Motorola Droid :: What's Latest Rumor / Is Flash Really Coming?

Well, from all the reading I have been doing about this 2.1 upgrade, it appears it was all a hoax, and a good one at that, but my concern was that somewhere I read that Adobe Flash wasn't being introduced until 2.1 was released, do you see where I am going with this, that I and probably many more, don't know what to believe any more. Does anyone have factual information on the release of Adobe Flash, for if they truly are waiting for an upgrade, then we can be waiting for a long time.

After following the guide to a T that GrdLck posted, I cannot get to the adb. When I try to add the drivers, I get an error saying not found. I have tried on 2 diff machines. Win 7 32bit and 64bit. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Am I missing something?

Latest EVO 4G root uses Flash Lite exploit to do its deed - Engadget Given how similar the phones are, it seems like this vulnerability may also be present in the Inc's Flash Lite build, and may prove more successful in rooting ours if true. Admittedly, i don't really have a rooting need at the moment, but I am sure there are plenty of other eager people out there who might be able to try this....

I just downloaded petes latest. Its awesome! But it seems the only theme that is compatible is blue energy. I like it, but I would like other options. Are there any other themes out there that are compatible?

Since the Droid 2 Global is coming out soon. I think a Droid X Global (w/ the 1.2GHz CPU) will be the real killer here. Anyone thinks so, too? BTW, I have a Droid X and my daughter have the D2 (R2D2). I like the DX compared to the D2 and my upgrade plan is to get a global Droid phone. Hopefully, a Droid X Global is in the works.

I need some help here if you can. I was running the latest cyanogen rom and it was running pretty smooth. Then I tried to change the theme without flashing clockwork!! ( duh, I forgot!!! )now I'm stuck on the moto logo!! I tried wiping the whole phone, factory reset, my backups , battery pull, and its still stuck on the moto logo. I got my phone to boot up now! I was just getting a lil frustrated, thats all. I think the phone needed to take a lil break too!

I tried to update my phone yesterday while it was rooted at the time and it did not install. I un rooted my phone this morning and tried to install the update again and it still would not install. any help would be appreciated.

There has been a lot of discussion about screen protectors - which I have read with interest. Just saw this on Engadget: Corning's darn-near-impenetrable Gorilla glass certainly isn't new -- in fact, we spied it in a few of Motion Computing's tablets just a few months ago -- but it's still not commonplace on mainstream gizmos. Yet. SmartPlanet sat down with Dr. Donnell Walton, senior applications engineer at Corning, in order to discuss the merits of the display technology as well as its importance in the gadget space. The discussion also mentioned that both Motorola's Droid and Dell's Adamo (not to mention Cowon's S9 PMP) are sporting the glass, which acts to make displays "damage-resistant." Not surprisingly, the company is seeing huge demand in the smartphone arena, where touchscreen-centric phones are being shoved into pockets at random and then costing manufacturers big bucks as return rates creep up. It's a pretty interesting read if you're into that type of thing, and yes, we did just give you permission to try and split your Droid display wide open in a moment of frustration. Just don't count on Motorola to accept that as a valid excuse for your RMA.

What is the latest ROM pete has put out? Has he done a BB for the froyo if so a link? Did some searching last night all (I think) I am finding are the OTA ROMs that have come out that he has rooted. Is that all there is, been sitting on 2.1 and decided to make the jump.

After looking at Verizon store, Best Buy, Target, and Dicks sporing goods.A salesperson at a Verizon Kiosk at the mall told me that Verizon is designing an armband for the Droid that should be available this spring.I looked through all the threads here, as well as at all the stores listed, and cannot find one that fits the Droid.Many different Iphone armbands are just a bit too small and do not fit the Droid.

receiving my emails no problem - from exchange server. Now, all of a sudden when I get a new email, it will say who the email is from, but when I open it, the body of the email is not from that person. It may be from someone elses email that morning or someone elses 1 week ago. But if I pull up my email on my laptop, everything is normal.

I just flashed UD v8 last night and got into the LED hack and adjusted my settings so that when I dock it all LEDs turn off. Cool and the gang. Except now when I get an email or text message I don't get the blue or green flashing LED in the top right like normal. I actually love this cuz I can tell if I have an email/sms without powering up out of sleep mode. Granted, that isn't that big a deal, but I like my damn LED.
Anyone experiencing this or have any ideas on a fix?

I would like to try cyanogen's latest build (although still not sure which one that is) but after trying to google everything I need answers to I am just getting more confused so I thought someone here could help.
I only have used sprecovery so this whole clockwork recovery is confusing. Says I need it but if I don't like cyanogens how hard is it to revert back to my adamz smoked glass that i have now with sprecovery? Don't even want to try and tackle the titanium backup thing.
Does Cyanogens come with busybox? Will I still have wifi tether and a kernel that supports it? What is this thing about having to install google apps in some special way as i read they are left out?
What I am looking for is all the cyanogen goodness (the ability to flip the phone and have screen rotate 180 degrees)with a smoked glass theme, stock theme or green theme, wifi tether(a must), moving wallpaper,overclocking and the ability to load my custom boot animations.
I like my Adamz smoked glass rom a lot but want to be able to rotate the phone and have the screen change. I have everything listed above except phone rotation now.
I have not had a single problem running Adamz rom or any issues with sprecovery. I can use these with ease so I am hoping someone can point me to an easy guide to make the change and answer a few of these questions.

How do I update swype to the latest beta? It says I need to remove the current version first but since it is included in the X, how do I do this? Do I just rename or delete the apk with root explorer?

All the new features sites said Flash 10 was part of Driod 2.2. 2.2 was pushed to my phone overnight and I installed it. However when I go to the Adobe Flash showcase, it says I don't have flash installed. So I search the market place and do not see flash as a download. Is this just something that will come later? I really don't read up on Driod all the time so I don't know all the news, just a regular user.

I have gotten both the Flash Player and Flash Lite APK's, and I have been trying to install them on the Droid. Flash Player refuses to install on stock 2.1. Flash Lite installs, but after install I can not connect to the internet (Nothing connects, Skype, market, random app, browser.)
So I wanted to know if anyone wanted to do some testing with them, to see if you can get them running on the ROM you are running. Maybe we will be able to make fun of iDevices earlier, because Droid Does what iDont

My phone freezes up at least 6 times a day after the update. I have to do a battery pull to get it going again. I did a factory reset and formatted the sd card same thing happens. I called Verizon and they said they are having lots of calls from people with the same issue and a new software update will be coming out to fix it. She said that if they sent me a new phone it would have the same issue. Has any one else been told this?
