I have the Motorola Droid 2 and Motorola S305 headset. I have paired them together, no problem; however, my phone keeps rebooting when I turn my headset off then back on, and sometimes they don't work when I am making a call. I really like these headphones (plus I'm really cheap ) and don't want to have to get another set.

I complained before of the phone constantly rebooting itself, however i find with wifi off, it does not constantly reboot, also noticed that i get only 1 signal bar everywhere in my house on wifi, where as on 3g i get almost full bars everywhere. I dont know what this means, since im new to verizon service. Is this normal as far as losing bars depending on wifi or 3g?

Under the "problems?" tab it talks about Busy Box being an issue and so I installed a know good Busy Box.. which got me farther along than the first 2 attempts, but still.. it rebooted again.

The issue:
When I have to restart my phone, all apps stop responding, including phone, google apps, everything. I can't make calls, I don't have a signal, nothing works really. The solution: uninstall recently installed applications, and that fixes it.
However, I wonder if there is something else going on causing this. The reason: Yesterday I installed Backgrounds (a popular 4-5 star application from Android Market). I had to reboot my phone (locked up), when I did, nothing was responding, got messages like acore, gapps, and other apps stopped unexpectedly. I removed Backgrounds, restarted again, and everything worked. My wife uses Backgrounds, but her phone doesn't stop working when she has to restart. Why is this happening on my phone? Is there another app causing interference?
Everyday I go to the gym and turn on my Motorola bluetooth headphones (Amazon.com: Motorola S305 Bluetooth Stereo Headset ) and then click on the Bluetooth widget on my EVO and after two beeps, I start hearing the phone through the headphones.
When I'm done, I tap on the Bluetooth widget and the phone freezes and then reboots. Sometimes it comes up with Bluetooth still turned on and when I tap it again, it reboots again. Every single time.
When I go to Settings>Wireless and uncheck Bluetooth it often does not reboot but sometimes it does.
Since it takes for.freakin.ev.er to come back after a reboot, I'd like to streamline my process and skip the reboot part.
(Not rooted. And I've never used the Bluetooth function for anything but this one headset. When not using headset, I keep Bluetooth turned off.)
I never really had an issue of reboots until recently, before I actually updated to froyo (week and a half or so) I started getting some random reboots.
Now I have been having some major problems, I am not sure if it is related to froyo or not, but i suddenly am getting a lot of more reboots, and when it does it will sometimes get stuck in a cycle of reboots and just keep going and going. Tonight it literally just kept rebooting over 10 times. I battery pulled multiple times and still was doing the same thing. Is there a reason this could be happening?
Yes I have done factory reset since install of 2.2, and actually right when i installed and did factory reset it got stuck in this cycle.
I have talked to verzion and they could not make it reboot so they said they could not do anything at the moment but put a note on the account.
So I have 2 reports now of my app causing a crash/reboot cycle the user can't always break from. I cannot reproduce this on my phone, and I am wondering what might be causing something like this? Would running out of memory or something cause this? Because I can't reproduce it, I can't look at the logs or anything.
Has anyone experiences anything similar? For reference, my app runs a foreground service which utilizes the AlarmManager. It starts automatically on boot_completed (which is probably why the cycle happens). One of the users who reported this, said it only happened when they plugged their phone into a PC.
Is it possible that the magnetic closure on the HTC leather holster is causing reboots on my EVO? I've wanted a leather holster since I got the EVO, but could find one I like and fit the phone. Yesterday, I decided to purchase the HTC holster from Sprint ($29.99). Since then, my phone as rebooted at least 6 times this morning - kinda annoying. It's not an app 'cause I haven't downloaded anything in days, so I figured that maybe the magnets (which are right there by the back of the phone) are interupting something.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used Z4root to root my DX. I then installed Rom Manager and Droid X Recovery Bootstrap. I clicked "Bootstrap Reocvery" and then tapped "Reboot Recovery". It rebooted me into ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.0.6. I made a backup and rebooted my phone. Now my Market wont work, I can't flash anything from Rom Mananger (the latest CW recovery is 2.5.0.7 not 2.5.0.6), my Email won't sync. Things are going haywire! Seems like my data isn't working or something? When I unrooted and unistalled everything, the Market worked again, but the Clockwork Recovery was still on my phone. How is that possible if Droid X Recovery Bootstrap is uninstalled?

