I'm using the standard weather app and it's not updating. Currently it's cloudy and 57 degrees by my computer and the news. My phone says 72 and sunny. I've updated the weather and it still shows the same. What's up?

Recent quirk - my Eris all of a sudden insists that the sun is shining at 9:30 PM, and conversely that the moon is out at 8:00 AM (times approximate). I go into the main weather screen, it updates, looks fine, I go back to the home screen, still way off. Eventually it does "match" -right now, 1:50 PM, the Eris says "intermittent clouds" and looking out the window what bits of sky I can see are mostly cloudy. But it is a bit disconcerting to be sitting at the baseball game, pull out the Eris to check the time, and have a nice happy sun staring at me when it is way past sundown.

I click on the widget and bring up the settings and check the "Update Automatically" I get a "Data Warning"- This may result in additional charges from your wireless provider. Enable automatic download of weather data? and I click yes. Yet it wont save and it keeps coming unchecked after I exit the widget. I even tried hitting now and I tried a soft reset.
View 12 Replies View RelatedAnyone having trouble with widgets stop updating? Like my clock/calendar/weather/news/pretty much any widget i have stops updating after an hour. So i look at my clock widget two hours later and it is an hour behind. Happens to ALL my widgets.Even the quick turn on/off wifi,bt,gps and such. They just stop updating/showing animation.I have ADW launcher installed. I am wondering if it is that. I do not really want to remove it as i hate the stock 3 button interface at the bottom (why do i need a contacts and phone, just use the phone to look thru contacts, wasted space IMO) and am quite keen on keeping the 5 button.Any ideas? If i power off the phone and turn it back on it's fine again for about an hour. SOmetimes randomly thru the day it will start updating and working fine again then randomly stop again.

I have turned off GPS and background sync to save battery and I am assuming this is the reason why it isn't updating. Can someone confirm this is the reason? BTW I absolutely love the phone!

It keeps saying when i refresh weather info unavailable. IS anyone else having this problem? This just started happening yesterday morning prior to that i had no problems with it. The news portion is working fine.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAfter the phone has been in hibernation mode for a while, when I bring it back up, my weather, and sometimes location is not updated. This just started happening a few days ago, and the only thing I can think of is that an app I installed in the last few days may be conflicting with it. I have read some posts from people with similar problems that can't get it to work at all. Mine will display the correct weather conditions and location if I hit the refresh button. I have had the phone almost a month, and up until a few days ago, it did everything automatically. I have not removed any components or applications.

I go into Menu>Setting>Update automatically, click on the box, then get the Data warning "this may result in additional charges from your wireless provider. Enable automatic download of weather data"
Click on YES
then I back out, and go back in to the setting, and the box is UNCHECKED again.
It's not holding the update yes setting.
The weather app that comes with the hero used to update location and weather whereever I went but it stopped doing that..I was in orlando all weekend and it gave me miami weather the whole time..is there a way to fix it?

I have manually set my location and each time i want the weather to update i have to go in settings, choose auto-location, then set location manually again, then press back and now it updates.
I'm running Omega v40 with stock kernel and have tried with other roms aswell.
Over the past few days (since I downloaded the software update I think) my location on the weather app is not updating. Anyone else experienced that/any ideas. On Voda with Auto sync on.

I have a debranded Desire running the updated radio rom (the one that restores the broken wifi)
I dunno what setting I tweaked or killed, but the temperature hasn't updated in a few hours though I have it set to update every 15 minutes. I checked a bunch of settings all around but can't seem to find out what's going on. Any advice?
Also is there a way for the widget (beautiful smaller home) to source weather data from the stock htc weather app? I thought I had it selected to launch weather when I tap the weather info in the widget, but that still launches the beautiful weather screen. Conversely when I tap the date and time I'm taken to the respective stock apps like I want.
I hope I'm not alone in this (then someone could know the answer). I have noticed my stock HTC weather app will not automatically update any more.
I noticed it after the update HTC sent out (don't know if they are connected, just trying to give all the facts). I have stopped and started the Incredible, activated and re-activated the widget numerous times.
After going into settings and turning on auto updates I can back out and go back in and it is not checked. I can't get it to activate and stick.
I have been using trhe free verison of weatherf since I got my droid and was wondering does WB Elite really add anything worth paying for? in the market it gives a very limited descripion...something about 7 layers.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOver the past couple days, it seems like my Weather Channel app hasn't been working properly. When I move to the home screen that has the widget, it will be displaying the wrong temperature and picture (i.e. it might be showing "partly sunny" when it's night time). It just shows the temperature for the last time I opened the app.So, I click on the widget to open the app, and it brings me to one of the screens and it just says "N/A", while a green circle rotates in the upper-right corner. After a few seconds, it finally updates and shows me the current temperature/forecast (whichever screen I was in last).I've never had these problems before, up until the past few days. Usually I would just move over to my other home screen, look at the temp, and move back. It would always be [somewhat] updated by itself (usually every 30-60 minutes it seemed). Now it doesn't update until I actually open the app.Any ideas or suggestions? Or is anyone else having this problem? I am using the Droid Eris. I restarted the phone yesterday, still doing the same thing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone else have an issue with the weather channel app? Occasionally I'll notice that the temp is way off on my home city. When I tap the widget to view my home city in the app there is no weather data - just a big N/A at the top of the screen. It will not update again until I reboot the phone. My other cities are always still updating. Only my home city is fried.This happens about once a day- anything I can clear out in the phone that might help? Uninstall and reinstall the weather channel app?

