Just rooted my Eris and am trying to delete some of the useless stock apps. And whenever I go into cmd and enter in adb shell, it says "adb is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program, or batch file". My phone is plugged in and I have USB debugging on.

Not sure if this goes here or not, but I am having problems getting my Windows 7 machine to recognize my BH2. Is there a way to get the drives so I can install them so I can use my Mass Storage on my phone?
View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter successfully sorting out all the troubles of connecting SGS to KIES, and been using it happily for almost a month, now I'm facing another trouble which is quite big this time. Windows Vista (32-bit) and Windows 7 (64-bit) can't recognize the phone when connected through the USB. Got a message says the USB Device/Hardware Is Not Recognized. I'm using the SGS original cable. The cable was working perfectly and now suddenly it doesn't work in data mode but still able to recharge the phone battery. Am I having a cable problem? Or worst, the USB connector (on the phone) problem? I tried to clean the USB connector on the phone but still can't connect the phone to my computers.

I use Windows 7, received my Vibrant a few weeks ago and have been having a great time, but my phone doesn't mount! It mounted the very first time but after making a potential mistake, it stopped. Here's what happened: Yesterday I installed several apps (Beautiful Widgets, WidgetLocker, just for reference), and for the first time since receiving my handheld, wanted to add some files to it via my pc. I connected my Android as usual only to find that while both the phone & sd card were recognized on my computer, both contained no records, which was obviously a glitch.
I then tried unmounting my phone, and screwed up by selecting for my phone to be a media device rather than mass storage. Windows began searching for the device drivers, was unable to find them, and gave the message: "device driver software was not successfully installed." And now, whether mounted or not, windows no longer recognizes my phone's storage. My Android however, has no problems going from mounted to unmounted. However, I have tried connecting my phone to two other computers and none recognize my device.
Just got my Droid today, all the software is setup, the emulator works fine. But, Windows 7 will not recognize my Droid in 'Debug Mode', it did once the first time I clicked on the option but now nothing. Is there something else I should be installing for it to be recognized?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the VanillaDroid ROM installed on 2.1 v2. My phone is rooted. But I don't like the boot animation that came with the ROM, so I decided to change it. In every tutorial I've seen, people mention a "bootanimation.zip". However, I can't find it anywhere on the phone. But I did find the "bootscreen" folder in "/system/media/" with the bootup animations in it. I assumed that if I swap out the animations for the new ones, it would work (reasonable enough right?). Not really. Apparently, I deleted everything in the bootscreen folder, but when I try copying stuff into it from the memory card, it can't find any directory on the memory card through the "adb shell" stuff.
I know the folder with the bootscreen animations and stuff exists on the memory card, but apparently the shell commands say it doesn't exist. So now my phone boots up with no animation or sound. Its nice to have a quiet boot, and it does seem to start up a little faster, but I want a boot screen again. I know if I reflashed the ROM, it would come back (or at least should). But I don't want to have to reset and redownload all my apps and stuff, especially since I have just got everything the way I want. Is there anyway to get the bootup animations back without reflashing? And if I would reflash, since its the same ROM, would I need to do a factory reset?
All of a sudden my phone doesn't recognize some of my contacts when I receive a call. Is it possible that I changed a setting of some sort?

There are plenty of auto de-odexers for windows, but .bat files don't run on anything else. My request is this, can someone de-odex this ROM and email the output. You can find the tools to do it here, its an all-in-one auto deodexer so it shouldn't be too hard.

View 18 Replies View RelatedI've rooted my Eris and have am wanting to use the Wired Tether app. For whatever reason, I cannot get my Windows 7 PC to connect to it. If somebody could walk me through the steps to get it connected, I'd greatly appreciate it. I have searched and come up empty on results. People say it asks to update/install drivers, it needs ndis drivers, etc, but I'm not sure exactly what all that means or even how to do it. For example, to even get to that point, which option do I select on my Eris when I connect it? Sync? Charge only?

Anyway, she gave me back the phone and when I went to the home screen I saw an icon in the task bar that I thought was a system update bar. All excited that 2.1 is finally here I pull down the bar to see its a notification from steamy windows thanking me for using it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have had DC 2.08.1 installed for about 2 weeks with no issues. I decided to go ahead and partition the SD to utilized apps2SD as I was having memory issues. That process, while not smooth, went through okay and the SD card is working with the partition and apps2SD. However, ever since that was completed, my Windows 7 box no longer recognizes the phone either as a phone or as a drive. My Linux laptop recognizes the drive without issue.
Any suggestions on how I can reintroduce my phone to the Windows box, at least as a drive?

I am interested in sending this message between phones, not from the emulator to the phone. For example, by running the command: service call phone 2 s16 "1234567890"
I can place a call from phone to phone using the command line. The 'service list' command shows an isms service, which I can't seem to provide the correct arguments for. I would assume that one of the args should be a PDU string but haven't had any luck so far.
