When I use the speaker function on calls, the other callers cannot hear me clearly.I tested it myself with another phone, and I barely hear anything from the other phone.So there is either something wrong with my speaker/mic or the phone?Anybody else having this trouble? Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

I've been running this phone fine now for 6 months or so. All of a sudden earlier this week, there is now a speaker button on the botton middle of my phone when it's in a call.It's a plain ugly white button and it sits UNDER the existing "Mute" "Bluetooth" and "Speaker" buttons that are currently there.

My wife has been having some problems where she would hold the phone to her ear with her shoulder and she will accidentally mute her call, or some times put the call on speaker phone. View 8 Replies View RelatedThe voice call speaker on my Legend has become extremely unpleasant to use for calls. I can only describe the output as scratchy, buzzy or raspy. At first I had hoped it was a reception issue, but since the headset provided works with perfect clarity during a call, I am sure it must be a hardware issue. This issue started 2 months after I bought the phone.I contacted the nearest Bell store (Canadian mobile provider), and described the problem. I was told that 3 other similar cases with the HTC Legend had been received that the representative had heard of.Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? If you sent it away to be fixed, was the problem corrected with no further difficulties?I'm hesitant to pay for the shipping and repair costs if this is a persistent problem or hardware malfunction that is prone to happen time after time.

Is it just that; there's a certain frequency and it matches that of my speaker? Or is it a hardware(?) problem?

Anything over two notches from muted gives me a wierd vibrating noise when the other end is talking semi high pitched and consistently. It sounds almost robotic or like paper. I didnt know if this was just my phone, the majority, or all epics suffer from this problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy phone started exhibiting some strange behavior today regarding sound and mic - neither are working (most of the time). If I am receiving a call, the phone will sound the ring, but when I answer it the speaker and mic go dead. If I hit the volume button while the phone is ringing, the speaker also goes dead. When I try to play music, no sound is produced (although if I plug in headphones I find that it is playing). The problem persists after multiple reboots and the Samsung "song" does play during boot. I'm not sure exactly when this started as it was working fine yesterday.

No HTC care or something is present in my city. I am able to use my phone with headphone mic. My phone need to do this:
Headphone mic for voice input.
BUT outputs call sound through phone speaker or sound box.
I only need it during phone calls but all time is okay too.

Version of the now low end phone HTC Aria.
It has a room choice of cyanogenmod 6 and 7.2 official, cm9,10 custom ported.
I Installed speaker on when in car kit. WTF the car kit blocks the speaker, so the volume sucks. Do you have to drill holes in the damn thing, or is there a way to increase speaker volume when in car kit?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't know how many others are having this problem, but I hit the mute and/or speaker button frequently while on a call. Is there any way to remove these buttons from the dial screen? The proximity sensor "works" but not in the sense that it works on the iphone. The screen takes several seconds to dim and then can pop on at any time during the call allowing these buttons to pressed with my cheek. Many many times, the speaker has been activated in an environment where it should not be. Are there any apps to prevent this, or do I have a bad proximity sensor? Does the fact that I hold the phone on the left side of my face effect this at all? (most people hold on the right) The last time I tried other advice of pressing home button, the phone has opened a self service apps and was about to start programming itself by the time I got off the phone.

View 22 Replies View RelatedMy headset speaker (non-speaker phone) has a buzz to it when the in-call volume is all the way up, or one notch away from full. If I call voice mail, any automated line, or anybody speaks loudly the words are distorted by the speaker buzz. I'm not sure how else to describe it other than distortion/speaker issue. Does anybody else have their in-call volume all the way up that could confirm whether this is happening on theirs? My wife has the incredible and when I compare on her voicemail full in-call volume, it is perfect. I'm thinking about exchanging at Best Buy, but wan't to make sure its not common before I do. Would hate to go through the trouble if they all make this buzz/distortion.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe speaker on the back has a support beneath it (where the speaker(s) would be), except in one area. Off center to the right there is a hollow area where it can be dented, which I found out the hard way. I just happened to look at it and notice this defect. Having never dropped mine, I have no idea what could have caused this other than something pressing on it in my pocket. Upon further inspection I found out that this area is in fact pliable, due to the lack of support behind it.Will be dropping by VZW on monday. Since I'm within my 30 days until jan. 3rd, I hope they replace it for me. It would really suck to have to pay my $89 deductible (or whatever it is) just for this, but I can't be showing off my Droid with a dented speaker

But when I cup the back of the phone with my right hand, the volume is increased, possibly because the sound bounces off my hand.

View 9 Replies View Relatedjust received my X about two weeks ago. I love it. It is way better than my old BB Storm. So far I have only found one issue that I can't seem to resolve. It seems that from time to time my external speaker just stops working for media files. The ringer will still work as will any alerts, but if I try to play a YouTube file there is no sound. A reboot of the unit will fix this, but I am wondering if this is a know glitch or if I might have an app that is causing this. I tried searching for this topic but the only thing that comes up is a thousand threads complaining about the sound level.
