How do you view an attached spreadsheet in an email? I only have OpenOffice.org Calc to try and figure it out, but when I receive the email, it won't let me "click" on the attachment to recognize it/open it. I downloaded Documents to Go (menu doesn't llist any email program to open) and Spread Sheet Lite (can't "find" the file) but don't know how to find the email/open the attachment.

Do you think it will come a time when we can view e-mail pictures that are embedded in the e-mail? Hate when I get a forward and can't view the pictures. Am I missing something? It seems only when people officially attach the file is when I can see it. Other than that..I get the blue box with a "?" in the middle.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had to drive to someones housethat I had never been to so I opened up gmail and tried to view the email the guy sent me, well he sent me two emails the one with his address being the first and for some reason I couldn't view the first one only the second on my droid! Frustrated I booted up the pc and just found it in gmail on the pc what gives? Under the newest email it had a little "(2)" though. I'm missing something here but what? It would have been easier to pull up the email click the address and open up maps and drive there instead of having to do all that.

One of my 'must-haves' is the ability to open any kind of attachment that comes in with an email (.doc, .docx, .xls, .ppt, .jpeg, etc.) I was assured the Ally could with the application docs-to-go. I am now finding that it's a hit and miss with opening files. Files that have the .doc extension will come up and say 'can't open this video'.

From what I have read (http://bend-ing.blogspot.com/2008/11/properly-handle-progress-dialog-in.html) and seen in Android sources, it looks like the only possible situation to get that exception is when activity was destroyed. But as I have mentioned, I forbid activity recreation for basic events.

Problem occurs when a dialog progress appears and I change my phone orientation, it freezes and crashes.
Someone sent me a picture attached to a text message. With my old phone I could save these pictures to the memory card and transfer them off of the phone. I can't find a way to save the picture to the Droid, and connecting the phone to my PC and browsing the contents of the Droid doesn't reveal the picture anywhere

Anyways, my DX has been working flawlessly since I got it back on 10/6. Sunday, 10/31, my DX quit syncing just my corporate Exchange 2003 emails, then yesterday it started not sending emails as well and now, this morning, it quit syncing my personal email. Corporate email will sync manually, just not push. I have rebooted several times, pulled the battery several times, and also deleted both my Exchange account and my personal account and re-added both and the problem still persists. I don't have any task killer apps installed and haven't recently added any apps since the issues started. Anyone have an idea what may be causing the lack of push (in and out) on both of my accounts?

Well, i have putted to be notified in 1 hour if i have new emails the problem is the phone didn't check the emails and didn't have the notifications. only if i enter on the "Mail" application i have the new emails.. if i didn't enter, this didn't check the emails. View 3 Replies View RelatedI just pulled the battery to do a reset last night after a lockup and today I'm getting notifications everytime I get a new email. it never used to do this and i figured it was just cause I didn't use the gmail. now I'm thinking that it just might be one of the background tasks that I was always killing. I recently switched to home++ and I didn't use the built in task killer all day. so I guess my question is, does anyone know which background task would control this so I don't kill it? also, is there a place to go in the settings to change the led color for email alerts?

I have added both the sender and the senders domain to the list using Windows Live Mail Beta. These emails are still getting through to my Droid X. First, there are no option on the phone to block emails is there? And secondly, there is not an option to add emails to any junk folder on the phone either that I have found. Anyone else having this problem? I've tried both adding my email accounts through Corporate (for hotmail/msn) and the email option on the phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem sending pictures with the gmail widget on my eris. I take the picture and attach it to an email composed with the gmail widget. However, when the recipient (and my own gmail account to test) receives the email, the pictures are not viewable. They just appear as a red "x". I can send the same email from the phone to my hotmail account and the pictures show up fine. I have tried different resolution sizes, but with the same result. I have accessed gmail through the phone's browser to try to send the attachments that way, but cannot see that there is an option to include attachments. It is pretty frustrating to use a gmail widget to have the pictures not appear when sent to my own gmail account. Then to check my hotmail account and see that the pictures appear fine.
