View 29 RepliesI really like better keyboard pro except for one thing: when i type the phrase/word "lol" it always suggests "LOL" (all caps) and auto types it when i press space (auto-correct feature) the only problem is i almost never capitalize this word, any way to get it to stop doing this without disabling auto-correct?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWith my BlackBerry Storm there was a (I think it was called) a custom dictionary. I was able to type something like "OMW=On My Way" in a text message and it would substitute the words "On My Way" for the letters "OMW". Is there such a feature for the Droid with your application?

I am using the app "shopsavvy that uses the camera to scan/focus on a bar code but the auto focus works hard to focus and sometimes can't. Is anyone else experiencing this or similar issues with the camera? Do I need to take it back for a replacement?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI come from the iPhone world, and I thought having a physical keyboard would be nicer. I don't know if it's because I got used to the iPhone, but so far I'm not thrilled with that keyboard, it's too easy to make mistakes and it's not comfortable.
One thing I noticed is that when you use the soft keyboard, it corrects you automatically and offers you suggestions as you type. How can I get the same features when using the hard physical keyboard?
Anyone else notice that the space key on the hard-keyboard is indented, or is this something wrong with mine? I like the keyboard in general, but the space is really annoying. The other keys are all essentially flat, or very slightly curved upwards. The space though is really pretty depressed inwards. I don't think it's worn out, as I really haven't used it much yet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince rooting & installing Bugless Beast, my on screen keyboard no longer defaults to upper case when I select a text field. It used to automatically show the upper case layout when I'd select say, the text message compose field, and then drop to lower case after the first letter. Now I have to manually capitalize the first letter. I've checked to make sure that auto capitalize is enabled in system settings. Anybody else have this problem and find a way to fix it?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI had my physical keyboard open and I started to get word prediction at the bottom of the screen again. But I cant figure out how to get it every time the physical keyboard is open. Most of the time I get nothing but this is the second time I have seen this at the bottom. Anyone know what going on with this. There isn't a setting for it for built in keyboard settings page. I wish it would work all the time because it is a nice feature.

In my Storm, I set "u" to auto-correct to "you," "brb" to auto-correct to "be right back," etc. What apps are available that include this? I think Uber Dictionary does, but I'd like to find one that i can use with Swype.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to delete auto-correct suggestions? I'm typing to my gf and I get 'bane' instead of 'babe' when I type. I'm not writing a science fiction novel, nothing is the bane of my existance, so how in the hell can I get rid of that godawful word? "Hey Bane of My Existance, want to go out to eat tonight?"
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Casio Commando not that it should matter. I've gone to Settings, Language & Keyboard and can't find anywhere there to turn off Auto Correct when texting. I don't mind it suggesting words and then me selecting them but it drives me nuts when I type a word and hit space and it automatically changes the words. How to make this stop, I'm ready to ditch Go SMS Pro and try another messaging App at this point.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got a 3TB external drive drive hooked up to my Ouya running CM11 (Android 4.4)
I run Nzbget and Transmission in optware, and use CM primarily as a vehicle for XBMC so I need the space.
I had it in 2 ext4 partitions which needed a init script to mount under the stock OS.
I was hopping to get it working in a less hacky manner under CM.
I tried with the two parts, and no go so i redid it with one big partition with root as the UID and sdcard_rw as the GID.
Still no dice. I can access it in File Manager with elevated permissions, but no go in XBMC or other apps.
Also tried one big exFAT partioning with no luck.
I plugged in an 8g ntfs drive I had and it automounted it no problem.
What is the right way to configure the drive? We're a Linux household so sticking with ext2/3/4 would be ideal. NTFS I would like to avoid.
When using Google Hangouts to text on my Nexus 5, every time I enter a web url the string is spell checked and becomes un-clickable. Example:If I type: "whatismyandrioidversion.com" into a txt/sms chat using hangouts, the string is spell checked and auto corrected to "what is my android version.com".
So, then I have to go through a very annoying process of deleting the spaces between each word and fixing the url before I send the message.
I tried it and it works so far.
Dev = ne0fhyk from XDA.
From the XDA forum: Link to app page = [APP][ROOT/Keyboard] Keyboard Manager - Dual keyboard: Portrait/landscape switch - xda-developers
Verbage:
Keyboard Manager allows you to customize what keyboard (input method) appear on input based on your phone orientation.
It displays the keyboards you have enabled on your android device, and let you select one per orientation (landscape/portrait).
As your phone switch orientation, the app automatically switch the keyboard.
Requirements:
- Rooted android device (app was tested on Samsung captivate 2.1)
- Root Explorer app, or similar app that allows you to edit the permissions of a file.
To install:
1- Download the app (KeyboardManager.apk) on your device sdcard.
2- Using Root Explorer, move the apk file to /system/app
3- Using Root Explorer, edit the file permissions like below:
-- User: 'Read/Write' checked
--Group: 'Read' checked
--Others: 'Read' checked
4- Exit Root Explorer
The app should be visible in your launcher as 'Keyboard Manager'
Update:
- Added option to disable notification icon
-' start on boot' feature is disabled because it's not yet complete and tested... Sorry for the confusion
Bugs:
-On certain applications (i.e: Messaging on Samsung Captivate), the input window occasionally freeze on orientation switch. Exiting the app, and resuming should fix it.
The app is still in development.
I've got a cell phone with a hard T9 keyboard and running android 2.1. I need to get T9 keyboard function well on android, How?
I searched some information ( http://www.kandroid.org/android_pdk/keymaps_keyboard_input.html), can I achieve it by:
1. Writing keyboard layout map file.
2. Writing Key Character Map to support "multiple letters per key". ?
For instance when i type in the word "me" but when it auto corrects the e has a downward carrot above it. and it does this for many many words. language is in english, so not sure what it could be. i use for now the htc keyboard.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've downloaded the Swiftkey Keyboard and like it a lot but am a bit frustrated by the autocomplete concept they use. I guess there should be two options: autocorrect spelling mistakes I make and another option for autocompleting words I am trying to type. Too often I find that Swiftkey's "predicted" word option based on what I type is so far off that I end up sending a nonsensical message to people.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have read around a bit but I am kinda confused between different phones/versions using metamorph.
Last time I tried it and restarted I got stuck in a bootloop =P. I made a COMPLETE backup so going to give it a try shortly.
As I understand, I download metamorph from the market, move my themes into my sdcard metamorph folder, then basically run metamorph. I think BB.9 has busybox already taken care of.
I don't need to clear/wipe anything or whatnot for this to work correct, right?
So my gps location puts me close to 500 miles away from my actual location. Ive pulled battery, turned gps off n on, turned location settings off n on and I still cant get it to locate me correctly....any tips?
