Someone sent me a picture attached to a text message. With my old phone I could save these pictures to the memory card and transfer them off of the phone. I can't find a way to save the picture to the Droid, and connecting the phone to my PC and browsing the contents of the Droid doesn't reveal the picture anywhere

I only have OpenOffice.org Calc to try and figure it out, but when I receive the email, it won't let me "click" on the attachment to recognize it/open it. I downloaded Documents to Go (menu doesn't llist any email program to open) and Spread Sheet Lite (can't "find" the file) but don't know how to find the email/open the attachment.

Am I missing something? It seems only when people officially attach the file is when I can see it. Other than that..I get the blue box with a "?" in the middle.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAbout a month ago, all the sudden I couldnt recieve any attached pictures sent to me through text messages. I thought that maybe it was an application that may have caused this so i did a factory reset and installed only minimal apps that I use regularly. It fixed the problem and worked fine right after so I thought maybe that was it. Now after about 3 weeks or so, I am not getting attached pics in text messages again. I have not downloaded any apps either. When someone sends me a pic it will say who its from, the message size which ALWAYS says 6KB, and the expiration date. It will show a download box on the top right of the message abd when i push it, it will say downloading, then I will get a notification saying that the download was unsuccessful. What could be the cause of this?? I would hate to have to do a factory reset every 3-4 weeks to address this problem.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I add an event and hit the save button, I see it till I close out of the calendar then try and get back to it. Then it's gone. I've tried to add the event via the stock app, LPP Calendar, and CalWidget...all with the same results, I can add, but try to get back to it or refresh the widget and it's gone. What the heck am I doing wrong? When I add an event from my desktop via gmail, it does save and is viewable on the X...why wont the ones added with phone save to either the phone or gmail?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use sycmypics for LPP People widget. Everytime I sync smp saves the photos to my "All Photos" file in the gallery - 368 photos at present, many duplicates.
1. Can this be stopped?
2. Is there an easy way to select multiple photos and delete en mass? Deleting several photos from the Gallery takes forever - you get returned to the top of the list after every deletion.
I don't know if this has been addressed before, but I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge as to how one would keep emails in the inbox? The catch is that they would have to stay there, not have to be reloaded (as if you were accessing the mailbox from the website on your computer) and wouldn't get pushed down the line and out of sight from your designated number of emails displayed at once in the list?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI would be an intermediate level Java programmer (more of a hobbyist). I want to create an app for android that counts stats during a football game. This is roughly the functionality:
1.User presses buttons representing each type of stat e.g. #1 for score, #2 for lost possession of ball etc. (ideally it would be on a touchscreen phone and the user could use a stylus to touch buttons on the screen -by the way, would I have to program differently for a touchscreen? or is that a hardware thing?)
2. Each time a number is pressed, it's written to a text file on the phone or into a database (sqllite or whatever).
3. The text file can then be sent in a message to another android enabled phone.
Is it possible to test the existence of this text file on the android emulator? Is all this possible without being an advance Java programmer? Any guidance would be welcome and I realize this is a broad definition of the program.
I have had my Droid for a week now and I noticed in the settings menu that I haven't used my MicroSD card at all to save any files or apps. How can I fix this? I thought all of the Apps were saved to the microsd card to start with? I have 6 GB's life on my phone and still have 14.7 GBs when I connect it to my computer.

Of course the touch had itunes which was great, the only thing it lacked was being able to save your favorites without downloading them. I know they have a few things out there on android market that seem to do this, looking for the easiest and the best.

I looked around on the net and found a tip that said to turn off the Background Data option, so I did that, but I find this to be a very convenient feature. I'm just wondering if there's some sort of app or widget that will let me quickly toggle the Background Data option on and off for a quick sync to push all of my stuff in whenever I want it.

Then I started to play with the camera taking pictures...I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to change the "save location" on the phone for when it takes the photos. I don't know whether the photos are being saved to the SD Card (like I WANT), or to the internal memory (which I don't!).
So I take a picture with my Droid X, and it doesn't save at all.It seems to be tied to the GPS, because if I wait for the GPS to tag the photo, then it SEEMS to work MOST of the time. Thing is, I can't wait for the GPS all of the time, I just want a point and click cam. I have tried disabling the GPS and it doesn't seem to work until I reboot the phone. Anyone else having this issue, any suggestions?

View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery time I type in a number and then go to 'Add To Contacts' my phone NEVER saves the number. if that person calls me the correct info will show up but for me to call them is impossible... because they are not on my list. I have searched everywhere for a fix for this. All the correct display option are checked (for gmail i have EVERYTHING checked now)
This drives me absolutely insane. Ive added the same contact several times... and when i hit 'done' they don't show up. PLEASE HELP

I have a Rogers Magic unlocked. I am in China using China Unicom GPRS. It works very well. However I want to be able to save incoming sms messages in the phone. Perhaps even in folders such as "drafts". My old cheap Nokia could do this. When I now get an incoming message I can only delete it or leave it in the "inbox".
