I just got my Motorola Droid 2 weeks ago and I've been having problems answering phone calls about half the time. When I answer them I hear no sound at all that's pretty much it lol I have the volume up so I'm positive its not that xD plz help this is getting annoying.

About 25% of the time my phone will ring and I go to swipe the lock to answer the call and I get no response from the slider. If and when it does decide to slide the call has already gone to voicemail. And if I turn the slide screen off in settings and the phone rings, tapping the "answer call" button does nothing (again, not all of the time).
I just tried to duplicate it calling my DX from my workphone and it slides fine and answers the call. Anyone have any ideas what might be causing the slider to not slide some of the time? Other than with answering the phone I've had no problems with the touch-screen.
I'm having an awful time with my Eris when it comes to picking up calls and an even worse time dialing out. Everything is delayed after pressing keys. This morning I went to dial someone and when it didn't dial I set the phone down to use my office phone and then out of the corner of my eye I see it was calling the person. Once I had the person on the phone w/in a minute my cheek (I'm assuming) ended the call.
So the screen was in the call history list so I pressed his name again to call and it called the next person below on the list. It was probably adding his name to the call history and moved the list but because it was delayed it dialed the wrong person. I love this phone except for phone Calls. I'm going into Verizon today to complain. They will be able to tell from my call history how frequently I'm missing calls because the phone doesn't pick up and then I redial back. 5 calls back and forth for a 2 minute conversations!
Often times when my phone rings. when I pick it up I can hear the person that's calling coming thru the speaker before I answer. It's almost like the phone is partly answering itself.

The Remotecall app in Playstore still requires me to pick up my phone in order to actually hear something..
its got all the other features i'd like to use: answer calls from my PC, make calls from pc (from , for example, the outlook contactlist), call Log capability; but i have to pick up my phone when i probably can just hear it through my headphone (connected to PC)
I think i should be looking for some sort of voip server on my phone and let my computer act as voip client, but i'm not entirely sure about that.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI recently bought this phone from Rogers (I still have a week to test this thing out to make sure it's not broken) I'm noticing that answering incoming calls can sometimes take up to 20 seconds before the other side can hear me! I can make calls and people can hear me as soon as the call begins but I'm answering the phone after it has shut itself down (I mean the screen goes dark and then I need to slide the slider on the screen to answer the call) SOMETIMES there will be a few seconds delay, sometimes nothing but I've had up to 20 seconds delay on multiple occasions I'm running 1.6, and from the sounds of it, we won't get 2.1 until next month but is ANYONE else getting these issues? Should I return this phone for another? This is inexcusable and I am having too many callers hang up the phone on me because they think they have a bad connection but in reality there is a delay before they can hear me.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am really happy with my Droid Eris, but there is one exception. I listen to Pandora on my phone almost daily at work. I have a radio that has an audio input so I connect my phone and play it through the radio. The problem is when someone calls me. I usually don't answer and call them right back from the work line, but sometimes, like today, I get frustrated and I want to answer the cell. First, if I don't disconnect the headphone jack the person calling cannot hear me. Second, if I disconnect it and take the call as soon as the call disconnects the music starts and it is usually blaring! This happened today and I was so embarrassed when the song 'Broken Wings' by Mr. Mister went blaring and about 30 people could hear it and the phone was not responding to turn it off! I really hope someone can help me with this issue.

Just bought my wife her first Android phone, an original Droid (A855). Seems they're on sale everyhwere since the release of the X. Anyway, she absolutely HATES that Motoblur green side-pulling tab thing for answering a phone call. She just can't seem to get the hang of it. Is there some way to change that, or is there an app available that will change the interface and just give her a simple button to push for answering a call?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince I installed "Car Mode" (it should set all calls to speakerphone when enabled), I'm having troubles with my cellphone it's auto-answering all calls and setting to speakerphone (by "didn't work" I mean it keeps auto-answering calls and setting to speakerphone) I'm not sure car mode is the culprit (I installed some other similar programs, but I think it's likely it is) any ideas on how to revert that on the system.

The swipe up/down feature is terrible since it results in many undesired call answers and ignores while removing the phone from my pocket. I know that it's possible to simply have the 'answer' and 'disconnect' buttons present, but that's even less useful. Has anyone ever implemented a different means of answering calls for this phone? I've been searching for this since I got it.

