View 7 RepliesWell I have S4 I9500 and whenever I tried to connect to my work network after updating to a clean android 4.3*OTA, I receive a notification stating that: This network has been disconnected. You need to sign-in again. This also happened to all 4.3 users in my workplace. 2 colleagues using Note 3 and another colleague using S4 19500. All of us can log onto various networks outside of our workplace like home and coffee shops. After doing some research I found out that I have to turn off wifi optimization but that option is not available in S4.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince two days ago everything was fine and everything worked perfectly, it was almost too good to be true, and of course something had to break. My phone is connected to my home wireless and it even has really strong signal but going on the internet simply doesnt work. Going on with mobile data works, but connected to my main wifi source doesnt. I've been trying everything from dailing *#0011# to changing the ips and gateways and whatever. It can connect to the wifi but going on the internet/facebook/youtube is difficult.
View 7 Replies View Relatedthe phone automatically disables the Wi-Fi connection and switches over to data which she chews through really rather quickly.
I've got no problem with her downloading the universe when connected to my ADSL but preferably not through cellular data.
How I can go about disabling this "auto-disabling" of the Wi-Fi connection when it detects that it is slow? I couldn't find the option but I also find the S4's settings a tad disorganised.
I don't have this happening on my phone (BB10) so I wasn't expecting this to happen and she doesn't check the symbol at the top to see whether it's on Wi-Fi or not.
It is a Samsung Galaxy S4 running 4.3.1
Have set up Portable Wi-Fi hotspot on my 4S 4.2.2. Everything seems OK and laptop identifies AP and connects to it
but there is no internet connection to the phone. Data 3G works perfectly - regular internet works perfectly - Orange UK.
My WiFi drops connection all the time which seems to be a common problem for many Hero users. I've found the 'Wifi Fixer' application helps a little bit. You can download it for free from Market. It tries to reconnect your WiFi in the background everytime it drops.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI have connections in all different time zones, and I used to schedule my texts to go out during their daytime hours. Now with 4.3, I do not seem to have that option.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't own an Android 4.3 tablet yet but I need to know the following things.I wanted to restrict my device so that a user is unable to change any settings (in particular turn on/off WiFi) and disable all applications except one.How strict is the restriction?
If I disable all apps except one what will the restricted user be able to do?
In an ideal scenario I'd like the restricted user to do only 3 things:
a) turn the tablet on/off
b) turn the application of my choosing on/off
c) all other options would be disabled
d) the restricted user should NOT see any data of the administrator
I first noticed this maybe late last week where my phone would appear to have data (bars and the 3g/4g symbol) but not actually being able to connect to things. I'd enable and disable airplane mode to reset things and it would work for awhile.
Yesterday, I contacted Sprint about this because it is fairly annoying. While paying closer attention, I started noticing that my data worked with 4G but would not with 3G. In Settings -> More Networks -> Mobile Networks - > Network Mode: I changed it from LTE/CDMA to CDMA. When the phone rebooted, I was on 3G and the data worked. When I changed it back to LTE/CDMA 4G would work but 3G would not. I've also tried Automatic and 4G works but 3G does not. Needless to say, I spent an hour with customer support and their best solution was to just leave it in CDMA mode. When I complained that I'd lose my 4G service, the tech asked for my zip code and after a moment told me 4G was unavailable in my area. I've been using it for more than 6 months, was using it today, and have seen the sensorly maps showing 4G availability......
It definitely seems like a phone issue over a network issue because the 3G network is clearly working if I can use it when I've disabled LTE. The most annoying/frustrating issue is that the phone claims to have 3G but nothing works.
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S4
Provider: Sprint
Android Version: 4.3
Went through the Over Air update process yesterday, now WIFI drops all the time and the battery performance is so ppor the phone will not last a day!!! Can I put back the old SW or get this fixed some how? (edit a config fiel or somthing.......?)
View 2 Replies View RelatedMost of my Android contacts are listed as "device" under the "connection" heading. About 10% of my contacts are listed as either "google" or as "google" and "device". The contacts that are have Google under the Connection heading auto-sync to Google+, the remaining 90% of my contacts don't sync.
Is there a way to edit/change the Connection type to add Google to all my contacts?
Getting "no connection" when I try to run Play Store app on my LG Optimus L9, rooted phone. I've tried everything I could find on various forums to fix this. Adjusted date/time, switched from manual date/time and back to auto from internet, deleted "hosts" file from the system/etc folder, emptied cache and wiped data from the app using titanium backup, and some other things I can't even remember now. I found a site where I could download a more current version of the Play Store app in an apk file and install it (AndroidPolice site). Is that likely to fix this "no connection" issue? I currently have android 4.1.2, and my Playstore app is 4.0.25. I've also wiped data and cleared cache and restored Google Play services. I haven't tried uninstalling either Play Services or Play Store because I'm afraid to do that. I did use Autorun Manager to make them not load on reboot, but that didn't change anything, so I set them back to automatically load. I also tried freezing them both and separately one at a time.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm currently using a Nexus 7 (2012 model) running Android Jelly Bean 4.3. I've been having a strange issue where the Google Play app keeps saying there is no connection. This has also occurred in the Youtube app. I have tried changing my time manually, rebooting my device, and uninstalling updates, to no avail. I am currently unlocked and rooted, and using TWRP as my recovery.

