Motorola Droid :: Navigation Audio - Ringtone Sound When Using Panda
Nov 21, 2009In my car I am currently using a cassette adapter plugged into the earphone jack. Two things I noticed.
1) When listening to audio (panda) Nav cuts out the music and speaks it's direction extremely louder than music was playing. Anyone know if there is a seperate setting for the Nav's volume?
2) When listening to panda and I receive a call, panda goes silent but there is no ringtone. at first i thought panda was buffering but when i looked down at the phone I had an incoming call. Normal? Did I dumb thumb something?
I don't think it would be a big problem when it is in the car dock but I haven't used it. On the windshield it's too far away and my car doesn't have any flat surfaces close to the driver. Last thing, with this setup phone call audio comes through the car speakers and with phone on the passenger seat my caller said the call clarity was better than my last phone.
Motorola Milestone :: Player Does Not Support This Type Of Audio File
Jul 22, 2010I am getting the following error when I try to play some song using the standard "Music" App: "sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file" So far I have only had this happen on .ogg files. I can play some .ogg files with no problem but other will not play. Often there is one I can play and one I can't from the same album which I ripped from my CD in the same ripping session so the encoding parameters should be the same. Another weird thing is that I sometime can succeed in playing a song by finding it in OI File Manager and selecting it there. OI File Manager opens in in the "Music" App and it plays not problem, but I cannot open it from within "Music" App!

Oct 26, 2010I bought a milestone 3 weeks ago, since i bought it, it has this squeak sound when the screen locks, every time the screen locks automatic or when i press the lock button above it creates a sound, but yesterday after i used task manager cleaner i kill all the running apps because its a bit laggy, then the squeak sound is gone? i dont know how to enable it.

Oct 12, 2010I'm saving a sound from my app to be used as a ringtone or a notification sound. Here's part of my code, taken from this page:

My understanding is that the sound will be saved as well as a ringtone, a notification sound and an alarm, as the flags are all set to "true". At least on the emulator this does work but on the actual device, the sound only shows up in the ringtone list, and I have no idea why.
I've tried to investigate further: removing the line with "IS_RINGTONE" won't change anything (in case only one flag can be used at a time), the sound doesn't show up in the list with the notification-sounds.

HTC Droid Eris :: Setting A Sound As Notification And Ringtone
May 17, 2010Back when I got my phone, I transfered an MP3 from the computer to the SD card and selected it as ringtone. it is still there and still works.....but now, after the OTA update, when I go into settings/phone ringtone this sound is not on the list. How do I get it back?
Also, under notifications, in the list of sounds the ones on my SD card are not there. I have a sound stored on the card that I would like to set as the notification. I mounted the card to my computer to verify that these files are indeed on the SD card. The phone just isn't seeing them in the list of available sounds...but, they do play if I go into MP3 or Music app.

Android : Playing Bigger Size Audio Wav Sound File Produces Crash
Mar 25, 2010I am trying to play the bigger size audio wav file(which is >20 mb) using the following code(AudioTrack) on my Android 1.6 HTC device which basically has less memory. But i found device crash as soon as it executes reading, writing and play. But the same code works fine and plays the lesser size audio wav files(10kb, 20 kb files etc) very well.
P.S: I should play PCM(.wav) buffer sound, the reason behind why i use AudioTrack here. Though my device has lesser memory, how would i read bigger audio files bytes by bytes and play the sound to avoid crashing due to memory constraints. Code...
Could someone guide me please to play the AudioTrack code for bigger size wav files?
Motorola Milestone :: Click Volume Rocker / Ringtone Gets Shut Down
Mar 20, 2010I've got a couple of questions about the volume rocker: if i've got an incoming call I hear my ringtone going off, but when I click the volume rocker the ringtone gets shut down. You can imagine that's pretty annoying when the rocker gets inadvertently pressed in your pocket (since it's so sensitive), you'll practically always miss the call. when the phone is locked, the rocker is used for media volume when listening to music. This combined with the sensitivity of the button is pretty annoying as the volume keeps getting adjusted when the phone is in my pocket. Is there a solution to these problems? Can the volume rocker be disabled completely? I must add i'm probably noticing these things more because I've purchased a rather tight glove (Puro) for the phone, and the buttons get pressed rather easily.

Feb 6, 2010I plugged my Moto Droid into my truck today and used it for navagation. Sounded great. Later after I unplugged it and tried to make a call on the phone there was no audio coming from the phone. I had to reboot the phone to get it back. I think I read somthing about this someplace. I kinda remember something about the switch sticking in the audio jack. I've only used this jack twice now and the phone is only a month or so old. Is this a known issue?
