General :: Every Reboot Is A Hard Reset?

Mar 21, 2013

I have an lg c800 -- mytouch q by lg

I rooted it yesterday and removed all the bloat. I also installed several root only apps to optimize the phone. It ran smoother than even right out of the box.

So, I figured it be a good idea to backup the rom, and maybe later try cyanogenmod... So I installed Rom Manager by clockworkmod

It said i needed to install clockwork recovery rom. I went in there but it said my device was unsupported (only like 12 were) so I backed out, and stupidly hit TWRP listed under "Recovery Already Installed". (thinking that meant what options I had to SETUP a recovery/backup)

I hit backup rom. almost instantly the phone restarted. After the bios, but before android it went to a screen with a box, and an arrow pointing from the inside of the box to the little android man. Then went to the regular android boot screen. It does this every reboot now. The SuperSU is still there, whenever Rom Manager (which I have to reinstall each reboot) asks for root access I get that dialog box, so it hasn't actually hard reset the phone I don't think. But all the user data, contacts, apps, wifi passwords, google id "(to access Play) get wiped out.

I understand what I did wrong. I think I understand what its doing (booting to the factory rom as it was, and I can't set it to stop doing it each reboot)

what I had previously, among other things, I had a bunch of tasker profiles and notes that will be time consuming to replace.

EDIT: SuperSU is now listed among the factory installed apps. This is unchanged each reboot.

Question: If I unroot the phone what that invalidate Rom Managers ability to run before android boots?

Android :: How To Add Hard And Soft Pauses To Contacts

May 11, 2010

Did you guys know you could add hard and soft pauses to your contacts' numbers? For example, I have a calling card which asks me a whole bunch of information, like the language I want the menu in, my account and pin, and the phone number I want to dial. All these things would be a huge pain to enter every time, and without having any kind of pausing mechanism, they would get sent prematurely. This is where hard and soft pauses come in.Check it out - How To Add Hard (Wait) And Soft (2-3 Sec) Pauses To Your Android Contacts

General :: Android 4.0.3 HTC ONE V - Hard Reboot / Crash During Calling?

Jun 5, 2012

When calling, roughly 3 out of 10 calls my phone just spontaneously reboots. It does no matter if I get called or if I am calling. It usually happens straight after a connection is established but in rare cases it also happens during the call. It had this since the beginning when I even did not install 1 app yet.

Other then the calling issue the phone is working flawlessly. I am running the stock Android 4.0.3 HTC ONE V (which I recently rooted, but the problem exists already before the rooting)

Below are the logs for one such crash

System log during call and crash reboot (at around 17:33):

General :: Allwinner Clone Soft Bricked - Black Screen / Reboot Loop And Recovery Corrupted

May 26, 2014

I have an Allwinner A10 clone (Kurio 7), it is designed for kids but otherwise a standard android tablet. After hours of googling I rooted and installed CWM & Gapps (not included in the stock ROM). So far so good. The stock ROM was causing issues with some apps, it needed to go.

I flashed CM10 and it worked but no touch screen. It needed a compatibility flash to make it work. You can guess what's coming. I picked the wrong one and now the device does the following:

Reboot loop
Black screen (backlight though)
PWR+Vol up no longer gets to recovery
Vibrates constantly between reboots (due to wrong patch I'm guessing)

ADB picks up the device for a split second between reboots but "adb reboot recovery" does nothing. Even when using wait command. Tried "fastboot flash recovery cwm.img" after wait command, no luck. Is there anything else I can try?

Motorola Droid :: Hard Keyboard

Dec 22, 2009

I come from the iPhone world, and I thought having a physical keyboard would be nicer. I don't know if it's because I got used to the iPhone, but so far I'm not thrilled with that keyboard, it's too easy to make mistakes and it's not comfortable.

One thing I noticed is that when you use the soft keyboard, it corrects you automatically and offers you suggestions as you type. How can I get the same features when using the hard physical keyboard?

