I've been running this phone fine now for 6 months or so. All of a sudden earlier this week, there is now a speaker button on the botton middle of my phone when it's in a call.It's a plain ugly white button and it sits UNDER the existing "Mute" "Bluetooth" and "Speaker" buttons that are currently there.

When I use the speaker function on calls, the other callers cannot hear me clearly.I tested it myself with another phone, and I barely hear anything from the other phone.So there is either something wrong with my speaker/mic or the phone?Anybody else having this trouble? Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

My wife has been having some problems where she would hold the phone to her ear with her shoulder and she will accidentally mute her call, or some times put the call on speaker phone. Has anyone else experienced this issue? As hard as i have tried, i am unable to duplicate her issue with her phone or mine...

So I was thinking, is there an app that will allow this? Or can someone make one? I would if I was able to, but I'm not so I'm asking. I guess I can't break the hardware button habit and move the the full touch future.

I would rarely want to go to the dialer as I have all of my contacts saved. Its annoying when having a missed call and I press the phone button and then I go to the dialer instead of the call log.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been running the v3 leak and after the last update, the home button (after pressing it) will return the screen back to the same screen I was just on. The speaker is on all the time, until I turn it off. The next time I use the phone, the speaker is back on. Any suggestions? I have done several hard resets with no luck. The problem started right after the update, then went away after a couple of days and now is back.

Before when in the middle of a call or to hang up a call i just pull the phone away from my head and the screen would come on... or, i would have to use the power up button on the top of the device then swipe to unlock. Now in the middle of a call the power button is not working nor does the screen illuminate when i pull away from my head.

2) Has anyone figured out a way to change the end button behavior that was previously controlled by the Spare Parts app? I would like to end button to go home and then go to sleep but Spare Parts can't do it under the new software. Any ideas?
Really annoying that while on a speaker call the screens times out then I have to hit the bottom at the top of the phone to turn on and end call. Should I just increase time to timeout - but then I will be killing batter?
View 8 Replies View RelatedThe voice call speaker on my Legend has become extremely unpleasant to use for calls. I can only describe the output as scratchy, buzzy or raspy. At first I had hoped it was a reception issue, but since the headset provided works with perfect clarity during a call, I am sure it must be a hardware issue. This issue started 2 months after I bought the phone.I contacted the nearest Bell store (Canadian mobile provider), and described the problem. I was told that 3 other similar cases with the HTC Legend had been received that the representative had heard of.Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? If you sent it away to be fixed, was the problem corrected with no further difficulties?I'm hesitant to pay for the shipping and repair costs if this is a persistent problem or hardware malfunction that is prone to happen time after time.

Is it just that; there's a certain frequency and it matches that of my speaker? Or is it a hardware(?) problem?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with one thing on the Cliq - hanging up calls. Since the end call button is on the screen, 2 things keep happening:
- I hang up on someone by mistake, because my cheek touches the button while I'm talking
- By the time I am done talking, the screen has gone black, so I have to hit the menu button to turn the screen back on.. but that takes me back to the home screen, so I have to navigate through to get back to my call and hang up!
Is there some sort of setting or app that could change the end call button to a hard key, like the back button, so we can hang up that way? It would be a tremendous help!
Does anyone else get bad quality at medium to higher volumes through normal calls (not speakerphone). Anything over two notches from muted gives me a wierd vibrating noise when the other end is talking semi high pitched and consistently. It sounds almost robotic or like paper. I didnt know if this was just my phone, the majority, or all epics suffer from this problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy phone started exhibiting some strange behavior today regarding sound and mic - neither are working (most of the time). If I am receiving a call, the phone will sound the ring, but when I answer it the speaker and mic go dead. If I hit the volume button while the phone is ringing, the speaker also goes dead. When I try to play music, no sound is produced (although if I plug in headphones I find that it is playing). The problem persists after multiple reboots and the Samsung "song" does play during boot. I'm not sure exactly when this started as it was working fine yesterday.

I Installed speaker on when in car kit. WTF the car kit blocks the speaker, so the volume sucks. Do you have to drill holes in the damn thing, or is there a way to increase speaker volume when in car kit?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't know how many others are having this problem, but I hit the mute and/or speaker button frequently while on a call. Is there any way to remove these buttons from the dial screen? The proximity sensor "works" but not in the sense that it works on the iphone. The screen takes several seconds to dim and then can pop on at any time during the call allowing these buttons to pressed with my cheek. Many many times, the speaker has been activated in an environment where it should not be. Are there any apps to prevent this, or do I have a bad proximity sensor? Does the fact that I hold the phone on the left side of my face effect this at all? (most people hold on the right) The last time I tried other advice of pressing home button, the phone has opened a self service apps and was about to start programming itself by the time I got off the phone.
