I've noticed that when I'm not on wifi, my gmail is no longer pushing to my phone, but will delivery whenever I wake the phone up. I never had this problem before with gmail even with "Always On Mobile Data" disabled, but now it seems like the as soon as the 3G radio goes to sleep, I don't get anything until it wakes back up. Any one else having this problem with the latest version of the gmail.app?

Has anyone else experienced this since MR2? I would receive alerts to new gmails instantly before MR2, and now I'm lucky if I even get them at all without going into the app and hitting refresh. I checked all my settings and it does appear to be set to automatically sync.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo My evo has been running pretty damn good. Then this evening I realized that I have not received any e-mails pushed to my gmail app on my phone. So I just figured nobody e-mailed me today, which is weird. So I just went to my gmail account on my laptop and I have 14 unread e-mails that were sent to my gmail account today. So I went to my gmail app on my phone and clicked refresh and the e-mails did not show up on my phone. Its like its not even recognizing my gmail. Any help. I powered down and turned it back up and still nothing. Usually powering down then back up helps little issues like this. what gives.

I did a reboot just to see and it still didnt fix. is there anyway to fix this?
Well this happened once before shortly after MR2, but it was short-lived, now, once again, no many how many times I soft-reset, check my settings, manually retrieve, whatever, my gmail does not appear to push.

View 15 Replies View RelatedThis is driving me nuts because I had the hero and swapped it out to the Moment and it did the same thing. I am using the Gmail app and whenever I get new mail I have to go into the ALL MAIL label to see it even though the mail has a Inbox tag on it. By doing this I don't get any notifications of new mail and must check it manually. I've tried clearing out Gmail app and Gmail storage but it will only sync once and stop again. So anyone having the same problem? Gmail not pushing mail into the in-box? I posted on Google help forums but so far people only told me to clear data of the applications.

View 13 Replies View RelatedYesterday I noticed that my emails from my phone were not getting sent.Today I noticed I had a bunch in my outbox that said sending.I have the sync turned on and all my other Google apps sync (Calendar, Picasa, Contacts) but gmail never updates.I can't force it to send and receive either.And I can't remove my account to set it up again without doing a factory reset.Any ideas why just my gmail is not syncing anymore?BTW I tried to uncheck all sync options turn off phone and back on then check them again without any luck.

I then went into the Google Mail application and can see its not showing any emails in the inbox and its not downloading any mail in "All items" either. Its only showing emails prior to the update. If I hit refresh it spins for a few moments and I see the data arrows indicate transfer but it doesnt refresh the inbox.

However, the gmail calendar and mail were not affected. I uninstalled all of the Companionlink stuff but the contacts still do not sync. Anyone know how I can get the contacts to sync via gmail again? Short of "reset user data on phone"?

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently as in the past few days I have noticed that new emails aren't giving me the status update/green flashing light as SMS messages are. The only thing I've done recently is re-flashed with the BA20 update and did a restore from Titanium backup of my apps and system info. I am getting mail, but no indicator. I have the account set to check every 5 mins and send and indication.
I sent a test email to my account and went into settings, data sync and synced gmail and the the indicator worked as it immediately found my new test email. I've received several emails in the past few days though with no indication. Any thoughts?
When ever I wake my phone by pushing the home screen (to the slider screen) I noticed there is a red or green line across the screen.

im not an expert on how push email works, but my understanding is that gmail messages should appear on my phone without me having to refresh or manually sync the gmail app. for a reason unknown to me, sometimes this works and sometimes it doesnt. at night, i shut down wifi and the mobile network to conserve battery and start up the mobile network when i leave for work in the morning. i get notification of new yahoo email, thru the htc widget, almost instantaneously, yet gmail doesnt come thru until i manually sync the gmail app. then during the course of the day, sometimes gmail messages get pushed right thru and other times not at all until i manually sync the app. meanwhile my yahoo mail comes thru flawlessly.
considering gmail is supposed to push and the htc widget does not, this is the opposite of what i expect. as far as settings, i have auto sync enabled for both the device and for the gmail app. while i always assume user error until proven otherwise, in this instance i think i have all the correct settings, which makes sense considering sometimes gmail does get pushed. its just erratic and unpredictable. anybody got any ideas what's going on here?
why my S4 is deleting all my contacts from it. I have my contacts synced with my gmail contacts and this has been the case for years. I had a Samsung Infuse before this and have never had a problem. I've had the S4 for about 3 weeks now and this hasn't happened until yesterday. And since yesterday it has happened 3x's. At first I thought it was a Trulia app (realestate app) that I was using to try to call some realtors. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence but the first 2 times I was on the app and my contacts disappeared. How I recovered them was through the contacts recovery feature on Gmail. I would be SOL if I were out and needed to call someone on my contacts list immediately and without access to my laptop.

I've tried to do it a few times, but it just says "sending" for longer than 10 minutes. It even sort of crashes my phone by hogging all the data and not letting me surf the internet or sync with Remember the Milk and other data reliant apps.I hate this Sprint Hero, by the way (unrooted, running OS 2.1). It's a genuine POS.It's so laggy (takes literally 10 F'n seconds to call someone after I dial the number).I've honestly almost smashed it on the ground twice it's so laggy.When I'm in a hurry, I can't stand it's lagginess.It's amazing to me this phone was released to the public with such an egregious lag time on almost everything I do (most noticeably the phone, which is simple compared to other apps).

It's basically missing one conversation of (12) emails.I then checked using a desktop client and also installed K-9 on the phone and they both matched what was on Gmail online complete with the missing conversation. However, Gmail on my phone is missing the whole conversation, but has everything else. Any idea's why it'll just miss this one conversation? When I complete a search in Gmail on the phone for content from the conversation, it finds it, but it's just not in my Inbox?

View 4 Replies View RelatedGood Evening, I doing a bit of surfing this morning with the Desire and put it in down for a few hours and when I cam back to it about 4 hours later I found the battery was dead.. After charging it up and turning it back on all it will do is show the white screen with green HTC letters before rebooting again.
Very frustrating as I have just got this one setup the way I like it since being replaced. I can not even say why it has happened, I use no task killers and the only app ran was the internet via wifi.
I have called Orange and they will send a new one out tomorrow to replace it, so good for the customer services but this is my second faulty desire.
I tried loading the phone with the volume down button pressed and using fastboot / recovery but no joy there.
Before it goes back tomorrow I really want to reset the phone to factory defaults as all my data will remain in the phone and I do not trust any 3rd party to clear it down.
Does anyone know what I can do to clear the data please?