Motorola Droid :: Hard Reboots With BB 0.9

Using Chevy 7 slot LV 1250. I have flashed my fair share of ROMS the past few days, but after a 3 time total wipe (consecutive) and a nandroid restore from a few days ago when it was very stable. My only suspects are a re-downloaded FB app and Dialer One. I am thinking of doing the 0.9 update.zip for good measure.

Motorola Droid X :: Difference Between 2.3.20 / 2.3.320?

Nov 29, 2010

My DX came with Android 2.2 v2.3.15. I flashed my first ROM, the rubiX Blurry 1.5.2 and when I checked my settings it said I was on Android 2.2 v2.3.15. Yesterday I flashed this rubiX Blurry 1.6.3 ANDROID DOES EXCLUSIVE and now it says I'm on Android 2.2.1 v2.3.20. How is that possible, I never flashed the new SBF leak file? Is there a difference between 2.3.20 & 2.3.320? Or did he just edit the build.prop and rename the os and build.

Motorola Droid X :: Is Droid X Is Constructed Out Of Anodized Aluminum Or Hard Plastic?

Jun 25, 2010

Is the Droid X is constructed out of anodized aluminum or hard plastic? Hard to tell from pictures, and I haven't found any official data on this.I'm hoping for a nice aluminum build like the Nokia N8/Moto Devour/ Original Droid, but even if it is a hard plastic, at least it's a matte finish which is superior to the "finger print magnet" finish of its rival EVO 4G.

Call quality and battery life. I looked at the Droid X and really didn't like the physical buttons. How many of you were disappointed by the physical buttons but have found them to be OK after using them?

Motorola Droid :: Hard Keyboard Space Button

Anyone else notice that the space key on the hard-keyboard is indented, or is this something wrong with mine? I like the keyboard in general, but the space is really annoying. The other keys are all essentially flat, or very slightly curved upwards. The space though is really pretty depressed inwards. I don't think it's worn out, as I really haven't used it much yet.

Motorola Droid :: Cases - Hard Shell Or Rubber?

Nov 4, 2009

Never had a phone that was worth buying a case for. I have a hard shell case on my iPod and it's done a good job keeping the thing from getting beaten up (despite my repeatedly dropping it).

Is one better than the other (hard case vs. rubber)? Also, will putting a case on the phone stop you from being able to slip it into that multimedia station?

Motorola Droid :: Difference Between Kernel And ROM?

Mar 4, 2010

1) What is the difference between kernel and a ROM? How do I know what kernel I am on? I know I am running the SholesMod ROM, but I am considering changing to another ROM. I seem to have FC's quite often and am trying to fix that. If I want to change a ROM will I need to change the kernel to make sure they are compatible?

2) I have SP Recovery installed. Is this part of the kernel? Is this installed in a separate place from the kernel/ROM? I'd like to feel assured that if I am installing a new kernel/ROM and something goes wrong, I don't have to worry about my SP Recovery being affected. But should I?...............

3) Nandroid backup... does this include everything on the device? Kernel, ROM, AND Recovery Mode?

I'm a newbie to hacking the Droid, but back in my PSP days, I know that the Recovery mode was stored on the same drive as the system files, and if you make a misstep when flashing a new firmware, you could lose recovery access. I'm just wondering where the recovery is located in the phones file system, and if I should really be concerned when flashing ROMs/kernels. Also, is there any way I could redirect it to load recovery from the memory stick, if the default recovery cannot load, just as a failsafe? Or if I lose recovery, could I somehow flash a new recovery via USB?

Motorola Droid X : Difference Between Back-ups / Which One Better?

Oct 14, 2010

So I have been doing messing around with my phone more and more and love it. I got some great advise before I started really messing with it and it was "back-ups are your friend" So as I read and do more I have noticed there are two different kind of system back ups. A android, which is created in recovery mode or a Current ROM back-up in ROM Manager.

My questions is which one is better, or what is the difference?

I'd prefer on-screen icons to 'click' for the
