Motorola CLIQ :: End Call Button Not Working / Screen Has Gone Black

I'm having trouble with one thing on the Cliq - hanging up calls. Since the end call button is on the screen, 2 things keep happening:
- I hang up on someone by mistake, because my cheek touches the button while I'm talking
- By the time I am done talking, the screen has gone black, so I have to hit the menu button to turn the screen back on.. but that takes me back to the home screen, so I have to navigate through to get back to my call and hang up!
Is there some sort of setting or app that could change the end call button to a hard key, like the back button, so we can hang up that way? It would be a tremendous help!

I just replaced my Motorola Droid. Before when in the middle of a call or to hang up a call i just pull the phone away from my head and the screen would come on... or, i would have to use the power up button on the top of the device then swipe to unlock. Now in the middle of a call the power button is not working nor does the screen illuminate when i pull away from my head.

I wrote a TV Guide for the UK/Ireland market. Everything was ok until one of the people that downloaded it reported to me that the custom button I wrote wasnt actually working on his Cliq. I cant get back in touch with that user, so I cannot troubleshoot the problem. Could any of you Cliq users test the app and maybe send me a logcat?
Unfortunately I dont have a Cliq, nor have access to one.. any of you developers have noticed a similar behavior with your custom buttons? The app was tested on Magic/Hero/Tattoo.

When I am talking on my Droid, the screen often goes black and I can only see the screen options by tilting the phone. Even then, I cannot consistently see the call options. Also, when trying to multi-task, the unlock screen pops up and I am not always able to perform multiple tasks because as soon as I perform the unlock motion it goes right back to the lock screen. Suggestions?

Ive noticed when I put the Droid to my ear to make a phone call... the screen goes black... then it takes a couple seconds when i pull it away for the screen to re-appear.... How do I stop that from happening?

this morning when I wake up I realized that:
- home button is not working
- call button is not working unless you're into the contacts application (doesn't work from home page)
- Astrid application has lost all of the TODO tasks.
- It doesn't asks for the unlock graphical code!
It lost all of its battery yesterday night while surfing on the browser. My phone is an HTC MAgic Vodafone, using Android 1.6 Any ideas on how should i proceed? I soft reset the phone already.

Since the update, I don't have an emergency call button on my lock screen. I don't remember one being there before either. The manual talks about one being there, and I've seen posts about it. Is this an option to turn on?

Sometimes when I hit the screen/power button the screen will stay black and i can see the menu bar up top fine but all else is black. If I hit the home key then all lights up fine. Then sometimes Ill hit the button and it works fine.

When i fire up my youtube app, i get a quick black screen flash and it goes back to home screen. The app doesnt launch at all. It was working just fine for several months, all of a sudden it started doing this.

1) After I make a call, the screen goes black in a matter of seconds. I'm typically using a headset when I notice this. To end the call (or enter numbers in a call menu) I need to press the sleep button to get the screen to light up again. This is a pain in the a$$.I have the screen timeout set for 2 mins.
2) About once or twice a day the home screen will lock where I can't press anything. I need to reboot to fix.

There have been some complaints floating around that the Emergency Call on the lock screen is not working. You click it and the screen just goes blank, anybody else seeing this. They better fix this fast, or there could be a potential Lawsuit in the making.

So when you normally make a call and the screen turns black when you put the phone next to your face. When you pull it away from your face the screen is supposed to come back on. My Ally's screen refuses to light back up. If I slide the keyboard out before the call ends the screen will come back on. If the call ends before I do that I have a black/dead screen for a random amount of time. This happened on stock rom and Velocity.

I have a problem with the new HTC Desire HD.
When I make a call the screen goes blank, but I cannot get it back again, even if I press the button on the top of the phone. None of the other touch button function either meaning the only way to finish a call is to pull the battery out!

HTC Evo was working fine, started noticing screen flickering but phone continued to work fine. Updated to froyo 2.2 and did sprint updates, phone still worked fine, then next day in the middle of playing with phone screen flickered and went black. Tried removing battery and rebooting several times but no luck. Left battery out overnight and tried again in the morning white htc screen appeared and then flickered out to black. did a hard reset, with the screen still black and still nothing. I've gone back to my phone after it has set for hours untouched and press the power button I can see the lock screen but it too goes away after a second or two. Phone is functioning lights at the bottom of the phone are lit and respond when I press them just no visible image. I don't have the insurance so I'll have to pay for all the fixes myself and I've had it since August so there is no returning it to the store. I've searched the web and I haven't seen a solution to what the problem could be is it the LCD screen or the motherboard. I'm ordering another screen but I'd hate to find out it is something else.

I just got a new HTC Evo and when I use the youtube app it just goes to a black screen like it is loading but doesn't do anything, but if I go to the browser and go to youtube it works. I can't use any of the soft keys at the bottom, I have to make the phone go to sleep then open it again. I was wondering if it just takes long to load or if the app is broken, I am only in a 3g area but I wouldn't think that that would affect it. It shows my notification bar but doest let me access it

So i rooted with Droid Does rom, because i heard its nice and fast and what not. So basically the only problem i have with it is this.
When on a call, the proximity sensor doesnt work, so the screen goes black. And when i press the end call button to turn the screen back on it just ends the call. Is this normal? Or a known issue?