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy Droid appears to have an issue, and I'm hoping someone here can help. It is completely stock. I've searched this and other forums, but can't find anyone with a similar issue. My phone is not bricked, but I would really like to update to 2.2.
When Android 2.1 came out, I did a manual update and had no issues completing it.
When 2.2 came out, I tried the manual update like normal. Held the X key while powering up, and the Motorola logo came up. Then the phone shut down, and the logo came up again. As long as I hold down the X, this continues to happen.
Late last week, I got the notice on my phone that the update was ready to install. I tapped Install Now, and the phone shut down and restarted in a similar manner as described above.
Crap. So, I can't get into Recovery Mode. At all.
So, I decided to attempt a factory reset through the Settings Menu. Same thing happens. Moto logo comes up, the the phone shuts down. Then powers back up like nothing happened.
I took it to the VZW store. Was essentially told to wait a bit, and that they would do a warranty exchange if the phone became unusable.
I did the Motorola Support Chat, and was told that VZW should be getting a tool to help, but it seemed like the rep didn't really understand what I was describing.
So Weather & Toggle Widget, Local News, Audio Manager Widget, BBC News and Titanium Backup * Root won't update. The hang at the start of the DL in marketplace. Anyone have any ideas? I'm running 2.2 kangerade V5.0.9. I haven't had any other problems and a lot of other apps have been updating regularly for a week or so now.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm a bit noobish since this is my first Android phone, so please forgive me. I rooted my Droid X running 2.1 using the GUI program. I used Root Explorer to rename a few bloatware apps. I did not make any other changes, just installed Titanium Backup and used it to make a backup. To successfully install the OTA update to 2.2, what do I need to do? I read that I need to restore the bloatware. Do I also need to unroot first? I've also read in a couple places something about moving Superuser.apk from bin to xbin. Is that what I need to do to stay rooted in 2.2?

Im really lovein the flash capability. But since then none of my widgets are updating. Face book, social network, Recent messages and news. When I try to update a status on my social network one it jus says, "can't send update. Message failure. " And I have the orange triangle with exclamation point on most of my messaging icons. So I just need to know if this is either a soft where fix I need to wait for. Or is their something I can do to fix this myself.

What is the easiest way for me to get up to date with the new radio? Currently I have 30.01 bootloader.I read that I can use the FULL 2.2 SBF file to update the bootloader and the more importantly, the Radio. I am wondering however if I need to remove remove Bootstrap or Unroot first? I would imagine I do not, but you can never be too careful, there seems to be alot of misinformation, and I'm digging up posts where some people say the Full 2.2 SBF will not update the bootloader.
View 11 Replies View RelatedMy gmail account on the DX is not updating properly.I had 5 emails this morning.I read them and deleted them, plus deleted a few older emails. The phone looks normal like they were deleted. Later I restarted and the phone said I had 5 more emails...and they were the exact same ones I deleted in the morning.So I deleted again and then logged into gmail...they were still in gmail as unread. Seems like I don't have communication back to gmail. Is this a phone issue or are others experiencing this - maybe it's a gmail problem?

I am currently running Bugless Beast .4, and of course, I may want to change or upgrade in the future. I know that most of my settings and information is saved to the SD card, and that in theory I could move SOME apps there. That said, I want to understand what a "nandroid backup" is, and how changing ROMs affects your otherwise installed applications. Is there a good app anyone can recommend to back up and restore applications if they are lost?
