View 18 RepliesI just flew from Raleigh, NC (eastern) to Chicago (central). The clock on the phone has the correct time but the weather/clock widget that came with the dinc is still on eastern time. When i tap on the widget the screen it takes me to shows the correct time but when I go back to the homescreen it's back to eastern. Any idea what's going on here?

View 2 Replies View RelatedCan anyone recommend a weather widget that displays the current weather based on location? Preferably cell tower info instead of gps and one that only used data every set interval based on my settings so that it doesn't use data constantly.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIt just says 'my location' on the home screen, shows the time but not the weather.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried removing it and adding it back about ten times and it still won't show the weather..just says "my location" under the clock. If I click on the clock and load it, I can then click on the clock and it will load the weather screen, updated and all...but it still refuses to load it on the home screen with the time. Happened a few days after froyo update. How can I get the weather back as part of the clock widget??

HTC Weather Widget broken?
Mine worked for a day and now I get the location but no weather update.
All other locations display all info fine.
Im in Australia on Vodafone - although from the previous mentioned thread seems to be software related rather than carrier location
So I got the 2.2 Update. If I try adding the News & Weather widget, the weather is always wrong. Always has the sun on all night and temperature is wrong too. I checked all options of course, should work fine. Has anyone else encountered this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedHi, i have HTC Hero When I first turned it on (after buing it) it showed me weather in the weather widget for te city I turned it ON. Then I moved to another town, and since few days the whether widget shows me city i bought the phone, and not the city I'm in. I tried having gps on, localization by wireless network on and so on, and it still does not update to correct city. What Can I do for it to work?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have two EVOs at home (mine and the wifes) and both have the same problem, the weather app is set to use the gps location yet it returns the wrong location. The location isn't just off a little bit either, it reports our location as being a city over 160 miles away. I find sometimes the gps reports the location wrong in the maps as well. Is there a way to calibrate the how, and is anyone else experiencing this issue? It doesn't seem to be signal problem as I am in a strong 4g location and when off of 4g always on 3g.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Hero rebooted itself when i cut it off and cut it back on due to aggravation of lag. after spending half the day fooling with getting back some apps, my contacts from google and the whole issue with syncing facebook to my contacts. i thought i could easily just look up my city for the weather widget location.
Well before the reboot my weather showed just fine, my location and everything. now my city isn't even in the data base and my gps and such is turned on. some of the directions ive read on using the gps to find my location has become a headache because i don't think i have those features.
When i go into my weather settings and click the + sign it goes straight to search location. i type in the name of my city and it doesn't come up.
after the froyo upgrade I cant get my location to update with or with out GPS enabled.....any one else having this problem?
View 8 Replies View RelatedDo you have to leave your GPS on all the time, thereby killing battery? Or does it triangulate using cell towers (which I presume uses less battery?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy weather widget worked fine until last week when I got back from Tunisia and now, rather than showing where I am (Totton, Southampton) it is now showing the weather for the United Kingdom. How I can get it back to showing where I am?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe weather widget on my Incredible shows my location correctly, but the actual temperature reading is usually somewhat off of the temp from the weather channel widget (right now it is 7 degrees less). Does anyone know where HTC gets its info from? I like having the temperature displayed under the clock, but not if it is inaccurate. I also compared the HTC temp to a reading off of a wireless window thermometer and it did not agree.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to disable the 'my location' setting on the HTC Weather Widget? I frequently go to areas where there is no weather data available and would prefer it to stay on, say, London. But I can't see any way of doing this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have htc one x and sometimes the clock and weather widget gives me a location in chinese language. However, I live in Portugal and OS language is Portuguese.
I removed widget and put it again, restart, safe mode, clear cache and data in weather app... But all these steps failed.
This issue happened before and after hard reset.
Device is updated to 4.2.2
I'm talking about the default clock/weather widget that is on the home screen...
Is it possible to make it so the widget shows weather info for a user-specified location? I was able to add an additional location once inside the HTC Weather app (by scrolling down), but I have had no luck finding anywhere to change the location that appears on the actual home screen.
It wouldn't be such a problem since it does correctly display my location (New York), but it is WAY off in terms of weather. For example, the widget is showing 72 degrees when it's actually 85. That's a HUGE difference and it's bothering me a lot.
I'm assuming it is pulling weather data from somewhere in upstate NY and not from NYC (where I am)? The manual entry I added is showing correct info, but it's very annoying having incorrect data showing up on the home screen and having to click into the widget and then scroll down to get the actual info.
i'm beginning to think that in 2.2, if you have a lower signal strength (such as i do in my house), it can't tell your location anymore. in my house, wiht 2.1, it always told me my town. now, with 2.2, it says, fro the most part with a lower signal, "current location." however, when i turn wifi on, it'll tell me my town right away, leading me to believe that since my wifi signal is great in my house, it's giving me the correct location.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've had my Hero on Orange for 4 or 5 days now and apart from when I first switched on the phone the weather app has just said "No weather data available" and the clock/weather widget has just had my location. I have the "location by cell" thing switched on, and I did manage to get it working once with the GPS, but other than that it just displays my location. It's the same whatever location I am in. The other cities download the weather just fine (London, Paris, New York, etc.). It's not like I'm somewhere tiny either, I am in Bromley. It doesn't make any difference whether I'm using WiFi or 3G.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI updated to v2 of the 2.1 leak several days ago. Since the update, I have noticed that the weather/clock widget that changes depending on your location, no longer works. All it says is "My Location" where the weather should be. I tried removing the widget from the home screen and replacing it, yet that didn't work. When replacing it, I was given the choice of weather for "Add a city", new york, and my location and I chose my location yet the weather never updated. In the weather app, there is also no screen for the leather in my current location, just New york, which can be deleted.

View 6 Replies View RelatedRunning 2.1v3, for the life of me I cannot get the sense widget app to change from saying "current location". i try to add a location but it wont find the one I'm at. I never had to do manually enter a city before.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI tap weather icon, get current location no city name and the weather info, I then tap "+" hit my location and it finds my city Corning NY, I add this to the weather app, I close out and hit weather app again and now I have to locations, the one that says current location and the one that says Corning NY, both weather datas are the same. My question is how to I delete or get rid of the current location weather data screen and have only the Corning NY screen when I open the weather app? The data for both is the same but I don't want 2 locations(one named) for the same data.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have News and Weather set to "Use my location". Up until yesterday, it was working fine. Now the weather tab gives me the message "No weather location available." It will only give me weather if I enter a specific location. I have GPS turned on and other applications that need to find my location, such as Compass, seem to be able to.
