The update reset the sync option on my gmail account. However, after resetting the sync option it is taking forever to receive an email, like 8-10 minutes where before the update it happened almost instantly.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI did the manual update to 2.0.1 this morning and just now realized that I wasn't getting any incoming email notifications for Gmail. I sent myself a test message from another account and it did not show up on my droid. i went into accounts and manually synced it and now all is well. So, if you notice this issue after the update, just manually sync your accounts and see if that solves it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just updated to version 2.1 and noticed my push Gmail wasnt working. I then went into the Google Mail application and can see its not showing any emails in the inbox and its not downloading any mail in "All items" either. Its only showing emails prior to the update. If I hit refresh it spins for a few moments and I see the data arrows indicate transfer but it doesnt refresh the inbox.

For instance contact #1 has a gmail account I can see the picture that they update on their gmail account and statuses but contact #2 doesn't show anything from there gmail account. Does anyone know how to get this to work so I can compose a new email on my Droid to send to the group?I do not have this Group set up under my contacts, but it is a group created in Gmail.

I have to hit the menu / sync button every time I want to see if I have new emails. . . before the would come in and I would get a notification within seconds.
Gmail App / Menu / Settings / Email notifications/ is checked ON.
I don't know what to do. . .wish i never did the update.
When I load gmail in the android browser, at the top it says "Faster Gmail available! Update now" I click on "Update now" and it goes through an install of something. Anyway, after the install the "Faster Gmail available! Update now" is still there. It will NOT go away!!!
A popup also says to change settings of the new stuff it installs go to settings->gears settings. When I click on "gears settings" in the settings menu, nothing happens I cant open the settings. I think my gears install is f-ed up and unfortunately I dont think I can uninstall and reinstall the stock browser and Id rather not do a factory reset.

In the store I was asked if I had a GMail account, I thought I did, but wasn't sure so I created a new one. Well it turns out that I DID have an existing gmail account and want to use that one (the email address is the same as my yahoo prefix and it would be an easier transition for everyone). How do I now link my Droid phone to my pre-existing gmail? Do I have to reset it to factory settings and then start fresh?

It never updates by itself. I went to settings> data manager> data delivery and "email and corporate sync is a darker color and I can not click it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy gmail account on the DX is not updating properly.I had 5 emails this morning.I read them and deleted them, plus deleted a few older emails. The phone looks normal like they were deleted. Later I restarted and the phone said I had 5 more emails...and they were the exact same ones I deleted in the morning.So I deleted again and then logged into gmail...they were still in gmail as unread. Seems like I don't have communication back to gmail. Is this a phone issue or are others experiencing this - maybe it's a gmail problem?

All worked fine for a few days but now I notice that I get no notification of any type for new mail unless I manually press the sync button.I thought that the gmail was a push like SMS and as soon as new mail arrives it notifies me (yes notifications are on).I just tested it by sending an email from my work address to gmail. Nothing on the phone but it does show if I log in via a regular computer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI can't take this stupid gmail sync issue anymore. I have been browsing web for the last 2 days and have tried everything short of throwing my phone against the wall. My MacbookPro will get the gmail and it will literally take an hour or so to get the mail on Droid (unless i refresh it myself). Isn't this a GOOGLE phone??? Of all the things gmail should be a breeze on this phone. I had a blackberry prior to Droid and email on Blackberry was never a problem. Infact I used to brag about how quick it was. Anyways I have been going through different forums and lots of people are having this similar problem. I hope we get a fix soon as this seems to be a software problem.
