General :: Pushing Files Via ADB From One Android Device To Another

Jun 23, 2013

As long as I have the requisite SDK files and a terminal on an Android device, or if I'm doing this programmatically in an app I'd develop, can I use adb to push a file from one device to another that's connected via USB? The devices will be a Nexus 4 and probably a Nexus 7. The N7 would be the sender, fwiw. I'm hoping that it's not required that the device executing the adb push commands be a computer as opposed to a mobile device.

I'm assuming that I can find a cable that's micro USB (if that's what it's called) at both ends to connect the two devices.

Is it possible to do the same thing via a Bluetooth connection? Or can adb only recognize a device connected via USB?

Motorola Droid :: @ Email Account Not Pulling POP Mail

Nov 14, 2009

I use the @ email account to pull my work email (ghetto bizmail through yahoo). The gmail app works great for my gmail and the 3 accounts I access through it for personal email. The other email account will go hours without checking and unless I open it and refresh it won't get them at all. I have it set to check every 5 min.

I am wondering if it has something to do with advanced task killer? I have added "email" to the ignore list but I am not sure if that will do the trick.

Motorola Droid :: Mail Notification - Why Pulling Back Old Email

Nov 18, 2009

I have a question regarding the mail feature of the Droid. I have three accounts setup. One Gmail, one Yahoo and one Hotmail (yep...I like all flavors).

I can send and receive mail without issue but for some reason with the Yahoo and the Hotmail account, the Droid will seem to pull "old" email back onto the device and mark it as new and light up the indicator. This gives then shows that I have new mail but it really isn't new but it is old, previously read email that has been deleted and pulled back onto the device.

Android :: Testing Applications On Device

Feb 11, 2010

I'm trying to make my application (compiled against 2.1) compatible with the 1.5 platform. I've handled all of the res/ folder issues, and have been able to run the app on all platforms without problems. I can run it fine on all emulators, and all devices/OS systems running 1.6 or higher. But on the only 1.5 device I have (HTC Hero), I get intermittent problems.

The only 1.5 device I have is an HTC Hero phone I got free at the Sprint developer conference a few months ago. When I test the app on that device, I have occasionally encountered a bug I've not seen anywhere, and can't find any information about.

I can install the application via the adb install command (although I get two messages about unknown commands), but after installing the app, the icon can disappear from the home screen, replaced either with a different icon or no icon.

When the app is launched in this state, rather than seeing my application name in the title bar, it reads "60.0dip". I don't use this value anywhere in my application.

I have never observed this problem on any other phone I've tested on (G1, myTouch, two Motorola Droids, Nexus One), but as I said I've only got one device running 1.5.

It doesn't delete existing apps

It doesn't require rooting.

I realise there are a few threads about this, but I thought I would make a new one for my easier guide, and hopefully people will find it more easily as they won't have to scroll through pages of other threads to find an answer. I am now successfully running most apps from my SD Card now. I just thought I would make an easier guide as the others are fairly complex for noobs like me............
