How do you get pictures imbedded in e-mails to show up? They are giving me the ? rather than the pic. It seems I can seem them went sent from other gmail users, but not regular e-mail senders.From what I read, this is the same with other Android phones, why wouldn't 2.0 fix this?

Anyone notice pics in emails sent via Gmail look like little blue squares. Gotta use browser Gmail to see. Any way to get this to work right in app.

I tried just putting in my own images into my gmail contacts to see if they would show up in the google voice app and they still dont show up. My ideal situation would be to use the facebook pictures, but if I need to I will go the second route of putting individual images into my gmail contacts and sync them that way, but I can't get either to work
Believe me when I say that I never thought in a million years it would be possible to have a smartphone with a worse mail app than the iphone. Then the Droid came. I mean come on! We can't save pictures, can't batch delete, hell we can't even click most links! Maybe I'm venting a little, but It's kind of embarassing when your a company's web apps work better than their natively installed apps that come pre-installed on a phone whose OS you developed!
View 49 Replies View RelatedEmailed myself an excel file. I have already installed Shead Spreet Pro (excel editor). After I opened up the email in gmail, I previewed the excel file (wouldn't/couldn't use Shead Spreet) but could not download it to the phone.
The more I use this phone the more I feel helpless using gmail.
You can't search all gmail accounts at once...etc...etc.
You have to so many gmail limitation, I can't believe how much better my Blackberry took care of gmail.

They never did before, and i had stopped trying because of that. Then i did today out of curiosity and it worked. Was this something that happened with v3 and i just missed it?

I took it to the Verizon store yesterday and they told me that it is a known issue with the phone, and they are working on corrective software to solve the problem. Anyone else have the same issue ? (They wanted to do a hard reset which I declined).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to download mp3 files from my file server onto my Droid. Everytime I try to download a song I get the error message Download Unsuccessful. I thought it was a problem with my server but all of my computers can download from it, and I just went and got my mom's Droid ERIS to test. It could successfully download mp3 files from the server. This is ridiculous, why wouldn't my Droid be able to download these files but the ERIS can? Is this a case of Droid DOESN'T?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a small problem with my G1 that is driving me slightly insane. Hopefully someone has a suggestion.
If this is already covered - I couldn't find it, so please point me in the right direction.
I have my G1 sync'ing with my gmail for contacts (obviously), and a large number of my gmail contacts have pictures associated with them.
This all works fine for a while, and then... consistently... after a few days... the pictures on my contacts get messed up. They kinda swap around, and some of them seem to use random pictures which have been linked to contacts in the past, or perhaps even not at all.
I do not know whether this is getting messed up on my G1, and replicated to gmail, or the other way around, but I can't stop it happening and its massively annoying.
Any other information can be provided, but if anyone else has this problem or knows how I might fix it, it would probably save my sanity greatly.
I go into my GMail account and add pictures, using the tool on the site. I check my phone, and some show up. Others don't. I wait a while... still no go. I go into the settings and force a sync. Still no love.
So, some pictures show up on the phone, and others do not. Should I wait a few hours or something? Is there some pictures that will work in GMail, but the phone rejects? I'm not all broken up over this, but it sure is inconvenient.
Is there anyway to attach more than one pic at a time to an email in gmail?

I get a notification that the "Message was not downloaded"...under that it says: "Generic Network Failure". I've seen a number of posts on various forums about this...but can't find a fix. Predictably, Sprint's suggestion is to do a hard reset. (They act as if that's no big deal...seems to me that it will take a long time to get my device put back together the way it is). BTW: Have tried to access texts via 3g rather than Wi-Fi, etc. Lately, it has been one thing after the other with the EVO.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just updated my Galaxy SII GT-I9100 to the latest official 4.1.2 JB, and wiped my phone beforehand so I could have everything from scratch.
All my contacts are in Gmail with hi-res pictures set there, so I did not worry about having lo-res pictures after Google supposedly fixed the picture quality issue.
Thing is, after I set my Google account on the fresh installation, it indeed synced each contact's picture, but in lo-res!
I noticed sometimes, when I opened up the contact and waited a few moments, the picture was automatically changed for the hi-res version, as if the cellphone only downloaded it "on demand".
How to truly make it download every contact's HD picture properly without having to open each contact's picture?
Pictures and things that need to be downloaded I'm getting through texts won't download.
