I don't understand this. When you hit the back button after following a link, you go back to the previous page, but not where you left off. The browser seems to just throw you somewhere near the top of the page. Is there a settings fix for this, or is it just how it works?

I have the tronsmart CX-919 mini pc running 4.2 and there is an issue with the browser reverting back to the home page or the previous page. When I try to display a webpage on our intranet it reverts back to the homepage or previous page after about 3 hours. I need it to display constantly. I read somewhere that it was a Download Manager issue and disabling it would work but I can't find where to disable it. Also it was stated that Flash was an issue but i tried uninstalling it and it just reinstalled itself and the problem kept occurring. I just want to display a page in a browser and for it to stay on the screen (full screen) until I manually navigate away from it. I plan to leave it on for weeks at a time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my htc desire s to the official 3.5 sense version and them to the endymion rom and both have something quite annoying in all browsers I have tried (dolphin, stock and boat browsers).
What happens is pressing back sends me to the top of a web page, meaning I have to press back twice to get to the previous page. It's not a huge deal, just a minor annoyance.
So my gps location puts me close to 500 miles away from my actual location. Ive pulled battery, turned gps off n on, turned location settings off n on and I still cant get it to locate me correctly....any tips?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an android application with a LOT of activities, think of something like a book where every page is a new activity. The user can make changes in each activity, for example highlight certain texts with different colored markers etc. and it's crucial that I'll remember this information as long as the application stays alive (and I don't want/need to remember any of this when it's not). As I understand the best mechanism for storing this kind of information is via onSaveInstanceState(Bundle outState) and onCreate(Bundle)/onRestoreInstanceState(Bundle) rather than lets say, the Preferences mechanism. My only problem is that the user can navigate backwards to previous pages (Activities) and the only way i know of achieving this is by calling finish() which of course kills the current activity without calling onSaveInstanceState(Bundle outState) and even if it did call it, the next time I would launch an activity representing that page it would be an entirely new instance. So my question is: Is there a way to go back to the previous activity without calling finish()? or, is there a better way to save this information? maybe through static variables?

I just got an Eris while we were in Mesa, Arizona last week. Now we are 150 miles away, and the clock on the home page still shows the "Mesa", with the weather for Mesa, AZ.
How do I change it to show our current location? I have tried adding cities in the Weather app.

Using an HTC Incredible, we see the scrollbars are again missing, but we cannot figure out any gesture that allows the user to scroll. Is there a special directive we need to add to our HTML? View 2 Replies View RelatedThere are a couple of options within the browser I didn't find until after searching for it, so I thought I would share it with the rest of the community in order to help out.
-Everyone should clear the browser cache and previous history in order to save internal phone memory. To do this go to BROWSER press the MENU button and press MORE. There should be a list of things in there but what you should be interested in is the last item which is SETTINGS. From there in privacy settings there will be options to clear both cache and history.
- Another little tip I wanted to share was viewing webpages in landscape mode without opening your keyboard. To do this simply press the MENU button from within the BROWSER and go down to FLIP ORIENTATION. You should realize tho by doing this you browser will continue to be in landscape the next time it's used. In order to return it to it's normal portrait mode just follow these steps once again.
-There are a number of other things you can mess around with or find with the MENU button within the browser so just take a look at it yourself even if you don't want to do any of these tips.
I have an activity that has a button which opens a new MapActivity to select a location by tapping on the map.
The map has an overlay that overrides the onTap method to get the location but I want to return that location to the previous activity but, I don't know how to return the geopoint to the mapactivity in order to call the setResult() and finish() methods, because I can't call them from the Overlay.onTap method.
There is a "switch calls" button when I answer a call on call waiting, but is there any way to switch to the previous call, hang up, and come back to the new call? I tested it today and I hung up on everybody.
