We use Cisco ip phones in my office and the entire 3 facilities we own are covered by wifi.Anyone know if there is anyway to duplicate my desktop phone onto the Droid,similar to Cisco's IP Communicator program which runs on my Laptop.It would be great to get my calls,answer pages, make pages,and use our 3 digit dialing from my droid.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI happily switched from my Seidio Innocase to the Droid Commuter Case, and I have had it for about a month now. I really enjoy the case, but I have noticed that the sides of the back part of the case tend to give and squeek alot if I put pressure on them. Not sure how to explain that better, but hope that makes sense to some of you guys. Anyone else with this case notice a similar issue?
I bought this handy little widget a few weeks ago because it gives me a much better idea of my signal strength. It works great most of the time. The only issues come when I reboot my phone and the widget, option for the widget and icon disappear from my phone. I have to uninstall/reinstall it to get it back up again. I emailed the dev and have yet to receive a response. Any ideas on a fix for this or is it just a marketing scam to inflate his download numbers?

Once again, the configuration is not straightforward, but, mainly, I use IPSec, I have an ID for the VPN, a gateway URL, a secret word, IKE Authmode of PSK, IKE DH Group, Xauth username, Xauth password, I need to enable Single DES, and I have two 'target networks'.
The fact is that Android (2.1)'s built-in VPN does not ask me all these info. It keeps asking for a pre-shared key (this is evidently the contrary of the certificate method), but I do not have such a pre-shared key. Connecting (to the VPN) through my computer works perfectly. What can I do to make Android compatible with the VPN?

I downloaded and installed from the Android Market. When you first start the app, it scans your phone for media. I turned on my Droid's Wifi. The TwonkyServer Mobile was immediately visible to any DLNA or UPnP client. It took 2 minutes. No setup was involved. The UI looks pretty cool too.

I will respond to any direct questions in regards to my configuration.I have a brand new Motorola Droid 2 and a Cisco 851w wireless router which I have configured myself.I can successfully associate the droid 2 to my wireless network. It obtains an IP address, subnet mask, gateway, etc.Using an android market ping utility, however I cannot ping externally or even to my gateway.I've tried the following in the process of my troubleshooting:tatically assigning my droid's internal addresses (and explicitly naming DNS).Unhiding my SSID Provisioning an alternate completely unsecured, unhidden wireless SSID (as opposed to an original hidden SSID, WPA2/PSK configuration)Restarting the phone and routerLaptop devices are able and have been able to associate, and pass traffic without issue for over a year.I cannot really pinpoint an issue with this setup, as I am able to associate and browse consumer/business wireless networks elsewhere without issue. Searches for the above described issue yield the same suggestions I have attempted in the process of my troubleshooting.

I have had a rooted phone since before i even walked out of the T-Mobile store with it and it has never misbehaved or done anything strange. I am writing my first Android app. The app is displays bus stop information i want to have a panel for each stop that the user can scroll sideways through, like a weather app with a panel for each city.
Looking at the Dev Guide I don't see how to do this. What Layout Object/ViewGroup should I be using?
I am trying to build a layout dynamically which display some text and image for the most part, but has a series of buttons placed next to each other in the bottom. I have a linear layout that carries the text, another linear layout that carries the image. And yet another linear layout that carries the buttons that get created in a for loop. I have a main layout aligned vertical that adds the text, image and buttons layout, in that order. To finally generate something like this: Text Image Button1 Button2 Button3. The problem is the number of buttons get decided at runtime, so if there are more than 4 buttons, the 5th button gets displayed really tiny. Also, when I tilt the phone, I get only the text and image showing, but no buttons because the image covers the entire screen. Layout thing seems to be pretty complicated to me, any help is appreciated!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new phone and have started using the stock Android calendar. I put in my work schedule as a recurring series...M,W,Th,F at the same time every week. I am taking a Friday off in a few weeks, so I went to delete that event only and there is NO option to delete just that day. My options are "This & future events" or "All events". I also tried Jorte calendar app at the recommendation of a Verizon employee and it is doing the same thing. There has to be a setting or something I am missing. I should not have to re-input all my data every time I take a day off. My old phone gave me the option to delete "This event only".

Sometimes editing a recurring event shows "Change only this event", "Change all events in the series" and "Change this and all future events" options, but other times the only options are "Change all events in the series" and "Change this and all future events". Does anyone know what you have to do to get the "Change only this event" option when editing a recurring event?

View 13 Replies View Relatedlooked for an answer on quite a few threads and forums on this one.on my moto droid, there are a couple mobile sites that will not stream video, but work on my old omnia, and my brothers htc hero. ie break mobile, the onion, and a few random other ones. sometimes it will play one video, then every other video from that server gives a "video not eligable for streaming on this device" or similar error message. it seems odd to me that some mobile vids will work on a hero but not the droid? or is it just my phone? anyone else fed up with this?
