View 2 RepliesBiggest thing I'm concerned about...can the X be woken up by one of the front hard buttons? Without 3rd party app?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI tried searching for this but couldn't find a thread that discussed it. My power button appears as though its been jammed. I dropped my phone on its corner where the power button is but I don't think thats what the problem is. Anyhow, recently my power button responds but I have to really press it hard and it as though the button is jammed cause it doesn't depress as far.
My question is that is there a way to designate the camera button to become the power button? I know on some phones you can make different buttons do different things and I was curious if this was possible on the Droid.
Anyone else notice that the space key on the hard-keyboard is indented, or is this something wrong with mine? I like the keyboard in general, but the space is really annoying. The other keys are all essentially flat, or very slightly curved upwards. The space though is really pretty depressed inwards. I don't think it's worn out, as I really haven't used it much yet.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIf there's an existing app that offers the same functionality as the default stock options that the hard buttons do.
I'd prefer on-screen icons to 'click' for the
MENU | HOME | BACK | SEARCH
selections that the hard-buttons offer. Do any of the home replacement apps do this? Again, I am not interested in reassigning what the buttons currently do, but looking for any on-screen options instead.
I just got my Droid but the power button seems to feel mushy clicky instead of how a button should feel with a proper click when engaging. What about you guys? Mine like mushy click feel but if I press dead center then its a near perfect less mushy click.
View 31 Replies View RelatedIm sending in my droid to verizon since my power button was not working and they sent me a replacement. Before I sent it in I wanted to remove root so I went into rom manager and chose a stock image to flash hoping it would do the job. Unfortunately, after I did it Superuser permission is still there. I would just use RSD Lite but since I cant get my phone to access the boot loader screen I cant get RSD Lite to recognize my phone. I was going to try to flash the older stock image from rom manager thinking maybe that would work but now when I try and flash any rom through rom manager I get this message; "an error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands". I also read that maybe quick boot would do the trick but it just force closes every time, making me think that maybe the phone isnt rooted but just has superuser permission listed(is that possible)? Is my phone still rooted?
View 22 Replies View RelatedI've had my droid for about a week now and about two days ago the power button stopped working and is now completly unresponsive.I can't power off the phone without taking out the battery. Good thing that sliding the keyboard out wakes the screen so I can unlock it.I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this problem or is it possible this is just a defect and I should get a replacement also I have tried doing the factory reset to see if it was some app I may have installed causing the problem but its still not working.
View 1 Replies View Relatedsame as with HTC desire, go to settings, accessibility, check power button ends call and you can now instantly end call by pressing the power button instead of waiting for the screen to light up then pressing end call
View 14 Replies View RelatedSo I just got off the phone, and again I hit the sleep button to end the call, which doesn't actually end the call. So I was thinking, is there an app that will allow this? Or can someone make one? I would if I was able to, but I'm not so I'm asking. I guess I can't break the hardware button habit and move the the full touch future.
View 14 Replies View RelatedSo I have the Droid X but I noticed that the Droid 2 now has a themed version of Swype to fit in with the rest of the UI. I like it a lot.
My question is this. When you push the voice-to-text button does it pop up a window like earlier versions of Swype or does it do the really fast and slick thing that the multi touch keyboard does (just replace the keyboard with the audio waveform thing).
Just last week I finally rooted my Motorola Droid (thanks for the help)! All was good until today when I woke up and the power button didn't work.It was intermittently working this afternoon, and now it does nothing.I was ready to unroot the phone so I could take it back to Verizon when I realized that I can't get into the bootloader screen without the power button.I tried holding the D-pad up while reinstalling the battery and I also tried the camera and volume down buttons while reinstalling the battery. The battery removal and reinstall just doesn't seem to be working to put it into the bootloader screen.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy top power button is completely stuck, out of no where, no drops or anything, just seems like it is stuck in its housing. I tried everything, banging on table, xacto blade and prying up but nothing. Just doesn't budge. Replacement will be here in a couple days.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI'm new here. I just got my droid yesterday. I looked threw the forums and I see people asking for apps that change how the slide works. Im okay with the sliding I just cant stand hitting the power button to turn on the phone. I wanted to know if theres a app test disables the need to hit the power button so all I have to do is slide my finger across the screen and it turns on? Sorry if somebody posted this I did look for the answer but I didn't see one.
View 13 Replies View RelatedMy power/lock button no longer works. Phone hasn't been dropped, only had it for 3 days and it's been babied. I hoped pulling the battery and rebooting might help, but it didn't. In fact, after that the only way to get it to reboot was to plug it into my computer via USB.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been searching for an application to replace the need to press the power button up top in order to get the screen activated so that I can start using my phone once the screen powers off. I am hoping there is some kind of application that can do this just by changing the way the phone is held like if its accelerometer changes by a certain number of degrees or something like that.

View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I've been dealing with the whole broken lock/power button issue for a while with my droid. Now I've been looking into rooting it and was looking into the directions on how to do it when i realized you need to use the lock/power button in the whole rooting process. Is there any way around this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just replaced my Motorola Droid. Before when in the middle of a call or to hang up a call i just pull the phone away from my head and the screen would come on... or, i would have to use the power up button on the top of the device then swipe to unlock. Now in the middle of a call the power button is not working nor does the screen illuminate when i pull away from my head.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to reprogram a hard button? I could do this on my HTC Tilt that ran WindowsMobile 6.1. I would like to be able to make the long press on the "call" button go to vlingo rather than voice dial and I can't find a way to do it in settings....

View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there an app out there that can power down the phone without having to hold the power button? I am not talking about reboots, I mean a full power down from using only the touchscreen?
View 11 Replies View RelatedOnly started happening since the most recent update. before that it was good. Updated both phone and computer side software and now it locks up my 64bit windows ultimate machine every 2nd time I log into PhoneMyPc. I can log in once fine, the second time will cause the computer to freeze.
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust thinking, should the Push Gmail use less battery power than "Pull" such as Yahoo Mail. It would seem that the pull process is having to go look every 15 min and the Push process is merely sending it as it arrives.