I have a bit of an issue where the screen fades to black (almost immediately) whilst I'm on a call - either handheld or using bluetooth, and its a wee bit annoying!?!?
Oftentimes I need to access either the keypad (ie. for deleting answerphone messages etc) or calendar etc whilst on a call and its basically locks and I have to slide down and do my unlock code to get access?
Is there any way to stop this and force the phone to just show the call screen throughout any call?

Just got a new case for my Desire off eBay. When I have the Desire all the way inserted in the case and try to call a number, the screen goes BLACK. Yet the call can still be heard going through. I am NOT able to get it back no matter what button I press. Not even with POWER OFF for several seconds! Yet... if I push the phone up half an inch (see pic), the screen goes back every time and the buttons work. Did I mention that the screen is fine when the phone is fully inserted in the case, it only goes black when I make a call using the dialer?
I checked and none of the buttons seem to be depressed when the phone is in the case. Even if they were, it should not cause the screen to lock up like that in black, and the buttons as well.

I have an issue since i start installing custom ROMS. So, is not my first time installing a ROM. I have installed stock ROM's in the past. However, not custom ones. I have rooted my device in the past and even now before installing a custom ROM. I have installed through TWRP recovery various custom ROMS such as Omega, AOSP, ARROW, WanamLite, Google Edition and CyanogenMod but none of them worked fine for me.
In some ROMS I might not have reception (don't worry the IMEI is the same and backed up). However, in EVERY ROM my dialler crashes; for example, when im trying to make a call it freezes and the screen goes black without seeing anything. On the other hand, when I receive a call, screen takes ages to appear and show the caller or even accept the call. In addition, I have NO SOUND at all in every ROM as well.
I believe that the kernel might be the problem. This is because when i am booting the phone I always see the following:
I have tried clearing cache, dalvik, removing battery, installing stock ROMS etc.... and nothing changed!

I am running modaco 3.2 core custom rom ssh seems pretty good very little lag but cant help thinking that something is wrong as titanium back up, wireless teather and super user permision don't work they all load and then the screen goes black and says su request in the corner before saying activity su request(in application superuser permissions)is not responding, force close. i rooted and also started using gde home mod got to say it is pretty good although i had to pay for it but has a good replacement for sence only trouble is widgets don't seem to work or just aren't there except for clock,conversation, any of you experiencing this problem?is there something similar but better that widgets do work. what is the best firmware/rom upgrade e.g 1.6-1.8 or 2.1. Has anyone got these working well on the hero. Is there a big delay when waiting for a alert after you receive a message or is it just my hero?

Getting emails, texts, and other notifications (especially the vibrations) while I am on a call is driving me nuts. Where can I turn this feature off? I don't want to turn off notifications and vibration completely; I just want the phone to realize I am busy talking to someone and don't need the sounds and vibrations distracting both parties on the call.
Am I the only one this happens to? I keep searching for others with this problem, but haven't had much luck. Is it an Android issue? 1.5 or 2.0?
A Cliq feature bug?

first of all let me just say that beta2 is superb i just have one problem with it whenever i'm in a call (reciving or dialing) the screen goes blank and i cant wake up the phone not the end call button and not the open (side) button the only ways i can wake it up is by getting another call or rebooting
any way to work around it? i have tryed several screen on pogs from the market but no luck there without it i would use it everyday, its much much better then galaxo.

Doing a search for an attempt to find some help. The alarm on my cliq is driving me crazy as it does not work sometimes EVEN after I unchecked and re-check it. My cliq (i really wish moto gave it a different name) is not rooted, but is there a way to find out what could be causing it to hang?

I did quite a bit of searching the web for a solution to my problem with the HTC Incredible. Surely I cannot be the only one with the problem? I answer a call, I'm holding it talking, and the screen turns on then turns off, turns on, then turns off, speaker phone on, I have to click it off, mute on, I have to press it off. etc, I know its just the heat from my cheek from talking, but it goes right through the lock button. What is the point of locking the phone if on a call so this stuff wont happen when your touch (my cheek in this case) just goes right through the lock. I have tried in vain to find an app that could fix this perhaps, but most are just for answering the call or dialing a call, or something to that effect. Any info on how to keep the phone locked when I press the lock button would be appreciated. I love the phone but I am using another phone to make calls because I cant use the Incredible to talk. I don't feel I should have to keep turning off the mute or speaker phone or locking the phone to turn the screen off every two or three seconds.

Does anyone have Visual Voicemail working on their Cliq? I received a new Cliq a week ago aand only just tried Visual Voicemail yesterday.
The app (which was pre-installed on my phone) is call "Voicemails" but just shows empty when there are definitely voicemails waiting and I even have the voicemail logo in the upper left corner of the Cliq notification bar?
