I have only had it happen twice. When I answer by Droid, the caller can barely be heard. At first I thought there was no sound, but I could hear the caller, but just barely.
Anyone else have this problem?

Just bought my wife her first Android phone, an original Droid (A855). Seems they're on sale everyhwere since the release of the X. Anyway, she absolutely HATES that Motoblur green side-pulling tab thing for answering a phone call. She just can't seem to get the hang of it. Is there some way to change that, or is there an app available that will change the interface and just give her a simple button to push for answering a call?

View 3 Replies View RelatedAbout 25% of the time my phone will ring and I go to swipe the lock to answer the call and I get no response from the slider. If and when it does decide to slide the call has already gone to voicemail. And if I turn the slide screen off in settings and the phone rings, tapping the "answer call" button does nothing (again, not all of the time).
I just tried to duplicate it calling my DX from my workphone and it slides fine and answers the call. Anyone have any ideas what might be causing the slider to not slide some of the time? Other than with answering the phone I've had no problems with the touch-screen.
I'm having an awful time with my Eris when it comes to picking up calls and an even worse time dialing out. Everything is delayed after pressing keys. This morning I went to dial someone and when it didn't dial I set the phone down to use my office phone and then out of the corner of my eye I see it was calling the person. Once I had the person on the phone w/in a minute my cheek (I'm assuming) ended the call.
So the screen was in the call history list so I pressed his name again to call and it called the next person below on the list. It was probably adding his name to the call history and moved the list but because it was delayed it dialed the wrong person. I love this phone except for phone Calls. I'm going into Verizon today to complain. They will be able to tell from my call history how frequently I'm missing calls because the phone doesn't pick up and then I redial back. 5 calls back and forth for a 2 minute conversations!
For those of you who have the DX how is the sound on it through headphones when using it as a MP3 player?

So, when my wife turns phone off and turn on the phone no longer has that "droid" sound like when it was first bought, just another ringtone that isn't used for any kind of notification or anything and I don't see a setting for that anywhere.

When everyone other than my girlfriend texts me, my phone vibrates and plays the notification sound. Now, when my girlfriend texts me, I get no vibration, AND no sound. The only thing I could think of is that I gave my girlfriend a custom ringtone I made with ringdroid, but that wouldn't make any sense since its for a call, not a text. Please help me, shes getting mad at me when I respond 2 hours later.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo, today as I was rushing to get on the train after school I needed to make a phone call that would determine what train I would take. Of course, since it was time sensitive my droid decided not to make our receive calls. I would dial the number and hear nothing but silence even tho the call had connected. The party on the other end was getting the call but we could not hear each other.only silence. I had to reboot twice at which point I had a number of voice mails from the person i was calling trying to see what was happening. My phone is not rooted and I just have some basic popular apps. Is this just an occasional smart phone glitch or have others had this happen?
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I had my Voyager, I could use my bluetooth earpiece to talk on the phone, and also get the audio from the Navigation to come through the earpiece. I was surprised tonight that when I was using my GPS on the Droid it didn't come through my earpiece which resulted in me turning my radio down significantly so I could hear the phone.
I also have a stereo bluetooth headphones that I already paired and see the icon on the screen, but when I play a video or some music, it doesn't come through the headphones. Its still coming out of the Droid's phone speakers. Its showing that it is connected in my notifications bar too.
Anyone else's "Droid" sound change to a higher pitched goofy sound? I like the original "Droid" sound. Any ideas as to what's going on with the sound change?

The Remotecall app in Playstore still requires me to pick up my phone in order to actually hear something..
its got all the other features i'd like to use: answer calls from my PC, make calls from pc (from , for example, the outlook contactlist), call Log capability; but i have to pick up my phone when i probably can just hear it through my headphone (connected to PC)
I think i should be looking for some sort of voip server on my phone and let my computer act as voip client, but i'm not entirely sure about that.
Often times when my phone rings. when I pick it up I can hear the person that's calling coming thru the speaker before I answer. It's almost like the phone is partly answering itself.

