So, I am having issues syncing exchange like I noticed some others as well. I am using a hosted exchange service, I don't think it really matters so much but they say it should work. They even tell you how to do it.
The issue I have though is I can send messages, my calendar syncs, but for some reason not my inbox. Has anyone else come across this?

New mail is ending up in the all mail folder not sure how to fix this so mail is pushed to my inbox and I get new mail notifications.

I can create an account without error, but there is no folders and blank inbox. I get no errors. Any ideas? Anything special with Exchange 2010? This is the first 2010 that I have tried to sync my phone to.
View 8 Replies View Relatedi just got the Eris a couple days ago, and love it with a few exceptions. I've been searching and searching for an answer to this, and i cant seem to find it. When I activated my phone at the VZW store, I synced it with my gmail account. When I opened my inbox on my phone, I was surprised to see emails that i had deleted some time ago (using a computer). It synced over 2000 messages from my inbox. My first question is WHY?!? and is there a way to 'undo' that madness, and erase them all short of having to check every message's box and delete them?Also, why when I delete a message it doesn't get deleted right away? I usually have to close out the app then reopen it and it'll be gone. Also, why when I delete a message does it still appear when I check gmail on my computer? if I delete it from the inbox using my computer/phone, shouldn't it not still be on the other device?

It works fine, can send and receive emails, calendar, etc. The only problem is it doesn't automatically update the inbox when a new email comes in. I went under Settings > Send & Receive > Set download frequency. It is set to "Manual". I change it to "As items arrive" and then exit out. Go back in and its back to "Manual".
View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed b-folders (a password manager) and it allows for a wireless sync between the DI and desktop, so i connected to the wireless network at work for the first time for the sync.Everything went well, except I stopped getting push mail from Exchange.I remembered a thread about Exchange not syncing over a wireless connection, so I turned off the wireless.My other e-mail accounts work fine, as do syncing calendar and contacts for exchange (both ways).I can send mail from the DI on the Exchange account, but I get no mail on the phone from the Exchange account.I have removed the battery, resaved the account information for the Exchange account, but still no mail received on the phone.I am at my wits end trying to figure this out.the problem seems only to effect incoming mail from the Exchange server on the phone, all the other info from the server comes through fine (even 5 minute alarms for upcoming appointments).Any ideas from the cloud?

I can send and receive email through Exchange and I can see emails in my Inbox, the problem is I never keep any emails in my inbox, they always go into separate folders and those ones I can't see. I can see and switch to the different folders but there appears to be nothing in them.
I'm using Samsung Email simply because it came on the phone and seems to be able to do gmail, hotmail and exchange all in one.
Android 2.1, unrooted. Anyone come across this issue or have any ideas?
I was wondering if anyone is having difficulty with Touchdown or the native mail app in syncing with their work email through microsoft exchange. For some reason older mail disappears in both the native mail app and touchdown. Sometimes I would see an older email I kept and then it disappears. I have set it up so that email only gets deleted from our servers when I say so. I'm also running 2.2 Froyo. Also in the native mail app, I have deleted an email but it comes back, it never gets deleted. A little frustrating to say the least.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI ran into this with my corporate e-mail this week on a Google I/O Evo. The setup of my exchange account was painless. Just need to plug-in my e-mail, password and a device password. Exchange syncing works fine until you turn off your phone. When you power the phone back on, it boots up to the point where the Sprint intro video plays. At that point, according to Sprint tech support, the Exchange syncing hits a snag and causes the phone to restart indefinitely playing that same loud, annoying intro video over and over. The only workaround was to open up the bootloader (power+volume down on power up) and erase all my data. I went through a simple setup and a simple setup + exchange again to confirm that it was indeed the Exchange account that introduced the problem.

