Sep 3, 2010Does anyone use the swipe gesture on the dock icons for Launcher Pro? If you don't know about it... long press an icon on your dock and you can program what you want the swipe gesture to do when you swipe up on the specified dock icon. I recently rediscovered it and am trying to find any good ideas of how I can utilize them. Also, it would be good to share with everyone else!

Nov 29, 2009As you know, when you boot up the droid, you get the option to swipe right and put the phone on "silent". However, once you set up your phone with a security pattern, the first screen to come up is the pattern screen, and then you no longer get the swipe right option screen. Is the only way then to go into sound settings and put the phone on silent the "long way"? Any way to get the silent swipe right screen to come up AFTER the pattern unlock screen?
Also, has anyone noticed that around the entire rectangle glass screen, there's a tiny groove on all 4 sides, which is starting to collect dust particles? I'm getting dust particles in these "tiny grooves" along the edges of the screen before you hit the metal. Yes, I do carry the Droid in a holster, and I'm pretty OCD about my equipment, so it isn't ME.

Sep 16, 2010Update: According to posters below it doesn't work on their fascinate. You can control the screen brightness, by swiping right or left, up where the notification bar is. if it doesn't work, try turning off power saving mode. settings>sound and display>power saving mode uncheck

Aug 26, 2010Alright, I went to a website that I was directed to go to. I had no problem viewing the main page, but when I click on a tab from the home page, it opens up that over top of the home page, like an overlay. I have no problem seeing this either. The problem is when I try to scroll on the overlay, I get these black boxes that surround the overlay and then it locks up and kicks me out of the browser or reboots my phone. I tried messing with the browser setting but that didn't help. Does anyone know what may be causing this?

Nov 19, 2010Is there a certain trick to viewing call details, suck as the exact time a call was recieved or missed? I have the D2 global. Just upgraded from D1. All I used to do on D1 was long press and then scroll down to "view call details". D2 doesnt seem to have that option.

Jan 12, 2010I downloaded a pattern lock widget and I wasn't sure if I really wanted to use it so I opened the widget and read the first screen or two to see what it was all about but I never set up a pattern on it - I decided that I didn't want the program. So I set my phone aside for a minute and the screen locked but when I hit the power button to turn the screen back on, the pattern lock screen was there, not the "slide to unlock" screen.
So I just ran my fingers in a random pattern (not even connecting dots - just a random swipe) and it let me right in, Okay, fine. Then I went and uninstalled the app and tried locking the screen to make sure it was gone. Sure enough, the pattern lock screen was there when I tried to unlock it. Again, I ran my fingers in a random swipe and it let me in. I tried pulling the battery and that didn't get rid of it.
So at this point, I seem to be stuck with a pattern lock screen to unlock my phone that is not set to any specific pattern...And I don't even have the app installed anymore! (It's not listed in the list of installed apps.) How do I get rid of it? I just want to go back to the stock "slide to unlock" screen.

Motorola Droid :: Swipe To Dismiss Soft Keyboard - Since Froyo
Aug 23, 2010Ever since I updated to Froyo I've had trouble dismissing the soft keyboard by swiping down - frequently getting two additional characters typed (the one where the swipe started and the one where my finger left the screen) instead of dismissing the keyboard.
I know I can hit the back button to dismiss the keyboard, but is anyone else having this problem, and is there a fix?
Motorola Droid :: Browser Viewing Causes Phone / OS To Lock Up
Nov 12, 2009I have only had the Droid for 24 hours and I have had it reset on me about 8 times already. I really am not too sure why. Mostly its been while doing different tasks in different applications. But as of the last 3 times, it has been while I was using the Broswer. Essentially, it just completely locks up (no haptic feedback either) and either resets itself, or else I have to hold teh Shift+Alt+Del to reset it.Has anyone else had this problem?

Jul 19, 2010I'm finding that I'm using the back button A LOT whether browsing the web or just navigating the OS. It kind of sucks because the buttons on the droid x are well, really small, and sometimes hard to press because they are so narrow and flimsy feeling. And depending on how you are holding the phone, it could be a good bit of distance for your thumb to travel or I'm finding myself having to reposition the phone in my hands just to reach the back button, which you seem to need very frequently.
Anyone know of any kind of back 'swipe' implementation ? Like some software you can install that makes it if you swipe left to right on maybe the top bar it goes back?

Okay, should be the second option. But when I click on this (Open Folder), the only folder options I get are things like: Autorun, Config, Setup, etc.). No "folders" per se.
