just got my first android device today (the droid) and I wanted to ask you guys, does the gmail app receive emailes via push? I've sent a coupl of emails to my device, and they wont pop up in the gmail app unless i refresh it.

I haven't messed with my settings on my phone about data delivery. Somehow my gmail wont push my mail through, i have to manually refresh it.
Background data is on
Data Roaming is off
Data enabled is on
All my accounts are synced
Notification is on.
I did a reboot just to see and it still didnt fix. is there anyway to fix this?
Not sure why but yesterday, my gmail stopped pushing through. If I hit refresh it will come through. Any ideas as to why this has happened?

I would receive alerts to new gmails instantly before MR2, and now I'm lucky if I even get them at all without going into the app and hitting refresh. I checked all my settings and it does appear to be set to automatically sync.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo My evo has been running pretty damn good. Then this evening I realized that I have not received any e-mails pushed to my gmail app on my phone. So I just figured nobody e-mailed me today, which is weird. So I just went to my gmail account on my laptop and I have 14 unread e-mails that were sent to my gmail account today. So I went to my gmail app on my phone and clicked refresh and the e-mails did not show up on my phone. Its like its not even recognizing my gmail. Any help. I powered down and turned it back up and still nothing. Usually powering down then back up helps little issues like this. what gives.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that when I'm not on wifi, my gmail is no longer pushing to my phone, but will delivery whenever I wake the phone up. I never had this problem before with gmail even with "Always On Mobile Data" disabled, but now it seems like the as soon as the 3G radio goes to sleep, I don't get anything until it wakes back up. Any one else having this problem with the latest version of the gmail.app?

View 15 Replies View RelatedThis is driving me nuts because I had the hero and swapped it out to the Moment and it did the same thing. I am using the Gmail app and whenever I get new mail I have to go into the ALL MAIL label to see it even though the mail has a Inbox tag on it. By doing this I don't get any notifications of new mail and must check it manually. I've tried clearing out Gmail app and Gmail storage but it will only sync once and stop again. So anyone having the same problem? Gmail not pushing mail into the in-box? I posted on Google help forums but so far people only told me to clear data of the applications.

I have to physically go in and check it, I am a former blackberry user, and if youve owned a blackberry you know how convenient the email push is! I have the timer set to 5 mins and it is not receiving them unless i manually go in.

I haven't tried it and make no claims to its greatness.Gmail Notifier.It lets you change the color of the LED, vibration length, and gives repeat notifications. It also works for multiple gmail accounts I believe.

For instance contact #1 has a gmail account I can see the picture that they update on their gmail account and statuses but contact #2 doesn't show anything from there gmail account. View 4 Replies View RelatedMy gmail account on the DX is not updating properly.I had 5 emails this morning.I read them and deleted them, plus deleted a few older emails. The phone looks normal like they were deleted. Later I restarted and the phone said I had 5 more emails...and they were the exact same ones I deleted in the morning.So I deleted again and then logged into gmail...they were still in gmail as unread. All worked fine for a few days but now I notice that I get no notification of any type for new mail unless I manually press the sync button.I thought that the gmail was a push like SMS and as soon as new mail arrives it notifies me (yes notifications are on).I just tested it by sending an email from my work address to gmail. Nothing on the phone but it does show if I log in via a regular computer.
