Are we able to chose the default action when hitting the Phone button? I want to go straight to Call Log and not to Dialer. I would rarely want to go to the dialer as I have all of my contacts saved. Its annoying when having a missed call and I press the phone button and then I go to the dialer instead of the call log.

So i rooted with Droid Does rom, because i heard its nice and fast and what not. So basically the only problem i have with it is this.
When on a call, the proximity sensor doesnt work, so the screen goes black. And when i press the end call button to turn the screen back on it just ends the call. Is this normal? Or a known issue?
Trying to the do as the title describes with the following code, but it doesn't seem to work. It just does nothing once i have altered the keyCode. Do i have to do something to the event?

View 8 Replies View RelatedFrom the moment I received my HTC Hero from orange several weeks ago I noticed the when I press the back arrow button on the bottom right of the phone its clicks and creaks, dont think its the button itself but its the plastic battery case that makes the sound.
Does anyone else have this problem?
same as with HTC desire, go to settings, accessibility, check power button ends call and you can now instantly end call by pressing the power button instead of waiting for the screen to light up then pressing end call

So I was thinking, is there an app that will allow this? Or can someone make one? I would if I was able to, but I'm not so I'm asking. I guess I can't break the hardware button habit and move the the full touch future.

All of a sudden earlier this week, there is now a speaker button on the botton middle of my phone when it's in a call.It's a plain ugly white button and it sits UNDER the existing "Mute" "Bluetooth" and "Speaker" buttons that are currently there.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo my End Call button no longer locks the phone today. I always hit it because I am trying to squeeze all I can from the battery. I did install the Not Call Log app because I wanted the button to return to Home instead of the default, but I did uninstall it. If I long press the button, it still brings up the menu to Power Off, Airplane mode, etc. It just does not quick lock the phone, which I really like.
More info: The end call button does re-lock the phone (turn off the screen) when it is already locked, but still does nothing when I am sitting on the Home screen (when I really want to lock the thing).
It is difficult to test a game with the mouse pointer on android buttons. I would like to control those buttons with the hardware keyboard. Actually I don't want to control the buttons itself but I want to control the behavior the buttons would also do. For example I have 4 buttons in the android application with "arrow up, down, left, right". I'd like to use the arrow buttons of my hardware keyboard to control the same. How can I do that? Actually the question is, where can I set the Listener? I tried something in my activity.

Before, when I composed a message in the app or using quick compose (long press search button), there would be a drop down list of possible choices when I began typing in the "To:" field. For example, if I typed "k", it would show names beginning with "k". But now the feature is gone and it really sucks when I want to compose a text.
Does anyone else have this issue? Is it Handcent's problem or a software problem (v2.1 bug?), and does anyone know how to fix it?
I just replaced my Motorola Droid. Before when in the middle of a call or to hang up a call i just pull the phone away from my head and the screen would come on... or, i would have to use the power up button on the top of the device then swipe to unlock. Now in the middle of a call the power button is not working nor does the screen illuminate when i pull away from my head.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't remember my DroidX always doing this, but recently after I hang-up from a call it shows the "Call Time XX:XX" in the center of the screen and I can't do anything until it goes away, which is generally 5-8 seconds. Hitting Home, Back, etc does nothing and tapping on the screen or the message also does nothing.Is this a setting I can disable? I can look at the recent calls to get the length of call if I need to see it, so I don't need the dramatic pause to give me this info.

You know those numbers that you dial where you get a voice saying for option "A", press 1, for option "B", press 2, etc.The only way I can seem to bring up the keyboard is by pressing the call button, but then it seems as though android wants to transfer the call to the number I am entering.Does anyone know of a way to enter the number for the call you are on?

I preordered my Incredible online on the evening of 4/20.Up to this point I'm still getting the same order status message as everyone else here. All seems normal and on par with everyone else here.However, I've heard people saying that they show a $1.00 charge on their credit card account or whatever showing that they made the purchase and then that charge will turn full once the phone ships or however Verizon does it. My online Verizon account that this card is attached to isn't showing any trace of a charge from Verizon. Should I be concerned?I purchased mine with my Wells Fargo Visa check debit/credit card. The Verizon site asked for that Visa Verify (or whatever it's called) password to verify my card. I honestly didn't remember that password, but I figured it would be the password that I use for almost everything. I entered that password and the page had a processing icon or whatever and I proceeded to complete my order. I know I've used that Visa Verify before, but I just didn't remember the password.
Based on that info, should my card have been verified on the spot if it allowed me to pass the Visa Verify and complete my order? Or does Verizon do that verification later? Should I be seeing a charge from Verizon in my online Wells Fargo account yet?I just want to make sure something as small as not entering my Visa Verify password is going to make me miss out on this phone on release day.
As the days have gone by, i have started to notice that the power button on my evo might "recessed" more, because it has gotten to the point that the only way i know i press it is because the screen turns on. Reason for an exchange?

Short story is based on some info coming in, the app will display new Activities to the user. To prevent Back button issues, as each Activity hits it's onStop it calls finish on itself. However if the user presses the Home button I do not want the Activity to call finish so that when the user presses the app icon on the home screen or via the Recently run apps list, the last Activity is brought back
I realize the Camera button on the Droid X is not a standard feature across all phones, so, I'm curious how to attach a callback to it. I have a camera application that I wrote and I want the user to be able to snap the picture by pressing that button, but currently it doesn't work that way, so, I'm wondering how to attach my callback to it.
