Motorola Droid :: Replacement Droid Coming

Well I decided to go ahead and get a replacement droid...so i want to know what i can to make the transition smooth and easy... like making sure i get all my contact and apps switched over.My reasonin was (incase people want to know) the camera only works when it wants i was playing with a droid at the verizon store and the camera was so much better than mine. The there is the call quality issues. people could only hear me some of the time. i was using my phone to call a verizon tech and thought i was using a different carrier or something and i informed him it was my droid. lmao. but he could hear me on my husbands env2. also in there was the jumping from 3g service to no service in the same spot.

Looks like I have a dead pixel issue on my camera.. when I get a replacement, can that transfer all my settings and everything over, or do I need to downbload and install and setup everything all over again? I'm using launcher pro, and setting up all 7 home pages again takes a LOT of time.

Got my warranty replacement droid yesterday. Re signed into my google account.Went to market, went to my downloads, saw large list of my apps that should have been downloaded. Went to bed. Woke up this morning, and none of my apps are on my home button.Went back to market, has about 2/3 of my apps saying 'starting download', another 1/3 saying 'installing'.But this has been 8 hours and nothing is actually installed. If I go to an app that says starting download, I can cancel it, then hit install button, and it installs. But I don't want to do this for like 30 apps if I don't have to.Also have tried a reboot, but so far, nothing better.I am connected to home wifi, so good speed. Before I got replacement phone I wiped my bad phone to see if it would help, and apps came back within an hour.

Kinda peeved that it's a refurb.I thought I would get a new Droid since the one I purchased Touch Screen crapped out.Is this typical? This is the first time I had to use warranty on a cell phone.

My phone took a tumble down the stairs and screen cracked in a lot of places, but still usable.Should i backup all my apps using astro ? Also, all my contacts are phone contacts, not gmail contacts, will HTC sync application help me backup my contacts and restore them? I haven't replaced an HTC phone yet so please forgive my innocence. I'm a converted BB user and now never going back to anything but Droid. Also, will i be receiving LCD screen instead AMOLED screen? Is that the rumor ?I do have insurance, i'm sure it will cost me more than 50 bucks to replace it. Prob 100$ right?

Since the Droid 2 Global is coming out soon. I think a Droid X Global (w/ the 1.2GHz CPU) will be the real killer here. Anyone thinks so, too? BTW, I have a Droid X and my daughter have the D2 (R2D2). I like the DX compared to the D2 and my upgrade plan is to get a global Droid phone. Hopefully, a Droid X Global is in the works.

I know that there are several options. I've never owned an Android phone before, but I have heard about Panda, aHome and OpenHome. I've also heard that these apps don't play nice with the Droid's resolution/format/size screen. Has anybody tried any (or preferably all) of these three apps? Are you able to provide some of the pros and cons of each so I can make an informed decision? I would like to try out some of these options, I'm a huge customization freak.

After looking at Verizon store, Best Buy, Target, and Dicks sporing goods.A salesperson at a Verizon Kiosk at the mall told me that Verizon is designing an armband for the Droid that should be available this spring.I looked through all the threads here, as well as at all the stores listed, and cannot find one that fits the Droid.Many different Iphone armbands are just a bit too small and do not fit the Droid.

receiving my emails no problem - from exchange server. Now, all of a sudden when I get a new email, it will say who the email is from, but when I open it, the body of the email is not from that person. It may be from someone elses email that morning or someone elses 1 week ago. But if I pull up my email on my laptop, everything is normal.

I just purchased my Droid and have lots of questions, especially why do emails keep coming back on even after empying the trash? This is so frustrating. Anyway, I love my Droid and am looking forward to learning a lot on this forum.

I just flashed UD v8 last night and got into the LED hack and adjusted my settings so that when I dock it all LEDs turn off. Cool and the gang. Except now when I get an email or text message I don't get the blue or green flashing LED in the top right like normal. I actually love this cuz I can tell if I have an email/sms without powering up out of sleep mode. Granted, that isn't that big a deal, but I like my damn LED.
Anyone experiencing this or have any ideas on a fix?

My phone freezes up at least 6 times a day after the update. I have to do a battery pull to get it going again. I did a factory reset and formatted the sd card same thing happens. I called Verizon and they said they are having lots of calls from people with the same issue and a new software update will be coming out to fix it. She said that if they sent me a new phone it would have the same issue. Has any one else been told this?

Well, from all the reading I have been doing about this 2.1 upgrade, it appears it was all a hoax, and a good one at that, but my concern was that somewhere I read that Adobe Flash wasn't being introduced until 2.1 was released, do you see where I am going with this, that I and probably many more, don't know what to believe any more. Does anyone have factual information on the release of Adobe Flash, for if they truly are waiting for an upgrade, then we can be waiting for a long time.

I was running my fingernail across the gold speaker cover strip on the back. I noticed in the middle that it pushes in quite a bit. It's like that part is not properly secured to the backplate.Could someone else attempt this for me. I want to know if it's how it was constructed, or if it's just my unit.Just run your fingernail with LIGHT pressure across the speaker cover. See if it pushes in in the middle.

I just noticed the gold flaking on my camera button is coming off.The top face is completely gone and the sides are chiping away now.The rest of the phone is in excellent condition no scratches, no drops, etc.

I've noticed for a couple weeks now that a few "flakes" of the chrome paint on my power button have come off, I thought at first this was due to maybe an impact since I carry mine in a holster at 90 degrees - also I ride a bike so maybe something like sand or debris did this. But further looking at it theres no mark under the missing chrome, so I ruled that out. Looking closer the rockers for the volume control have a couple specs missing.
I obviously use the power button more than the volume, and now since I've notice this I switch back and forth from the home button/P button to wake the phone in a attempt to prevent more wear and tear. Its honestly not that big a deal, I can tell the camera button is poorly painted too but due to the fact I use the on-screen shutter I rarely ever touch that one. I've contemplated just removing the chrome all together, a touch of acetone applied with a q tip would do the trick. Black wouldn't be bad, I just would rather have all the colors be consistent instead of the "chipped away" look.

I am using Launcher Pro, and today installed custom icons for my dock (the Minimalist Design ones from the "What do your screens look like" or whatever thread). I have the option selected in LP to show me how many new texts I have, but since I put on these new custom icons, the red bubble isn't coming up in my dock. How do I fix this?

I trying to help a friend with her email on her droid she currently has a (smtp) email set up on her phone. The problem is all old emails are continuously coming back to the device! she has deleted them both from the phone also from a regular pc and they come back still....I looked into the app called (k9) however it doesn't look like it supports smtp only Imap and pop3.

I'm looking to see if I can get any good advice on a replacement phone for my work. The droid is my personal phone and I am up for a new device for my business phone. I have Verizon for my business phone as well and we are on a corporate plan. So the carrier has to be big V. I would try an android phone (other than the droid...I don't want two of them ) but I don't know how well android integrates with the Windows server for syncing contacts, calendar, outlook, etc. Any suggestions on phones currently out or coming out in the next month or two? Can have a physical keyboard or a decent touchscreen keyboard. I don't care as long as it works better than my HTC Touch did. Once I got my Droid. The resistive screen just didn't work for me anymore.

I received my replacement Droid today and it came with 2.1 still installed. I have had it running for about 10 hours now and still have not received the 2.2 update. I called Vz this evening and they said they have finished sending out OTA updates for 2.2 and if I want it installed I have to go into a store.
