I set up my Comcast e-mail account on my Droid phone. Several times a day, I receive blank e-mails dated 12/31/1969 (the time sent is always 7:00 p.m.). Plus, there is no name in the "To:" line or in the "Sent by" area. Any ideas on why I keep receiving these e-mails?

When I send an e-mail from my Droid using my GMail account with the default GMail app, it sends me a copy of the e-mail. It does not do this with my other e-mail app. This is terribly annoying. I don't want a new e-mail of the e-mail I just sent in my inbox every time I send an e-mail. Is it possible to turn this off? I looked for a "reciept" option in the settings, but found nothing. The other e-mail app does not do this for my non-gmail accounts.

The messages looked like this: 4756://BREW:0108f3d4:GCD. After a while I stopped receiving them. Now tonight I received another one. Does anybody know anything about this or has anyone else received these messages?

1 POP (Hotmail) - Once daily
My issue is that I am receiving alerts for the same new mail repeatedly. Here's the gist:
11:50 - New mail hits my inbox.
12:00 - I receive a notification of the new email.
12:05 - I check my inbox, but choose not to open the email at this time.
14:00 - I get a notification of a 'new' email, yet on checking it's the one received at 11:50, but still haven't opened.
15:00 - Rinse and repeat. Now, I'm not sure how many times this is happening, or even if it's everytime, but there's something definitely glitchy with mail notifications.Has anybody else noticed similar behaviour? If not I may try removing/adding my accounts back in again.

Is there a way to use "You've got mail" and other sound clips when receiving mail? It is on my sd card but I can't figure out how to use it as a notification.
I get a strange farting noise when the call is first placed and randomly during the call. When it happens neither party can hear eachother. The car is a 2006 BMW 525xi and I never had it with 4 different Eris', 2 BB's and an old Motorola flip phone.

I can create an account without error, but there is no folders and blank inbox. I get no errors. Any ideas? Anything special with Exchange 2010? This is the first 2010 that I have tried to sync my phone to.

It is a triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle, and it is standing upright staring down at my phone laying flat. I'm not sure if it's working away, or if this is some problem.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having some problems with the default messaging app. Everything was fine until I downloaded Handcent. After playing around with Handcent, I decided to remove it. After I did, when I tried to send a picture with the default client, it would appear to send properly, but the person I was sending too would get a notification that the attached media was 'too large' or something similar, and not be able to view the picture Finally, I reinstalled Handcent and could send pictures from it just fine. I noticed that Handcent asks to resize pictures when sending where the default app does not. I could not find any settings for 'resize' in the default app. I figured I just had a bug with the default client, and continued to use Handcent with no problems. I would periodically check the default client, with the same results.Finally, after several days of using nothing BUT Handcent, I decided to give the default app another try, and now I find that it is working again with no problems, and in fact, the pictures I send with it that are apparently NOT resized look better on the phones I send them to than the ones I send with Handcent. Has anyone else had a problem like this, or know what could be going on?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am running on the HTC EVO and as soon as I got my phone I set up my Gmail account through the automatic setup process. I used android market to get the Gmail widget (the one where the icon has the message coming out of the envelope and it looks like a red 'M'). That was working fine and I was getting my e-mails without any problems.The other day, I was tinkering with settings and I set up the HTC Mail widget, which I (stupidly) linked to the same Gmail account. I started to receive double notifications for my e-mails. I quickly realized I preferred the Gmail widget I was using previously, so I removed my account from the HTC Mail widget.So, my problem is that I no longer receive any notifications from the original Gmail widget when I get new e-mails. In fact, I no longer receive any notifications when I get e-mails. I have gone through all the settings I could find and all notifications are set to update automatically and alert me. The only thing I have not yet done is the account reset because this says I will have to reset my phone to factory settings and I don't want to lose everything I have on it at this point.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I first setup my Incredible, I signed on to Gmail. Whenever I receive an e-mail, I get two, one Gmail and one HTC. I dragged the HTC mail widget to the recycle bin. Than I went to manage applications and forced stop the HTC mail. This works until I power off the phone. Each time I boot it back up, I need to go to applications and choose forced stop. It is a small pain but still a pain. One is this happening to anyone else and second does anyone have a solution?

My problem is that i am receiving notifications that i have new mail but there is nothing showing in the inbox. I have check my inbox online and yes there is new mail, but it is not showing up on my device. I have also tried deleting the account and re adding it but the same thing happens all over again after a few mins.
I tried to set up my pop3 e-mail on my phone last night and I keep getting a "username or password is incorrect" error message on my incoming email. I am able to send e-mail from the phone.The funny thing is that if I check my email from my PC and empty any e-mail's that are in my inbox, then try to check for new e-mail's with my DroidX (knowing that there are none) I do not get any errors.The errors only occur when there are e-mails in my inbox.Didn't have any problems with this setup with the incredible.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a SAMSUNG Galaxy phone and had set up my official mail (yahoo business mail) under E-Mail settings. And I was receiving mails for a week. Now for the last 3 days, no mails are downlaoding and when I click Email, it only shows 'Load More Messages', but on clicking nothing happens. I am think of resetting it, but dont know how to do it. I tried holding the Email and drag it to the Trash, it moves to trash, but reappears. I tried to delete the Yahoo Biz Mail credentials I had given, so as to recreate, but after clearing each field, there is no way you can save it.

Any word on if Google plans to open up the e-mail app that gmail uses for other e-mail accounts (hotmail, yahoo, etc). I don't want to forward my mail to gmail nor do I want to switch everything over. I would just like the functionality of the gmail app that came on the phone for other e-mail accounts as well.Anyone know of any updates coming that might address this?

I am getting notifications from both so I have to read and delete everything twice. I can't Uninstall either of them. Is there a fix for this? I checked hand cent delivery report under the hand cent settings and unchecked delivery report from carrier. I searched all the other menus and can't figure it out. I get one pop up that has a done/later/eply window and then another underneath that is bigger that has little icons(paper,mike,person,trash and volume) Is this normal behavior? Or is there a setting that I just cannot find.

I call them back, only to encounter more of the same. I reboot my phone, all is good...until the next occurrence. Contacted Verizon Tech-center, who walked me through a factory default settings switch. Called Verizon back to inform them that the factory default was not help.
They updated my case, and will have the Tech. dept. call me back. Initially this would happen once a month, now it's two-three times a week. Everything else on the Droid works fine - Internet, Email-Sync, Apps...
I've recently been receiving SMS message from 6245 (I know - it's "MAIL" on the keypad) that says: "//BREW:0X0106DCC7:UPDCHK:MajorVersion:4.0.07.04*END".
Is anyone else receiving this, or know what it is? I received 3 of these today, and about 5 over the last several days. It seems to have happened after installing Trapster. I don't see anything on their forum that gives me any clues.
Why do I keep receiving texts a little movies instead of just a picture? This is getting annoying. Every pic I get sent to me is like this and every pic I send does the same. Am I doing something wrong?
