On the charger all night and this morning did not hear it at all, woke up 30mins after I set it to go off, does anyone have this issue or know why and how to get it working....it was on battery saver mode if that's the reason, I have it on the charger now and on smart mode to see if it will sound off.

I first tested the alarm out and set it to go off in 2 minutes. it worked. so I set it for my morning alarm and to play an mp3. it said that it will go off in 6 hours. morning rolls by and it never goes off. i check it and its still set, but never went off. another problem that happened was my music player would not work after this incident. i would click load play list and it would take my to a blank screen. the previous song wouldn't play either. i had to reset my device to fix it.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI tried several alarm clocks on my droid, and they all seem to have a problem. if I set alarms for 6:30, 6:41, and 6:52 am. Each with a different sound. If i snooze alarm 1, alarm 2/3 never goes off. i thought all 3 would be seperate, but it seems only 1 can be active at a time. unless im doing something wrong. this happens on the default alarm clock and, better alarm clock.

Once I press the power button it starts sounding the alarm that was set. Any idea what could be going on? Currently I don't have any third party apps installed on my phone.

I downloaded superdial, which has this capability, but it is running a bit slow.
Does anyone else have some comments on other dialers that can do this.
By this I mean that if I want to call DAD, I type in 323 and it brings up DAD in the address book. I have 700 contacts, and cant try scrolling to find names!
I plan to go to verizon later today to see what they say, but i anticipate little to no help from them... so i decided to post this here. i tried the forced update to the stock 2.2 a couple weeks ago to no avail... kept getting this error every time i tried:

Installation Aborted, so i decided to wait for the OTA update... had it waiting for me when i got up this morning... pressed install and let it go to work... came back 20 minutes later and it was still on the triangle w/ exclamation logo... so i let it sit longer... came back yet another 10 minutes later it was on the Motorola logo and just stayed there for about 5+ minutes (i let it sit for awhile to make sure it was done) so i took out the battery and restarted... and no update still "2.1 Update 1" now what do i do?
I've had my DX for about a week now. At first the battery life was just terrible. Now it seems to be improving a little bit more every day. I didn't install a task killer or anything either.I saw some threads where some have experienced this with other phones but didn't see any with the DX. Anyone else have a similar experience with the DX? Sorry if this has already been discussed. I looked but didn't see it.

Its unreliable and its the only thing i absolutely hate about this phone. Is anyone else having this problem? seems like something petty to visit the VZ tech for, but i've been late to work too many times since getting my phone.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI installed the latest Facebook app on my Droid today and found that it synced most of my contact photos beautifully. (I chose the second option: only to sync photos with my current contacts) However, one minor issue and two less minor issues:
- For one of my contacts, the picture didn't sync. Dunno why but I guess I can just add the photo manually.
- Another thing is weird. After making a call I've noticed that in my dialer's "favorites" tab, there is a contact who I am friends with on Facebook but whom I do not have the number for, nor whom I have ever called at all! This person keeps reappearing (with FB profile pic and email address) in my dialer app, but the person is not in my actual Google / Android contacts.
Any ideas on how to fix that latter issue? Whenever I delete this person's listing from the Favorites tab, they keep reappearing after I make calls (to other people) O_o
Oh, and since we're talking about the Facebook app..
- Is there any way for Facebook to use the Android notification system to let me know about any new FB notifications? As it is, I'll be on the computer and see some new notifications, but on my Droid I have to manually refresh notifications in the app before it knows about them. Kinda weird.
On my HTC droid, my alarm clock stopped working. It will light up and vibrate, but it won't play any sound. I have tried having the phone at full volume, adjusting everything, and I can't get it to work. Has anyone had this problem?? Any solutions?

1.Dont you have to root to be able to upgrade to a different software type? I rooted before in stalling greek35 2.1, then upgraded to HC2.1, do i have to reroot?
2. Rooting is just, using the update.zip file you download, then using droidroothelp.apk program, mount3, update those 3 things, flash 15.0, rename, reboot ect...so basically as long as you have SU app on your phone your rooted no?
Now boot animation question
I downloaded a boot animation, connected my phone with usb debugging, used the cd command and abd push bootanimation.zip /data/local, rebooted and the boot animation didnt change..after i used the push command, it said x.xkb transfered in 1.23seconds or whatever...any suggestions?

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriend recently got the HTC Tattoo (running Android 1.6) and she's having major issues with the alarm on the Clock application. Whenever she sets the alarm to wake up in the morning, it doesnt go off at the desired time. There's no sound or not waking of the screen. The alarm does finally sound when the screen is woken, and this can be 20 minutes or so after the alarm *should* have sounded! It works ok if the alarm is set to go off in 5 minutes time or so, but it seems like Android forgets to ring the alarm until the screen is woken and then does it.Can anyone provide any insight into this issue? I have seen that there are other threads where the alarm doesn't work but they dont cover this behavior.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI've read through the other suggested alarm threads but didn't find a solution.In my case the screen turns on but the alarm screen does not display nor does any alarm sound or vibration happen. I do not have a task manager installed and i verified via the QuickSettings app that the alarm volume is turned up. It has been many days since I had power cycled my phone.I tried setting a new alarm a few minutes from the current time and it did not activate at all same thing: no alarm screen, no sound or vibration.I power cycled my phone and setup a new alarm. This time it worked perfectly.Is Android killing the phone app at some point to free up memory? Do I need to activate the clock app before I go to bed to make sure its running? But what if it gets killed overnight--odds aren't likely as I won't be using it.

I have had my phone replaced once and the replacement phone has worked very sporadically when I set the alarm to go off for me to wake up at 6:30 AM. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong? Looks like the 1st time when I activate my alarm, it worked. But it didn't for the subsequent days.Anybody has any idea what went wrong here? Is there any other alarm clock freeware that could helps?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I never used the alarm before (in 2.1 or 2.2) I was using the stock alarm clock in 2.2 for the first time this morning. But when the alarm went off, there was no sound, only vibration (fortunately the sound of the vibration on the table was enough to wake me up!). The first issue is that there was no ringtone sound even though the volume was on and a ringtone was set. Then next issue is that when I went to slide the slider to dismiss the alarm, it didn't do anything. The phone kept vibrating madly and the phone was fully functional. When I went to open the alarm panel again (through the app drawer, cause it was no longer a status icon), it said the alarm was off, even though the phone kept vibrating. The only way I could get the darn thing to stop vibrating was to turn the phone completely off then back on.