What's app, bbm, and emails are working correctly as push.
The wifi worked fine until I disconnected for the first time. Since then the phone never wanted to reconnect to our private network no matter what I tried. I tried switching the wifi off and back on again. Tried switching the phone on and off again multiple times. I even tried to use a static IP address but that also didn't seem to work. I also tried switching the 'Wi-Fi optimisation' off as well as setting the 'Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep' to 'Always'.
With one of my previous phone (HTC Wildfire) I've experienced the infamous wifi-loop many times (Connecting, Fetching Ip, Connected, Disconnected, Connecting...). But I never experienced that on my Xperia S(Android 4.1) (although I have experienced different wifi problems on it (i.e., IP clashes, etc.)).
The problem is NOT at the modem (I've tried reseting it MANY time and it still doesn't solve my solution. My laptop is successfully connected to our wifi. And I even tried switch the laptop off). The phone itself is not connecting AT ALL to the wifi. It is however connecting to my mobile network.
I want to install my apps only when I'm wifi connected. It's install not update.
I already checked those options in Google Play Store settings related to update app in wifi, but it continues to instant install my apps after I click install at Google Play in my desktop browser even if I'm using 3G.
I've a Samsung Galaxy S3.
Its been a week since I am facing this issue. When I sleep and the phone goes into stand by mode, it automatically turns on WiFi even though I have already disabled the option saying, KEEP WLAN ON DURING SLEEP.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt won't even turn on. It just looks dim green for one second then turns off. This has happened before and can us uh ally be fixed with a quick turn restart but now its not working.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOften there are wifi points that make the radio connection like an open network, but really require some entering of registration on a web paage before actually connecting to internet. Starbucks here in Japan is an example.
My s4 connects wifi signal to such points, but after it cannot complete the registration, it thinks "no internet", even though it has perfectly strong LTE connection. And refuses to connect via LTE. In such case, I have to turn off wifi and then it's fine.
This is annoying in my office because my group's wifi is different from the one for the building in general, so I have to turn the wifi off and on depending on where I am in the building.
Is there a way to tell the s4 to "ignore wifi that doesn't have internet connection and use Cell signal instead"?
Working Wifi tether for root users on jelly bean? It hasn't worked on any of the jelly bean roms for me. I've tried must main stream jb roms for the galaxy nexus.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIf I leave my WiFi on, every time the phone encounters a WiFi network I lose data connectivity because it tries to use the WiFi network even though it is passworded and I'm not logged on, instead of me 3G.
How do I prevent this behavior and just have it use my 3G until I'm logged into a WiFi network or the WiFi network has an internet connection?
I had Xolo Q700 Android jelly bean 4.2. There is no option of WiFi Direct in send file option. I want to know how to use wifi direct for sending the files.

My android 4.1.2 really turns off the wifi when in sleep mode. I see it in the battery monitor.
But after I formated the cellphone, It started with the bug of not turning off the wi-fi in the sleep mode, even when set to do it Maybe some app that I installed before has changed some internal settings!
Before, my battery was lasting almost 4 days, I not use it too much, but now it lasts 2 days only... and I have sure that it's because of the wi-fi bug.
Is there an explanation as to why my Android shows "Connected to null" after I turn the WIFI off?? What does that mean?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I updated to 4.3 no problem and a little while later a got some type of a 26 Mb patch. I downloaded it and installed it and since then my wifi will no switch on. I am extremely frustrated with this and I really want to fix this. I would greatly prefer not doing a factory reset if possible.

Also reset the Wi-Fi modem on my Laptop. Still the same.
