Motorola Droid X :: Didn't Install Task Killer
Sep 16, 2010I've had my DX for about a week now. At first the battery life was just terrible. Now it seems to be improving a little bit more every day. I didn't install a task killer or anything either.I saw some threads where some have experienced this with other phones but didn't see any with the DX. Anyone else have a similar experience with the DX? Sorry if this has already been discussed. I looked but didn't see it.

Jul 13, 2010Well one of those things are a lie. The wizard might have started and I exited it by accident, as I turned on and off the phone after first start. I have done some form of reset by dialing *2767*3855# but I have not been able to do the factory reset by pressing the power button while holding the volume down button. Aug 21, 2011I have downloaded a couple apps recently while in an area with a low signal. Not realizing that my phone was just waiting for the market to acknowledge the request I told it to download multiple times. As soon as I realized that it was downloading multiple copies I canceled all of them that I could, however, there was one that I could not cancel.
When I would check the market it would not say that I was downloading anything, but my notifications area showed that clearly I was. Once the download finished the app did not install. Now I'm stuck thinking that the data downloaded for the app is taking up space on my phone but I cannot find it to remove it.
I assume that the apk is just sitting somewhere taking up space but I cannot find it to remove it. I can download and install the app again, but that doesn't work the fact that this 8mb downloaded for the app the first time is sitting on my phone somewhere unused since the market did not acknowledge/track it.

Jul 23, 2010Since the Dinc also has root, I would think they also have posted master backups in their forums. (I'm still trying to find some links.) Wouldn't their backup have some stuff we don't, (like the cool weather app that shows rain drops on their screen and a windshield wiper that wipes it clean), that could be installed on our phones?

Jul 22, 2010I first tested the alarm out and set it to go off in 2 minutes. it worked. so I set it for my morning alarm and to play an mp3. it said that it will go off in 6 hours. morning rolls by and it never goes off. i check it and its still set, but never went off. another problem that happened was my music player would not work after this incident. i would click load play list and it would take my to a blank screen. the previous song wouldn't play either. i had to reset my device to fix it.

Sep 23, 2010So ive been rooted for a while now. Almost a year now. Ive been using all sorts of roms but recently(up to 2 months ago) i started getting errors. Games like fruit ninja and angry birds will not install on my phone. I have more than enough memory for them and they are downloaded fine, just fail on install. Ive tried all sorts of roms, wiping data/cache, and fix permissions. The market gives me this message "unknown error-18" any help would be great as this sucks.

I downloaded superdial, which has this capability, but it is running a bit slow.

Installation Aborted, so i decided to wait for the OTA update... had it waiting for me when i got up this morning... pressed install and let it go to work... came back 20 minutes later and it was still on the triangle w/ exclamation logo... so i let it sit longer... came back yet another 10 minutes later it was on the Motorola logo and just stayed there for about 5+ minutes (i let it sit for awhile to make sure it was done) so i took out the battery and restarted... and no update still "2.1 Update 1" now what do i do?

Oct 3, 2010I've had this issue since the 2.2 leaks (2.2.9-2.3.15 and now with RubiX) and have finally gotten tired of it. When downloading apps or updates from the market, 1/2 the time it'll finish downloading but then won't install. It just hangs there at 100% and nothing happens no matter how long I leave it there. I have to cancel download and then re-download, sometimes multiple times, before it'll install it automatically. This happens with every app, and while I do eventually get everything install, it will still very annoying. Does anyone else have this issue?

Motorola Droid :: Facebook Contact - One Of My Contacts Picture Didn't Sync
May 16, 2010I installed the latest Facebook app on my Droid today and found that it synced most of my contact photos beautifully. (I chose the second option: only to sync photos with my current contacts) However, one minor issue and two less minor issues:
- For one of my contacts, the picture didn't sync. Dunno why but I guess I can just add the photo manually.
- Another thing is weird. After making a call I've noticed that in my dialer's "favorites" tab, there is a contact who I am friends with on Facebook but whom I do not have the number for, nor whom I have ever called at all! This person keeps reappearing (with FB profile pic and email address) in my dialer app, but the person is not in my actual Google / Android contacts.
Any ideas on how to fix that latter issue? Whenever I delete this person's listing from the Favorites tab, they keep reappearing after I make calls (to other people) O_o
Oh, and since we're talking about the Facebook app..
- Is there any way for Facebook to use the Android notification system to let me know about any new FB notifications? As it is, I'll be on the computer and see some new notifications, but on my Droid I have to manually refresh notifications in the app before it knows about them. Kinda weird.
Motorola Droid :: Boot Animation Didn't Change After Connected Phone With Usb Debugging

1.Dont you have to root to be able to upgrade to a different software type? I rooted before in stalling greek35 2.1, then upgraded to HC2.1, do i have to reroot?
2. Rooting is just, using the update.zip file you download, then using droidroothelp.apk program, mount3, update those 3 things, flash 15.0, rename, reboot ect...so basically as long as you have SU app on your phone your rooted no?

I downloaded a boot animation, connected my phone with usb debugging, used the cd command and abd push bootanimation.zip /data/local, rebooted and the boot animation didnt change..after i used the push command, it said x.xkb transfered in 1.23seconds or whatever...any suggestions?
