I have an specific requirement to change default home page of Android Browser which is by deafult "google.com" Can any give an idea how to change it like when I click on browser it should come like "yahoo.com".

I was using an LG Lucid up until a couple days ago, and for a while now it stated trying to open up "goolgle" as the default page when opening the browser. I figured it was just the phone acting retarded since it was rooted and romed and it's been randomly restarting a lot too, so who knows...
So I bought a Galaxy Nexus second hand and it works great. But ever since I signed into my Google account with it it's started doing the same freaking thing! Opens up "goolgle" when I open the browser.
I know the google search bar at the top in ics is not just a google search, since you can adjust searchable items to include other apps, contacts, etc. But I primarily use it as a go to search engine from my home screen.
I have been using dolphin hd browser and while it is the default browser for opening links in gmail, etc, the search bar results always default to the stock browser when you click on them.
Seems that whenever I open the browser it goes to my last page visited, rather than the default home page (Google.) How can I make it go to Google whenever I open the browser from home?

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe default Browser application on my HTC Hero v1.5 just keeps coming up with the standard "Web page not available" page when I try to connect to any website. This happens when I use GSM, 3G, HSDPA or Wifi to connect.
I generally use Opera Mini to access the web and this works perfectly, it was only when I used the Dolphin Browser (to access a site that doesn't display properly in Opera) that I realised it wasn't connecting and coming up with this message, so I tried the default Browser and realised this had the same issue. I then tried Skyfire and this also did the same!
All other applications are fine and can connect to the internet perfectly well. As I said above the Opera Mini browser works perfectly but this may be to do with it proxying the data so therefore works slightly differently to all the other browsers.
So it seems like something is amiss with my settings / files that the default Browser, Dolphin and Skyfire use.
It seems after the device has been running for a day or two, the Internet browser will cease to fully load web pages. The load bar will get to some point and stop and the page never fully loads. No other web based apps are affected. At first I would restart the device and that, of course, would fix it. Lately I ended up just force stopping the browser and that fixed it as well.

However, it is not only the system default, but it even opens links I click on in the Android provided browser (sometimes I both open). On your computer, when you click links in your non-default browser it doesn't send the links to the default one, and it shouldn't on this OS, either. Any ideas how to keep Dolphin as my system default browser, but not have it open links I click on in the Android web browser?

How can I change this? I tried homepage for google and 'home' goes to google but just starting the prog from the icon/widget still tries (and fails when on WiFi) to go to orange.

The thing is I can't figure out how to use it or set it as my browser. I can't even find it on my applications, but it says that it's installed when I go to the Market. Well my bookmarks mainly and I chose the stock. Now, I'm in Nigeria and the internet isn't great on my phone, but I'm getting a 100Mb allowance today. When I try to display a webpage on our intranet it reverts back to the homepage or previous page after about 3 hours. I need it to display constantly. I read somewhere that it was a Download Manager issue and disabling it would work but I can't find where to disable it. Also it was stated that Flash was an issue but i tried uninstalling it and it just reinstalled itself and the problem kept occurring. I just want to display a page in a browser and for it to stay on the screen (full screen) until I manually navigate away from it. I plan to leave it on for weeks at a time.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times and nothing changes. The only way to view it in english is to scroll down to the bottom of the google homepage and press "Google.com in in English". Once I close the browser and come back its back in Spanish. Any ideas or suggestions?

Using an HTC Incredible, we see the scrollbars are again missing, but we cannot figure out any gesture that allows the user to scroll. Is there a special directive we need to add to our HTML? This should affect zillions of websites, any time someone is trying to scroll an area of the page rather than the whole page.
