This will be my first major smartphone purchase. I wanted to know if hot weather could ruin the phone in terms of overheating and what not.
I like to play a lot of sports outside so would there be an issue with the hot sun beating on this bad boy.

Would leaving the screen on all of the time be bad for the longevity of the phone? I ask cause my phone stays in the dock for extended periods (days) on end. What is the expected life of the phone or shortest span component?

It keeps saying when i refresh weather info unavailable. IS anyone else having this problem? This just started happening yesterday morning prior to that i had no problems with it. The news portion is working fine.

View 7 Replies View RelatedThis is kind of a detailed question, but basically, I have been reading through some threads and came across someone who wrote that keeping the wifi turned on to 'never sleep' optimizes your battery life by a lot (instead of using mobile connection). So I set this up, but I also have the app Advanced Task Killer and I am trying to figure out if I need to set the wifi to the ignore list (so that it doesn't get killed everytime) or if Advanced Task Killer doesn't effect this.I am just trying to optimize my battery so I can actually use the internet without it dying on me so quickly. I charged it all night and literally 5 minutes after I unplugged it, my phone was down to 90% life.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo since the 2.1 OTA my weather widget will display the city, but no weather icon. if i sync it manually, it will show up. with 1.5 it would update every 3 hours, regardless if i had Background data on or off (i normally keep it off).
so now with 2.1 it wont sync unless i have BG data on, or do it manually. any way around this?
After the OTA update, just got it yesterday, now the HTC weather app isn't working! The widget isn't showing any weather data, and when I try to update it manually from within the app, it says no weather data available.

View 31 Replies View RelatedWas doing fine until rain was coming, then battery dropped big time. Charged last night before bedtime, didn't use my phone all day and checked a little bit ago and was down to 50%. Normally I'd be at 80-90% under similar circumstances.
Here's the confusing part (Battery use):
42m 36s since unplugged.
Display: 67%
Cell standby: 26%
Phone idle: 8%
EDIT: BTW, this is LIVE weather.
When I go to my local tv station's web site and try to view their animated weather radars, I can see them but they don't animate. Is this due to flash, something with the web site itself (not being mobile-specific), or am I just using the wrong app to view weather radars?
View 19 Replies View RelatedI installed the 2.1 deskclock because the 2.0.1 was just too bright. Last night i put it in my multimedia dock. However there is no weather. It just says "weather temperature unavailable". I went into the settings and the weather settings is defualted for my zip code. it does show my location and temp. I done understand then why it does not display temp in the dock.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI doubt anyone is as excited about this as I am but with the 2.1 update, the Moto Droid has received the Nexus One News and weather app. I have been searching for something like this for along time and there were a few out there but nothing like the one that 2.1 has just given us. I know I sound like a loon but news and weather is part of my daily morning ritual and this just made it better!
