I just downloaded beautiful widgets and love it.the only problem is that the normal size home widget is messed up when I use launcher pros five row setting. Anyone know a fix got this.

I am designing a home screen widget. I ran this widget on a HTC Hero device, which has a screen of 320 pixels * 480 pixels with mdpi. It ran perfect on HTC Hero. The widget takes 3 cells * 2 cells space, i.e. 240 pixels * 200 pixels.Then I ran this widget on a Nexus One device, which has a screen of 480 pixels * 800 pixels, mdpi. Since Nexus One also is mdpi, so I though 240dip is equivalent to 240 pixels on Nexus One and 200dip is equivalent to 200 pixels on Nexus One, so the widget will not take 3 cells * 2 cells space on Nexus One device. To my surprise, when running on Nexus One device, the widget take exact 3 cells * 2 cells, about 360 pixels * 300 pixels, on Nexus One device.I am confused. The layout xml above specifies 240dip in width and 200dip in height for the widget, but why did it take 360 pixels * 300 pixels on Nexus One Device? What am I missing?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using Weatherbug Elite since soon after getting the Droid X. I'm running Launcher Pro Plus. I have always been able to resize the map widget of weatherbug to 3x3. Now (since last update I think) the widget sizes to about 2.5x2.5 from the standard 2x2 size. The other .5x.5 is grey screen. Has anyone else been having this problem or know if it can be fixed? I really like weatherbug but would like to fix this.

Well none of them worked and I'm pretty sure I uninstalled all of them. However on the most right side of the home screen it still says Problem Loading Widget.. Doesn't seem to be causing a problem but it is just really annoying.

I think these are for baseline HVGA screen. How about for large screens and hdpi screens, do they still have 4*4 cells for widget and each cell in portrait orientation is still 80 pixels * 100 pixels?

View 12 Replies View RelatedWhen our app gets updated sometimes the buttons on existing widgets get the wrong icon drawables, and sometimes the layout itself is broken. I believe this is because the update has different values for some of the drawable and other resources, since they're generated alphabetically, but the widget host still retains the old ids. A delete and re-create of the widget fixes the problem, but a number of users get confused by it and of course it just looks bad.
Is there something I should be doing to prevent this? If not are there any workarounds, other than making all the resources used by widgets start with "0" or something equally ugly?
This is more of an annoyance, but whenever I reply to a message off the home screen widget, it automatically defaults to the home number for that contact, instead of replying to the same (cell) number that it was sent from. If I go into the messaging app, it works as it should (replies to the same number).

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo i have my contacts in my phone, fine and dandy, when i first got my phone i accidently synched facebook contacts with my phone, meaning every person on my facebook with a phone # on their fb was imported into my phone, you know as well as i do, 90% of our fb friends arent phone contact friends, so i unsynched fb..now the issue im having is this. If i go into messaging, and in the To: feild i start to type a persons name in my contact to text them, for some people it doesnt show up, altho if u go into my contacts their name is clearly there. The other issue, is when i start to type names, it still brings up peoples names and numbers from FB altho their contact isnt saved in my phone..so everytime i wanna text someone i hasve to goto contacts, find them, clickhold and select text contact..kind of annoying for mass texts ect....

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was testing some apps that can move to the SD card. They move fine and run. After reboot i notice 2 things.
1. Icons i had on the home screen default to a generic droid icon similar to the market place icon. The apps original icon is gone.
2. Apps moved to the SD card disappear from the programs app try Is this just a bug with all 2.2 roms?
When I get a call and the 2 arrows come up(updated software) and you slide right to answer left to end, the graphic for my arrows are pointing up but I still slide over. Heres a picture in paint to illustrate what I mean. any input? It started doing this a few days ago, so like a week after the software update.

I downloaded some fonts that I thought looked nice and tried them but the subtitle for my push notifications would be cut off so I changed it back to my old font (Rosemary). However, it still gets cut off! I already uninstalled MyFonts and tried to change any of the options that I thought could work change it back to normal, but to no avail. restore the size or indents for my push notifications back to normal. It's bothering the crap out of me!! My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 & with 4.3.

When I press the home button on my DHD the screen goes white with the HTC logo, flashes to the home screen and then is delay of 10 seconds of longer with the loading warning running.
Is this normal?
When I use the back button to get to the home screen it does no do this.
On the car dock the "Car Home" was default to the home key on the Droid. If I backed out of Car Home to get to an app or something, I would just touch the Home key and it would get me back to car home.

It rarely makes a sound from the menu or search button. But the home and back make this sound if I push the button or if I lightly press down (halfway pushing the buttons).
Is this normal? Do you get this on your hero?

View 7 Replies View RelatedThis is my first post. I've had a Moto Droid since day one, and I just love it. It is without a doubt better than any phone that I've had over the years, and that includes the iPhone, BB, etc.
However, there are 2 things that I don't understand - Font size and a spell checker. It is imposiible to read the small font size in emails or text messages.
1. Why has there not been an app to either change the font size or be able to zoom in? Picasy has incorporated multi-touch for zooming, so I've to assume that its doable! Why not have the same in an email client.
2. Why is there not an email client out there that allows for spell checking? There are many such apps for the BB! I am a terrible speller.
I am not complaining, I just want to understand the limitations from a developers prospective, as I am sure these isuues will eventually be addressed.
My battery seems to do alright but one thing that has really been bugging me is that every time my battery gets to 30/20% it dies almost instantly lasting no more than 15 minutes from normal usage (texting, checking email).
Is this normal or is mine a bad battery or a battery gone bad rather? Thing is the battery lasts a long except for the last quarter of the battery. I've never seen my battery hit any values below 20% except 5% which is when it turns off immediately after.Call for a replacement battery or is this normal? Do i have to reset my battery or something?
It seems like every now and then when I'm texting my 3g service goes out and is now 1x.. i live in a small town so do you think this is normal? it has been doing this since i got it. I heard handcent is really good. is that more bugles then the default texting app on the droid?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an ongoing problem with my Droid that apps will crash if they are not used for a period of time. I've been dealing with it so far by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. This morning Google Voice started crashing and I was unable to make a call, so I uninstalled Google Voice, made the call I needed to make, and then reinstalled Voice. While going through the setup, the app crashes and force closes when attempting to sign in. This is not the only app I have problems with. The Amazon MP3 service force closes at random times, and it seems every app I install eventually has to be reinstalled because it starts force closing after a period of time. I do all the normal troubleshooting like clearing the cache and restarting the phone, and it usually doesn't fix it. Is this normal for this phone or do I have a bad one? It's really becoming an annoyance...
