I just got an Eris while we were in Mesa, Arizona last week. Now we are 150 miles away, and the clock on the home page still shows the "Mesa", with the weather for Mesa, AZ.
How do I change it to show our current location? I have tried adding cities in the Weather app.

When I try to display a webpage on our intranet it reverts back to the homepage or previous page after about 3 hours. I need it to display constantly. I read somewhere that it was a Download Manager issue and disabling it would work but I can't find where to disable it. Also it was stated that Flash was an issue but i tried uninstalling it and it just reinstalled itself and the problem kept occurring. I just want to display a page in a browser and for it to stay on the screen (full screen) until I manually navigate away from it. I plan to leave it on for weeks at a time.

View 10 Replies View Relatedi've had my phone about 3 weeks now. up until last week, the htc weather widget would update to my current location. when i was home, it would show the town i live in. i also had the google internet option to use my location and this would also work perfectly until last sunday.now, the weather location was stuck on miami no matter where i went (as far north as west palm beach) and the internet shows up 'location unavailable'. i have found out that the gps is picking up where i am in goggle maps but it seems that the cell towers are not as far as weather and internet location are concerned. i have tried all of the obvious settings.i did a factory reset and now my weather says ft lauderdale which is closer to me but still not my town. it does not update (manually either) as i move. the internet location still says location unavailable although for a fleeting minute after the factory reset, it DID locate me....then it was gone so i called verizon, they didn't have a clue. then i took it to the store and it turns out EVERY phone the tech tried in the store had the same problem, including his. he told me it was a google problem and there was nothing he could do about it. i felt if i tried explaining how that would make it a verizon problem as well, it would be a losing battle

I am not living near a big city listed on the weather location list and when at home, the current location usually is indicated some dozen miles away from my home. This could be a cosmetic problem, but in the Alps (where I am living) weather a short distance away can be quite different from where you are.

Every time I open up my browser, it opens a new window with Google, over the one I had precious been viewing. I'm running Home++ with 2.0.1. Is there an option I can toggle to change this feature back, so the browser will simply pick up where it left off, and not opening a new window?

1, change the url hash without the webview reloading the page (it would lose the state of my js app)
2, call some js that sits within my web page from within android. I can't change any JS within the site, unfortunately, so can't custom write any js to put on the site especially for the job, the only stuff I have control over is the Android app.
Can anyone think of a way of doing either of these?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Droid Eris for my wife. When you start Google Maps on her phone it pins "My Location" as somewhere in Northern India. Additionally, the weather HTC clock/weather widget on the home screen is showing weather for that location. The only way that I can get it to detect the correct location is to turn turn off cellular/wifi location detection and use gps exclusively. I have seen one or two posts on the Verizon forums claiming that the Eris is incapable of determining location using the cellular network and will only work with gps outdoors. I have looked through the forums here but can't seem to find any similar posts. Is anyone else having this problem with the Eris or could it possibly be a problem with this particular phone? I am hoping it is just this phone in which case I can take it back and exchange it for another one. After showing her so many different apps on my Droid that use location detection to give local information, it would be a shame if these will only work outdoors with a clear view of the sky.
