View 2 Replies View RelatedI JUST went to my texts to find an address (for Christmas cards) and to my astonishment ALL of my texts have been deleted EVEN the ones I previously locked?!!
I turned off my phone, then turned it back on and they are ALL still gone! Is there anything I can do to recover my old text messages? Some of them were very important...
Is there a reliable program I can use to back up the more important text messages I get in the future (say all texts from a specific contact)?
To add more info to this, I did not have delete old messages when limit is reached check. I had thousands of messages in my inbox before the deletion.
This is really annoying, what good is a phone that can't reliably store text messages?? As I said before I had several very important locked messages that are now gone as well.
I am looking for a way to retrieve old texts that were in my phone, that were deleted, these are VERY important texts, is there a way i can get them back, there original texts were from dec/2012 to jan/ 2013, i have called verizon, and got their "static" answer
View 2 Replies View RelatedCan any of you retrieve deleted text messages or know how? I know you can retrieve them via SIM card, but there isn't one... I have a memory card reader, but if i'm right, you can only retrieve photos from the SD card? I was wondering since most of you probably know how to code that if you knew how to retrieve them a different way or could where to go or how to do it? It would be very much appreciated.

View 3 Replies View RelatedUsing Handcent for texts, but went into the Messages app and saw a bunch of "ghost" messages with a date of 12/31/69 (tap on the messages and they don't load). It turns out that when I receive a text it displays the correct date and time in both Handcent and Messages, but when I delete in in Handcent it goes into this "ghost" state in Messages. Has anybody else run into this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedEvery few weeks or so my Droid keeps deleting all of my texts. No message with it or anything I just open my texts and there all gone. What the hell is causing this? I told verizon about a half dozen times and they told me that its impossible that its doing this.
View 11 Replies View RelatedSo today I went to my messages and noticed that all of my old ones were gone. I have the Delete Old Messages option off. Is there another setting somewhere that I am missing? Does it just delete all messages no matter what once it gets to a certain capacity?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the NFL app during the preseason and then when the season started they wanted to start charging for it so I deleted. I keep getting the morning text message even thought I have Text to 4635 Stop and they just keep sending them, Does anyone know how to actually stop these messages? Its really annoying.

I have the phone set to only keep 25 messages in a thread and automatically delete old messages. I have tried a hard reset. I am using the stock messaging app, but I have seen others who have the same problem with third-party apps.
PROBLEM: I delete unwanted texts and threads, but as soon as I receive a message from someone whose threads I have deleted ALL (I mean ALL) of my deleted text messages come back. Let me be clear, when I say ALL I mean every text message I have sent to anyone comes back - the entire thread returns. Even though my thread settings are set to 25, some of these threads have thousands of messages in them.
I am not using any third party app for backup. There is a little sync symbol up by the clock while the messages return and it can take hours for the messages to all load up - oldest messages return first, so I cannot read new texts until the process is finished. There appears to be no way to stop the sync either. I have to wait it out.
This is my second Android phone and the fifth Android I have had in my family. Everyone of them has had bizzarre problems like this. Every time I complain out loud, my wife just says, "My iPhone doesn't do that."
My unrooted droid on 2.1 deleted all my text message threads in the stock messaging app even the locked ones. What I don't get is ALL the picture messages are gone but the dialer storage is 10.6 mb. What the heck? It should be almost zero.
View 3 Replies View RelatedLast week I noticed all my text message threads were gone from my phone! I have heard people complaining about this in the past and it happened to me. What is more surprising is that a friend told me today that his complete CONTACT list was deleted from the phone! What is going on with these Droids that are making them delete information like this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just learned how to root my Droid X tonight and was going through the "pre-approved' list of "deletable file" and ended up deleting my Text Messages icon and have been unable to open texting and this sucks. HOw can I get it back on my phone so I can send/receive text?
View 11 Replies View RelatedGo into your phone contacts and pick a contact you have texted. On the open field below the contact, slide to the right and you will see a list of every text message you have sent and received from that person even if you deleted the messages!
Delete contact and re-enter the contact.
Supposedly to be fixed with an update?
Un-frickenbelievable!
Some of the crap and goofy stuff I tell my friends, I don't want on the phone.
my phone is VERY new, and I am VERY confused with most of it. However, on my home page there is (WAS) a text messaging icon, a voicemail icon, a browser icon, and then a market icon. Somehow a second text messaging icon showed up. So there was my normal original text message icon, and then a larger one above it. So I tried deleting one of them, it would not work, so i tried the other one, did not work. Then I turned off my phone and turned it back on and now they are both gone. I tried hitting menu, then add, then motorola widgets and then messages, but the only option for a text messaging icon is the red message icon, i was the actual text message icon, HOW DO I GET IT!!?? It's bugging me very badly.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLast night my phone suddenly stopped picking up some of my text messages. I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace and I have never had this problem before - I've had the phone for about 6 months now. It comes up with a notification that I have a message, and as normal when I drag down the notification bar it will let me preview the first line of the text. However when I go to my inbox it isn't there; likewise my sent messages haven't saved in the conversation.
The thing is, this is only an issue with two of my contacts; I have been sending and receiving texts from other people it's just these two and they both have i phones - could this be something to do with it?
I am not using any 3rd party messaging apps either like handcent. I just use the messaging service that the phone came with.
I said I've never had this issue before and out of the blue it's not showing my texts! It's driving me nuts.
I actually saw on a post before some sort of widget/layout in sweeterhome that had messaging in it. Anybody know any widgets that allow you to view recent text messages in them?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI sold my htc Imago with the expectation that the guy I was buying a Droid X from would not super flake on me. Say Craig list! Anyway, I've been without a working device for a week now as I wait for my DX to arrive. I just check voice mail a couple times a day to make sure I'm not missing anything important. On the other hand, I have to imagine I have a serious back log of texts. A buddy of mine said he thought the DX (which my wife currently has) could be configured to retrieve texts from more than one account (phone number). Is that possible? Is there any other way to retrieve text messages other than with an activated device?

View 12 Replies View Relatedsomeone i know has an x, and he said he gets text messages from +1 numbers (they are people in his phonebook), and he cant reply to them, so he has to delete the thread and start over.anyone have any idea why this is, or how to fix it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently been having issues with text messaging. About half of the texts that I try to send end up in a "pending" state. If you go to the factory messaging, and long press on a message, there is an option to "View Report" and that is where it has the pending status. I can't seem to figure out a rhyme or reason to this, but they don't actually get sent to the people I'm trying to send them to. Does anyone have any ideas? I've been fine with the stock messaging program, but would Handcent fix this? I'm up for trying anything at this point, as long as I can text and be sure the people are going to get them. BTW I was hoping the 2.0.1 update would fix this, but I force loaded the update and it's still doing it.
View 27 Replies View RelatedIs anyone having issues not receiving some text messages and e-mails, specifically those with pictures attachments? I have a Verizon Droid and my wife lately has asked if I got her text/e-mail and I haven't. It could be on her end (she has a Blackberry), but I just wanted to check because it has happened at least 5 times in the past week or so.
