My WiFi drops connection all the time which seems to be a common problem for many Hero users. I've found the 'Wifi Fixer' application helps a little bit. You can download it for free from Market. It tries to reconnect your WiFi in the background everytime it drops.

View 7 Replies View RelatedOkay so my phone keeps dropping 3G and it wont be able to find it for hours but then it will find it then lose it again. I tried restarting the phone and it still is doing it. I also looked on my brother's Evo and his has connection when mine does not so I know it is not a problem with our tower, any suggestions on what to do.

My phone has recently started to randomly drop 3G so that I am unable to surf the web, receive emails etc. Does anyone know what might be causing this problem? I live in South Florida where 3G has always been fine. I would greatly appreciate anybody's input. Rebooting the phone helps for a while.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted Evo 4G currently running the latest Fresh. Also running the current Wireless Tether App 2.0.5 pre 9. I am always having a problem of the client computer just dropping connection and no longer can find the broadcasting signal. Seems like the phone just stops broadcasting randomly. Only way to fix it is to disable and then enable the wireless tethering again. This happens about every 10-15 minutes, on any computer I try. Work, home, shop, everywhere. I also tried wiping the phone completely and re-installing the app. Is there a more reliable wireless tether app out there?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have program that runs a bluetooth connection. The socket connects fine. We then read/write from the related streams. This works fine for about a minute, then we start to get IOExceptions from the InputStream.available() and OutputStream.write() functions. The IOException indicates that the socket has been closed. Could anybody take a stab at what might be going on here?

i've had my droidx since it came out. Its always worked great. but for the last two weeks or so it has been VERY annoying. App for chatting like AIN or trillian do not connect long enough or well enough to talk to people. My service is also lagging as well as wifi. And my market is very very bad with loading. Any suggestions? I do not have an automatic task killer. And i do use juicedefender, but on days i leave it off i have the same problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThere appears to be an issue with my Hero-router WiFi connection. Has anyone had similar experiences or have any advice? My Hero can generally see my home wireless router and report a good signal, though the visibility can drop out (when my other devices are still happily connected). It can also see my neighbors' networks, so it isn't a range issue.
For the most part, the Hero just doesn't seem to want to connect. If I reboot the router it will connect briefly for a couple of secs. I've tried altering a few of the router broadcast settings, trying b-only/ g-only/ b+g, but this hasn't helped (n isn't available, but I understand the Hero to be g anyway). I haven't yet been to another WiFi area, to check if it will connect to other networks. My suspicion is it is a specific compatibility issue with my router (Zoom).
I hot major WiFi trouble, connects to belkin n routes for ten seconds then says no connection, after three phones orange says it router, I am well annoyed with the whole situation and orange are saying that view have no other calls or problems with the hero, seems strange as it hot topic here.

View 18 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having an issue with their WiFi dropping at random times? I'm about 25' from my Verizon router, so signal strength isn't an issue. I don't even know when it's happening most of the time. I only realize because opening a page or downloading something is slow. I have the Sleep Policy set to Never, so it's not that. The strange thing is is I go into Wireless Settings, as soon as I click on Wireless, it picks the router back up and reconnects. I have several other devices on WiFi here and they are all working perfectly fine.

I have not changed any of my router settings/phone settings, so this is strange. I have tried deleting link and re inputting key (this worked once, but now no longer works)

I've been having a problem for the last few hours where my Hero refuses to download anything without a WiFi connection. I've been messing with it and it seems like my mobile network isn't connecting correctly. I had to power down the phone earlier because it froze to black screen and I couldn't escape out of it and ever since then its been problematic. My Mobile network icon says "standby for connecting to mobile network" I'm not sure if thats bad or good, never actually looked at it. Any help or am I gonna want to do a factory reset?

When mobile network is off and WiFi is enabled, I cannot retrieve my Yahoo Mail. It has never really bothered me, because when mobile network is connected and WiFi is off, my mail app (which is connected to Yahoo - I don't use Gmail) worked perfectly fine. Does anybody else use Yahoo as their email server and has the same issue? Is it just Google sticking it to their customers and to Yahoo by saying "ok, if you wan't to use our (#1 competitor's) email service, then we will make it so it will only work on Mobile Networks.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a verizon fios wireless router, model MI424WR, and i am having trouble maintaining a wireless connection with my eris. i have no problem with the initial connection, but after a few minutes the connection no longer works. my eris still shows that it is connected to my wireless network, but if i attempt to open a webpage, use twitter, etc it says that there is no connection. i changed my eris settings to never let the wireless sleep, but it has not seemed to work. any ideas on how to fix this.

Then I realized that my G1 (running Froyo) has WiFi, and I have the USB cable for it. So, is there any way of setting up my G1 to use the connection from the desktop PC via USB, and then broadcast it as a WiFi network? This is only intended to be a temporary solution (a few days) so I'm not going to go out and buy a wireless router or anything.
If my screen locks while I have a wifi connection, then the connection is lost when I unlock the phone.First, is this perhaps deliberate, to save power?
