Motorola Droid :: Saving Text Messages From One ROM To Another
May 3, 2010I will attempt to try nextBeast v1.0 again tonight or tomorrow. I have NexTheme and TiBackup. What do I need to restore to get the TXT messages to appear once I switch? I have got TiBackup to work with AK notepad but cannot get the TXT messages restored.

Sep 30, 2010I don't know if this has been addressed before, but I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge as to how one would keep emails in the inbox? The catch is that they would have to stay there, not have to be reloaded (as if you were accessing the mailbox from the website on your computer) and wouldn't get pushed down the line and out of sight from your designated number of emails displayed at once in the list?

Is there a way to make capitals that are not at the beginning of sentences, for proper names, etc. and Is there an easier way to save text messages? I know I can e-mail them to myself, or copy and paste them into Ever note, but this takes forever if I have a lot of them to save. Is there a way to quickly copy an entire thread?

After some testing, I foudn that when I enable pop-up notifications, I can view incoming messages. But at no point do they become visible in my inbox... i.e. when I close the pop-up there is no trace of that message ever existing. Other points: I am able to view texts that I have asentThe stock Android messaging app does not receive messages eitherI verified that the Hangouts app has SMS disabled Also, I'm not sure if it is related, but my Handcent app updated yesterday.

Nov 5, 2009I have a Rogers Magic unlocked. I am in China using China Unicom GPRS. It works very well. However I want to be able to save incoming sms messages in the phone. Perhaps even in folders such as "drafts". My old cheap Nokia could do this. When I now get an incoming message I can only delete it or leave it in the "inbox".

Mar 2, 2010In my Gmail app, I have messages showing up in my Inbox that are *no longer* in my actual Inbox.There are a couple of messages I have since deleted, or moved to another folder, or archived that are still showing up.I keep refreshing, and these 'ghost' messages still show up.Just to be clear, when I go to gmail.com in my browser, these messages are *not* in my Inbox.They are only showing up in my Gmail app Inbox.I'll take any suggestion that doesn't require me factory resetting my phone

Apr 1, 2012I am relatively new to Android. Just got a Droid 4. As part of the setup, I added my gmail accounts. On the regular web interface, I have about 20 labels (folder) to archive the old messages. Then, I also had about 80 messages left in the inbox. Five days later, all of a sudden, I only have 1 message (a chat converted info a message 2 months ago) left in the inbox. Everything else in the inbox is gone. If I use the gmail app on the phone, that's what I see as well.
However, if I use the "mail" app on the phone, I am still seeing all the messages originally in the inbox. And the inbox is associated with my gmail account.
Now, comes the question: how can I restore all the email messages viewable by the "mail" app back into the inbox viewable by the "gmail" app, which is also the inbox in the web interface on my computer?

Aug 30, 2010I sold my htc Imago with the expectation that the guy I was buying a Droid X from would not super flake on me. Say Craig list! Anyway, I've been without a working device for a week now as I wait for my DX to arrive. I just check voice mail a couple times a day to make sure I'm not missing anything important. On the other hand, I have to imagine I have a serious back log of texts. A buddy of mine said he thought the DX (which my wife currently has) could be configured to retrieve texts from more than one account (phone number). Is that possible? Is there any other way to retrieve text messages other than with an activated device?

Dec 9, 2009I have recently been having issues with text messaging. About half of the texts that I try to send end up in a "pending" state. If you go to the factory messaging, and long press on a message, there is an option to "View Report" and that is where it has the pending status. I can't seem to figure out a rhyme or reason to this, but they don't actually get sent to the people I'm trying to send them to. Does anyone have any ideas? I've been fine with the stock messaging program, but would Handcent fix this? I'm up for trying anything at this point, as long as I can text and be sure the people are going to get them. BTW I was hoping the 2.0.1 update would fix this, but I force loaded the update and it's still doing it.

Aug 21, 2010I have a rooted 2.2 DX, and on 2.1 when I got a new text it would jump to the top of the list with a blue dot next to it. Now ever since I upgraded to 2.2 I still get the blue dot next to my unread text messages but it doesn't jump to the top of the list. I don't know if that is just how froyo works now or if it's an issue just on my phone.

Nov 23, 2010I gave my wife my D2, did a factory reset on it beforehand. She's been playing on it now for almost a week with no problem until today..
It started off with her gallery, when you try to go into the gallery it will kick you right back out into the launcher. I can use astro to get to her pics but any pics she takes now won't work. So then she went into her messaging app, all it does is cycle, it won't load up any messages at all.. I really don't know what's wrong with it, trying to avoid a factory reset if I can, but I will if it's my only option.
