I should be getting my DX next week. I'm a geek so not afraid of rooting or etc. I like to have the best looking apps and fastest experience, etc. what is the top 10 things I should do after getting my new DX?

Is that normal? I installed Handcent which is what I'd like to use. I checked hand cent delivery report under the hand cent settings and unchecked delivery report from carrier. I searched all the other menus and can't figure it out. I get one pop up that has a done/later/eply window and then another underneath that is bigger that has little icons(paper,mike,person,trash and volume) Is this normal behavior? Or is there a setting that I just cannot find.

View 10 Replies View RelatedOn my DX, I'm using the stock messaging client. Whenever I get a picture sent to me via MMS, it shows up twice. Regular text-only SMS shows up once. It doesn't matter if I'm using stock client or Chomp SMS or under 2.1 or the leaked 2.2. Anyone seen this before?
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust the other day i did a factory reset/themed (revolution)/and added the build.prop last night. well now i am receiving the same text message twice in a row. i restarted the phone and did a back from the other day so that should not have the build prop on it but it is still doing the double text. have any of you had this problem? and is there a way to get rid of the theme othe than another factory reset?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI set up my Comcast e-mail account on my Droid phone. Several times a day, I receive blank e-mails dated 12/31/1969 (the time sent is always 7:00 p.m.). Plus, there is no name in the "To:" line or in the "Sent by" area. Any ideas on why I keep receiving these e-mails?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIntermittent head-set issues, specifically No sound when placing or receiving calls. I receive a call, they can hear me...but I can't hear them. I call them back, only to encounter more of the same. I reboot my phone, all is good...until the next occurrence. Contacted Verizon Tech-center, who walked me through a factory default settings switch. Called Verizon back to inform them that the factory default was not help.
They updated my case, and will have the Tech. dept. call me back. Initially this would happen once a month, now it's two-three times a week. Everything else on the Droid works fine - Internet, Email-Sync, Apps...
I've recently been receiving SMS message from 6245 (I know - it's "MAIL" on the keypad) that says: "//BREW:0X0106DCC7:UPDCHK:MajorVersion:4.0.07.04*END".
Is anyone else receiving this, or know what it is? I received 3 of these today, and about 5 over the last several days. It seems to have happened after installing Trapster. I don't see anything on their forum that gives me any clues.
Why do I keep receiving texts a little movies instead of just a picture? This is getting annoying. Every pic I get sent to me is like this and every pic I send does the same. Am I doing something wrong?

1) I'm missing the Market app
2) I'm not receiving OTA updates (says system is up to date) Anyway to keep going without wiping?
When I send an e-mail from my Droid using my GMail account with the default GMail app, it sends me a copy of the e-mail. It does not do this with my other e-mail app. This is terribly annoying. I don't want a new e-mail of the e-mail I just sent in my inbox every time I send an e-mail. Is it possible to turn this off? I looked for a "reciept" option in the settings, but found nothing. The other e-mail app does not do this for my non-gmail accounts.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I make a call, or sometime when someone calls me, I have to put the phone on speaker in order to hear the other end. Apparently, whoever is on the other end can still hear me before I do this, but it is pretty much happening all the time now. Has anyone else experienced this? I googled and looked for some kind of setting, but I have not found a solution yet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo my boyfriend has the Moto Droid. Every night he puts it on charger dock and in the morning picks phone up and its 100%, five minutes later it will die completely. He bought a new battery, plus a battery charger, a new car charger and home charger but it still does it. Basically has to be charged all day long to be used. Has this happened to anyone else?
Also, tried replacing. Upon receiving replacement it was rendered defective due too loose screen. New one coming friday.
I have a Moto Droid and just recently it stopped receiving e-mails (I assume phone calls and texts, as well though I never tested). I have 2 Comcast POP3 emails setup on my phone to sync every 30 minutes. Randomly, the phone will stop receiving e-mails--I can't manually sync and end up having to turn the phone off and on (not pulling the battery) to receive e-mails again. This happened with my old BB too. Does anyone know of a reason why my phone stops functioning properly?

Then all a sudden when i went back to text someone else my whole thread was gone and all my messages had been deleted. I am receiving a text that says "122 Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code. 0605040710000041637469766174653A64743D36", but I haven't even sent any text messages.. It started doing that right after I successfully unlocked the phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I spent an hour of useless troubleshooting with him having to turn my phone off and on a bunch and doing a factory reset. After that didn't fix it (surprise surprise, all that inconvenience for nothing) he tells me I'll have to have it replaced with a refurb. I told him that I don't consider a refurbished phone to be an equal replacement and I'm happy to pay a fee of some kind to get a new Eris, just like I would if I went through the insurance (cause those are new, right? if they're refurbs I'll be pissed...). He LAUGHED at me, and said "Every time a phone comes to the end of its term people call in with excuses to get the new model. This is why we don't make exceptions, or else more people like you would be calling in."

I went to the verizon store and all they said was to just take out battery, ive done that a couple times and its gotten worse. Does anyone know a way to fix it.