Its only noticeable for me on brighter backgrounds since its a dark gray or black box thats flickering. It seemed to go away after uninstalling Launcher, but I really liked using it so would like to know if theres a fix or at least a confirmation that its happening to others.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've noticed poor call quality ever since I've had a wireless router in the house. I wasn't sure if it was just the phones, or if having so many wireless things is interfering with reception. I haven't had this problem with the home phones in the same room.
Outside, and even in a store with poor cell reception in the back, my droid did what my other phones could not. However, at home near all the computers and wireless madness, the call quality periodically goes south, and I occasionally drop to 1x. Are all of these waves bumping into my phone, or could it simply be the pipes?
I just bought SetCPU last night, and ever since installing it, I've had issues with sending and recieving txt messages, for example, I'll have 3-4 bars of 3G and the txt will either not send out, or if someone sends me a txt, I'll get about 3 all at once from them. Maybe its just how I have setcpu setup, I let the app decide best speed for my phone 900max 250 min, and I set it on interactive at first, then changed it to performance to see if that made a difference with txts.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI removed CityID without making a backup after root(I know dumb), but I was able to find an .apk of it off the net to download but am still getting a assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app/CityID.apk" error. I am assuming its file permission error, if so, what are the file permissions supposed to be and how do I change them? Or if there is a way I can goto a stock Droid X straight from the factory that would work as well. (I have tried doing the stock factory restore from the phone itself but it fails to re-install CityID).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus 4 running Android 4.3 (build JWR66Y), with the stock ROM. I recently started using other launchers, at first Nova. I did notice, however, random reboots ever since. I thought it might be some new apps, but even uinstalling them didn't solve the problem. Then I switched to Action Launcher, and after a few hours of use, the reboots started all over again.
Now I'm running only the original launcher, no troubles at all. How to solve this issue with third party launchers?
First off, let me state my phone is rooted, but this problem happened pre root as well. Certain applications, the two I think I've noticed doing it so far, were weather bug, and temp monitor. That have on going notifications, will randomly cause my phone to not turn back on from sleep. I have to do a battery pull just to get the phone back up.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have tried this on 4 Different Roms (Smoked Glass 4, 5, 6 and Nextheme 0.9) And no matter what I do, if I use a custom sound for notifications, the phone upon restart will boot loop indefinitely, and the only way I can make it stop is to VERY quickly slide the mute left so the phone is muted the next time it boots, then it stops, or if I cant get that to work, I have to restore from a nandroid backup. I have the files on my sd card in /media/audio/notifications All lower case (but have tried with a cap) The only things that hasnt changed, is that I have only tried mp3 files. But I also tried, by using the Zedge Ringtones App to the same effect. Whats the deal? Any Ideas?

Edit: Also worth note as it may help, its only notifications that causes this issue, custom ringtones and alarms are fine. Even using the same short (8 second) Mp3 as a ringtone causes no issue. And the mp3 plays in the list of notifications when you select it, as it should. The only thing i can think of is possibly that the phones mp3 decoder loads after the boot up sound? Is that even logical?
I have a rooted behold 2 [stock] and when I push libwebcore.so into system/lib , the phone hangs after I reboot. I have tried it with a couple of different libwebcore.so files [one from android 1.5 and 2.1] with the same outcome. It sounds like the system is checking for corrupt files or so when it boots and doesn't go any further if its numbers don't match up. Any ideas ?
The reason I'm trying to do this is that i want to be able to read arabic properly on webpages. I have already installed the arabic font [thanks to BH_Man] and all the characters are displayed. However, the browser renders the order of the letters backward [from left to right instead of the opposite].
I currently running Smoked Glass V6.0.1. I tried updated my google maps to 4.1.1 and I get a invalid signature. According to google mobile help forums I am receiving this error because my build number doesn't match specific build numbers their application is designed to work with.
Has anyone else experience this problem?
For what ever reason, app acting stupid, something not working right, whatever? I have been adding apps, tinkering with phone settings, I think my average now is twice a day to set things straight again.

1. Plantronics Discovery 975. I've got 2 of these actually one for my PlayStation 3 and one for my Droid. It's the main Bluetooth headset I use these days. Sound quality is excellent. It sticks in your ear with no hoop, is comfortable to wear for long periods of time. It comes with a little leather case with a battery built in so that you can recharge the headset up to 3x when away from AC power. Has a little LCD panel to show you charge of both devices. (Infinitely easier than deciphering how many blinks equals what battery charge!) Best voice. You may see them on this seasons "24" as it's the headphone of choice at CTU
2. Plantronics Discovery 925. Earlier version of the 975. Great for call quality, battery life etc. Comes with same little case. Design is a little different but it gets the job done. No LCD screen on the case. Mainly used with my work Blackberry. Uses MicroSD charger, so you get an extra for your Droid!
3. Aliph Jawbone2. Much smaller than the original. Very tiny and chic. Great sound quality (it uses a little nub to detect vibration in your jaw to know when to isolate outside noise (using it's patented NoiseAssassin) so you could be on a crowded street and still be pretty clear. Only downsides are the battery life isn't amazing and the proprietary charger plus it only comes with a USB. (Becoming less of an issue these days as I'm starting to acquire a ton of AC USB chargers)
4. Plantronics Discovery 520. My original work Bluetooth headset. Does a decent job but is a little bulky. The ear hook makes it a bit uncomfortable to wear for long periods and not quick to get on. Has a proprietary weird shaped charging port. Battery life was average if that.
My droid is terrible the motorola s305. keeps restarting, etc. i need a proven headset for both talking to people and listening to music. something that has worked for others.

Connection wise, I can use the charging USB cable, an USB Type A female to female gender changer, then plug an USB headset onto it. Of course this is not for mobility. I most certainly did not slam it down or anything.....just set it there gently like always. Also, I noticed that when my X is on the charger, every now and then it will freeze up and reboot itself.