When I get a call, so far it's my mother who has tried to call me up and each time she calls..When I go to answer my phone it says "Call from mom..Press 1 to answer" or something like that Why the hell does it ask me to press a number before I take the call? It will show the call waiting, yet I cannot answer it to save my life. I have tried the mylockphone tools which is great but whether that is activated or not, I still can't grab the incoming call. Ultimately, I let the person I am speaking to go and then have to call the other person back. What am I doing wrong? I recall my Moto Droid having the same issue.

With the Eris, it is SUPER easy to put someone on hold and then call another person. There is a little phone icon on the bottom right of the dialer, with a plus logo on it. you click that and you can add to your call, which puts one person on hold (it shows you their number on hold) and lets you talk to the other person.

I just woke up and the bottom half of my X's screen is black/grey with green lines! This is the FIRST issue i have had with this phone. Picture is from the only other camera in the house, my crappy webcam, so its hard to really see. Anyone else had this? Did verizon help (especially if you bought it from their site) what should i bring to the store to get it replaced?

And after that, I have been mostly studying and not using my phone... but the second half of the batter drains, it seems like, FASTER than the first half did! No music playing, no wi-fi, no internet browsing? Is this normal? Is it just the nature of these batteries?

I love my eris as a mini computer, use it for all my apps and emails and everything and it works great. Unfortunately, when it comes to working as a telephone, it sucks. It takes between five and twenty seconds after I click on a contact to place a call, and then when a call is ended or lost the screen either shows black for a while or says "HTC" and then reboots. This is particularly annoying when I lose a call and just want to call someone back, but I have to wait about 30 seconds before my phone even shows me my home screen again. Once I'm on a call its usually fine, but getting the phone screen to load and place calls is super slow. I'm running Task Panel on it, but I don't have it auto-killing anything that HTC makes or that is related to phone calls.
View 26 Replies View RelatedI suspect many of you are like me and monkey with your phones so damned much that sometimes it's hard to pinpoint what changes we've made to which changes we've noticed. I've been running UD 9.0 ever since it came out. I've had great battery life with SetCPU profiles set from 250MHz to 1Ghz unless the battery goes below 30%, in which case it goes down to a max of 550MHz with a low still at 250MHz. The only thing I've changed recently is downloads of app updates, (...including SetCPU, btw). The other day my home WiFi crapped out, so I used a tether app and played around online with my laptop using my phone. I had never done it for so long before, but inside of about three hours, my battery was at 20%, when usually at that time of day, it's at hour 13 from last charge, and at about 40%. Now my battery is not lasting a whole 14 hours, where it used to go from 5 AM to 10 PM before it gave me the "15% juice left" heads up. I don't know if it's because of a bad SetCPU update, or a wifi tether app problem, or what.
View 36 Replies View RelatedI normally live in Houston so I obviously have service there but I go to Texas Tech in Lubbock where this used to be alltel. Now the weird thing is that both the voice and text network (a.k.a the one with no signal next to the bars on the droid) as well as 1X national access, is full Verizon now. However, my 3g is still considered extended network!! ( I know this because if I set my phone to home only I lose 3g or if I put it to evdo only my tag changes to extended network) I know that Verizon said that no updates would go to you if you are roaming so I am kind of stuck as to what to expect about getting it, since I am half roaming lol. I have had the phone on wifi as much as I can but nothing yet. I wondered though if you do it on wifi wouldn't that come out really late since wifi does not connect to the network so wont Verizon have to post it somewhere on a server for the phone to find? I still do not understand where the update goes if you use wifi and how your phone knows to look for it. Also i never got the original OTA for 2.0.1 and waited five days before downloading the file but I would like the OTA if possible. Just mainly wanting to know if anyone thinks it is going to work?

When I transferred them over to the Droid, then using the app Android and Rings Extended (no longer working - now coming up as 3rd party app) all my ringtones got significantly shortened.
I had them all set up as MP3 and small (220kb or less). Each one was 30 seconds long or less. Both applications hacked them off between 10 and 20 seconds. Anybody else having this issue?
I have had my Eris since Jan. I am on my 3rd replacement and 2nd in 3 weeks. My first one VZW just kept making excuses and wanting to do factory resets and delete apps because in their words that was the problem. The tech guy on the phone told me that they could only replace it with another eris again so here I sit with another POS that continues to lock up. I have been unable to make calls 80% of the time. What a joke On average I have to remove my battery 3-4 times a day to get it to work.
