Just downloaded this...Can anyone get it to work on the X? I changed it to easy and flipped and flipped, tried going back to the Moto homescreen to see if that helped, but no dice...

Gesture Search (by Google) is a battery hog. My Seidio 1750 battery (a replacement and brand new) was draining a lot quicker than the one it was exchanged for, so after having it on for most of the day I decided to see what was causing the drain.
Gesture Search used the most battery out of all of the processes and it had the least amount of actual use. With my battery at around 70% after 12 hours (not much actual use today), Gesture Search had 47% of the battery use (the next highest being cell standby at 17%) and the actual time it was in use was 1m38s.
I don't know why that would be except that it has to always be running in the background (when setup for flip to open) and that maybe the cause of the battery drain. I'm going to set it to only open from the application shortcut and see if that alleviates the excessive battery drain. I'll let you know what I find.
I wanted to put this in the droid X section because the default way of searching contacts is horrible. I installed gesture search last night and now one of my few gripes with the phone is solved. I hated having to having to hold the options button to bring up a keyboard and then having to clear my last entry to start another search.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have the giant clock/weather widget on my homescreen (the one that comes on the phone when you first get it and the one most people probably use). I have seen animations of this clock on the HTC site that show the digits flipping over. And you would think it would do that anyway based on the design. However, I noticed my doesn't really flip. The digits just change instantaneously. No flipping animation. Is this just mine or is that how it is? I was actually hoping it would flip because I always thought it looked neat.

I have seen apps in the market that disable the launch of the google app, but the ring still shows up and cannot be used for another app.

well just baught this in the app store and its really confusing need some help like wen i open up the weather and toggle flip clock widget the time doesnt flip et dont know how to get/delete skins just iso someone who has this and knows how to run this.

If you don't know about it... long press an icon on your dock and you can program what you want the swipe gesture to do when you swipe up on the specified dock icon. I heard HTC made 3rd party makers like Weather Widget remove their similar designed flip clock widgets but is there any way to still get it somewhere on my Droid? I want the exact same look as the ones you see on HTC.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI had uninstalled the Weather Widgets app with the HTC style flip clock because I had falsely believed it was causing some FC crashed on my Droid. When I re-installed it, it appears that the flip clock now defaults to a transparent backing with white lettering. Is there any way to get it back to plain white with black lettering? I haven't installed any extras...just the default. Attached is a screen cap of what the flip clock looks like now. I want to get it back to the traditional HTC style flip clock look. Any ideas?

Default is nice, but I'd like to tweak it just a tad, and it says it's skinnable.I just haven't figured out how.well, as usual, as soon as I posted I went back and played with it some more, and it looks like you have to configure it as an app, then install the widget. If I long press it I can use the voice search but without this I am honestly tempted to go back to stock. Does anyone know how to re-associate the button properly? Rooting has been fun and all but the headache is starting to far outweigh the reward at this point. ADW launcher doesn't freeze like the default does but I would like to be able to search to get to things instead of diving 5 menus deep all of the time.

Is this a known issue with bugless beast 1.2 that I just have to deal with? I love having my phone rooted but id rather have a fully functioning phone that a rooted phone.