Note: I had to play around with it a bit to replicate the problems because sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.
I can classify the problems into two categories. 1) When the screen is off when the phone is ringing. and 2) When the screen is on and I see Caller Id etc...
1) Behavior when the screen is off when the phone is ringing:
First off, I'm not sure why sometimes the screen is on or off when it's ringing. I keep the phone in my pocket so I wonder if its the "proximity detector" some people have mentioned. When I pull the phone out of my pocket, sometimes the screen turns on, sometimes it doesn't. Yet sometimes I can sneak a peek in my pocket at the caller ID. Anybody know what determines what makes the screen on or off when a call is coming in?
When the screen is off, the green answer button does nothing. This is particularly frustrating when the phone is in my hand with nothing in front of it to block the proximity detector, yet I cannot answer it. Giving the phone a little shake sometimes makes it tun on, bust sometimes doesn't. Maybe the shake effect is just coincidence.
Also, pressing the side buttons will not silence it like they do when the screen is on. The only button that works is the red one which sends the caller to voice mail.
2) Behavior when the screen is on and the phone is ringing:
Green button answers it, as it should.
Red button sends it to voice mail, as it should.
Side buttons silence it, as they should.
The home menu and back buttons send it directly to voice mail. This is frustrating if I'm pulling the phone out of my pocket ad accidentally brush one of those going for the green button. Anybody else have this problem?
Also I was reading on other threads about holding the red button until options come up. Mine does not do this. The red button just sends caller to voice mail no matter how long I hold it.
3) Sometimes my screen does not go to sleep. But stays on the "screen locked, pres menu to unlock" screen. This often happens after I miss a call, or just hit the red button to check the time and then set it down. But only sometimes and not others. Any clues?
I could use a little help. I carry my EVO in my pocket, and am constantly answering calls that I do not know are incoming. It seems the phone is rubbing against my leg and answering the call. Obviously locking the phone does not help, since you can answer a call without unlocking the phone. Anyone know an app, or alternative solution to keep this from happening?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having an intermittent problem where callers can't hear me for 6-10 seconds when they call. This is a t best embarrassing and frequently they hang up. As I say the problem is intermittent - sometimes the phone answers as usual. Interestingly, I can hear them talking (and usually saying 'hello? hello?) but they can't hear me and I just keep saying hello until they hang up or until the sound kicks in and we can converse.
I did a factory reset with no improvement, and have also downloaded the PC updater and updated the system with no improvement. Then, I spoke to a friend the other night who described an identical problem with his X10.
Anyone else noticed having a problem answering a call when the keyboard is open? My whole system lags and the screen and keys don't respond to answering the phone call. Sometimes I can finally answer before it goes to voicemail, sometimes not. When I test it by calling myself, the phone rings for the caller 3 times before my phone starts ringing, the screen goes dark, and it finally vibrates, not rings, but the time the caller has heard 5 rings.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently bought this phone from Rogers (I still have a week to test this thing out to make sure it's not broken) I'm noticing that answering incoming calls can sometimes take up to 20 seconds before the other side can hear me! I can make calls and people can hear me as soon as the call begins but I'm answering the phone after it has shut itself down (I mean the screen goes dark and then I need to slide the slider on the screen to answer the call) SOMETIMES there will be a few seconds delay, sometimes nothing but I've had up to 20 seconds delay on multiple occasions I'm running 1.6, and from the sounds of it, we won't get 2.1 until next month but is ANYONE else getting these issues? Should I return this phone for another? This is inexcusable and I am having too many callers hang up the phone on me because they think they have a bad connection but in reality there is a delay before they can hear me.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am really happy with my Droid Eris, but there is one exception. I listen to Pandora on my phone almost daily at work. I have a radio that has an audio input so I connect my phone and play it through the radio. The problem is when someone calls me. I usually don't answer and call them right back from the work line, but sometimes, like today, I get frustrated and I want to answer the cell. First, if I don't disconnect the headphone jack the person calling cannot hear me. Second, if I disconnect it and take the call as soon as the call disconnects the music starts and it is usually blaring! This happened today and I was so embarrassed when the song 'Broken Wings' by Mr. Mister went blaring and about 30 people could hear it and the phone was not responding to turn it off! I really hope someone can help me with this issue.

I don't know I you can get automatically a call, play a recorded message then wait for the answer and record it. Or maybe there is just a way to interact with the actual answering system so I just have to plug in.
New to these forums as I got my cliq 1 week ago.
I normally keep my phones on vibrate in order to be discreet of any incoming calls or notifications at work. However, when I am talking on the phone and I get a text, the phone vibrates. Is there a way to make the phone just beep or play a sound instead of vibrating. I must admit, it can freak you having the phone buzz in your ear.
