Dec 15, 2009If you press the gprs button off the mobile network is still running in the background... it doesn't seem to work at all... so how can you turn the gprs off?

Nov 22, 2009Does anyone have an issue where if they toggle GPS off using the power widget, then goes back to re-enable the GPS, the GPS doesn't quite work right. I saw this yesterday the GPS was all wacky and GN wouldn't lock but maps would. I restarted the phone, and it worked great. I see this from time to time.

Feb 28, 2010I've had my droid for about a week now and about two days ago the power button stopped working and is now completly unresponsive.I can't power off the phone without taking out the battery. Good thing that sliding the keyboard out wakes the screen so I can unlock it.I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this problem or is it possible this is just a defect and I should get a replacement also I have tried doing the factory reset to see if it was some app I may have installed causing the problem but its still not working.

Aug 15, 2010Just last week I finally rooted my Motorola Droid (thanks for the help)! All was good until today when I woke up and the power button didn't work.It was intermittently working this afternoon, and now it does nothing.I was ready to unroot the phone so I could take it back to Verizon when I realized that I can't get into the bootloader screen without the power button.I tried holding the D-pad up while reinstalling the battery and I also tried the camera and volume down buttons while reinstalling the battery.The battery removal and reinstall just doesn't seem to be working to put it into the bootloader screen.

Oct 15, 2010I had a program that I got from the Market...I think it was called something Settings. It was a green color "gear" icon.
I think that was the program. It let's you control all of your settings for the most part such as wifi-gps etc...
For the LG EVE where do you go to turn on or off 3G?
I do not have data anymore.
I had a setting where I could turn on and off the 3G GPRS.
I no longer have that feature.
Turning off all the useless crap and using an app killer gets me a solid 2 to 3 days on 1 charge.

Dec 16, 2009Is there any app or some thing like that, that I could use it to turn on mobile Internet 2G (EDGE/GPRS) or 3G (UMTS/HSDPA). I now turn off/on mobile Internet with Toggle Data widget, that changes APN type to "-" so it can't work. I am asking this because i use GPS tracker app. And I can turn it on with sms with code: "gps_tracker_start But if i want to report my location I need to be connected to Internet. So I could see my android phone even if it is not connected to internee. So is there any option to turn on mobile Internet remotely?

Jul 26, 2010Has anyone else noticed that when they turn WiFi on through the widget (either android or motorola one) it doesn't always actually turn on wireless?
I usually have to go to WiFi settings and then once I do that it connects to my router. This will keep happening until I restart the phone and then the widget will work another 1-2 times and then I'll have to go into the settings menu until I restart again.
Unrelated: Has anyone else had their 3G dropout today or is it just me? I'm in the northeast.

I am quite satisfied with it, but i have quite an irritating problem, my GPRS keeps on going back every now and then, like once every 2 minutes and then i have to turn the Flight mode on/off to bring it back. It might not be a problem in countries where 3G is available but here in India it's quite unsettling to see such a nuance in such a wonderful OS. Nov 14, 2010Last week I was in the US and had gotten the AT&T pay-as-you-go sim. It charges 1c/kb and I thought that's not too bad since I *only* get outlook and yahoo email. Well, *before* I knew it, it sucked up $14.40 for internet access....Frantically called AT&T customer service and after a long wait, they told me that my device had access the service and downloaded 1.5Mb! I asked them if there was a way to turn off the GPRS(since I was mostly interested in their $2/day unlimited calling service) and they said they don't have a way to turn it off Tried a bunch of things like turning off auto-sync (in settings) etc...but STILL I ended up paying $40 by the end of the day!!
Is their a way to turn off GPRS completely and also monitor what applications are accessing the service? All I have to go by is what AT&T says at the website!

My GPRS was working fine but I dont use it alot since I have WiFi. Now after sometime I wish to use GPRS but its not working.
I have tried to reset the Access Point Settings and ensured that the settings are correct by matching them with a frd's phone. Everything looks fine but the GPRS is not working. What to do?
I have tested it on two different networks to see if the issue is at my network's end but the GPRS didn't work on both.

Apr 29, 2010For some reason the power control widget won't activate my wireless. It will turn green, but won't connect. I have to go through Settings/Wireless & networks/ then tap Wifi Settings, and it will automatically connect. I don't have to choose a network, I just tap on Wifi Settings and then it connects.
