't see it in settings?).
Also how do you tell it to automatically put a period at the end of the word etc? I've done it by accident before but no idea how I did it!
My commute is 1 hour each way where I listen to pandora or mixzing and I surf the web/gchat/email. My battery barely lasts a full day. I have WiFi & bluetooth off all day. How to extend my battery life?