I did a soft reset, nothing. Hard reset, nothing. All the setting are the same. It just continuously tries to sync, but never connects. Will I have to set up the account again or what ?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue with my HTC Evo 3D where I am unable to have more than one active Exchange Activesync (EAS) account syncing. I'm trying to have my work e-mail and my hotmail account with push using EAS. What I have tried:
- Setting up my work e-mail, then my hotmail. Can receive work e-mails instantly, but not with hotmail.
- Setting up my hotmail, then my work e-mail. Can receive hotmail e-mails instantly, but not with my work e-mail.
- Setting up my work e-mail in one mail client, and my hotmail in a separate client. Same issues as above, one receiving push e-mail and the other not.
If I set up one and then the other in the default HTC mail client, the first one will work with push the but second one won't. BUT, if I then do a manual sync to make the second one "catch up", that second one will start receiving with push but the first one no longer does. I can keep doing this, and it seems like only one can be "active" at a time.
I've tried different clients with the same results, and tried Touchdown which many people recommend, but Touchdown is built to allow only one active profile at a time (so only one EAS account pushing or polling).
I'm beginning to think it's a device limitation on the Evo 3D but it would be great to get around that - I've seen bits and pieces around saying that, due to licencing, iPhones can have up to 5 EAS accounts at a time, and different Android phones can have varying numbers, but haven't seen anything particularly clear or definitive.
Here's what i'm doing :
1) Desktop PC (Outlook 2010) <> USB MyPhoneExplorer <> Phone (ICS SGS2)
This creates contacts on my phone under the "phone" category.
2) Hosted Exchange <> Wireless Activesync <> Phone
This creates contacts on my phone under the "exchange" category.
As the contacts are exactly the same, the contacts are automatically merged and i have 2 separate categories of contacts that display as 1 list which is what i'm looking for.
3) When I resync, all of my exchange contacts are deleted (both on the phone and server) which is not what I want.
Is it possible to have a single set of contacts that I can sync across my desktop PC, phone and exchange server ?
I'm new to Android, having moved from Nokia this last week. I've added my email accounts - Gmail & Exchange, but now I've got 3 calendars. I know they all display on my mobile, and I get alerts for them all, but I'd ideally like my phone to sync all the calendars with eachother. So when I look on Outlook, I see my phone and Google calendar, and when I look on Gmail, I see my Outlook and Phone calendars etc. This would seem to be a fairly simple thing to do - just to 'link' the calendars in a similar way to linking the phone/Google/Facebook contacts. Any way to do this without involving any PC apps etc.?

When I enter a calendar or contact on the phone it does not go to the computer.
Under setting and accounts and sync the exhange account is set and "sync is on"
I have recently gone up from Fresh 1.1 to Fresh 2.0d. Everything is working great, but for some reason Exchange items are not showing up in the calendar. The exchange calendar is selected in the calendar selection option. Items added to the phone calendar as exchange items are synced to my Outlook/Exchange calendar, so there is some communication going on. However, my calendar stubbornly refuses to display the Exchange items.
Anyone know why this might be? I can't figure it out...
I have recently purchased sony xperia X10 (android operating system). I want to get it sync with Microsoft Exchange 2007. I got the problem doing so.I have entered the mail id, password and server address but the error message taping on screen is "please provide detailed server information.(0)" sometime "please provide detailed server information" I was using windows phone earlier and it was working fine, but it is not getting activated on moxier sync or android. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S3 that uses MS Exchange to sync my email, calendar, tasks, and contacts through my Office365 account. Everything has worked great for months. A few days ago, I noticed that contacts I had been adding to Outlook on my PC were not showing up on my phone. After checking all of the basic stuff (contacts to display set correctly, sync turned on, auto-sync checked, etc.), I discovered that the Contacts had not synced since mid-January (date/time stamp under Settings/Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync/Settings/More Settings). All "sync" boxes are checked, and the Calendar, Email, Tasks, and Text Messages are all syncing, with current date and time stamps. For some reason, even though the Contacts sync box is also checked, Contacts have not updated since January.
I have tried unchecking boxes, restarting phone, removing and reinstalling account, and everything else I could find on these forums. But nothing works. After re-installing the account on the phone, the Contacts "sync" box is checked, but there is no date/time stamp at all. If I look on Settings/Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync/Accounts, the Sync Contacts box is checked, and it shows a current date/time stamp. But the contacts are not syncing, and no contacts show up on the phone for this exchange account. The contacts are making it from my PC to Office365, as those contacts do show up in the web based Office365 contact list. But the contacts are not making it from there to my phone.
I am spending the afternoon trying to create a temporary work-around, but I run my own consulting business, and having access to my contacts is critical.
Whenever I go into Gmail (I do not have push notification on, just check it every once in a while) it will say at the top "Inbox (2)", but then says "No Conversations" in the middle of the screen where it is supposed to list all the emails in my Inbox. I know that there are two in there because they are there whenever I check Gmail on my computer.I looked for an option in the Gmail settings in case it only shows unread mail, but can't find anything.If I navigate to a different label, it will show all the emails in them, just not the Inbox.It started out OK, but I just noticed it a day or so ago doing this.My father was messing around with my phone the other day, and I'm wondering if he did something?
View 5 Replies View RelatedNew Droid X user here.New to Android as well.I see I have a universal inbox in the included Messenging app. This seems to show all of my IMAP e-mail accounts as well as Facebook, etc.However, Gmail seems to require its own app.Not sure I see the point of having a universal inbox if I can't include my Gmail account?Am I missing something?

and my text message inbox just completely deleted everything on its own i have the text message maximum limit to 999 and i use the stock messaging app and my phone is not rooted its a bit annoying when all the messages get deleted. does this happen to anyone else?
I have checked this multiple times to make sure I am not doing something wrong, but it keeps happening. If i leave my gmail on the inbox screen and go to the home screen of the phone, when i return to the gmail app a while later after I have received a new email, it takes me directly to a prior email message--not the newest message or my inbox, but to some other older message. This keeps happening no matter what I do. I am using two different gmail accounts, and even if I leave the gmail app from my secondary account--it still snaps back to my primary account and some old email after my phone has slept for a while. Does anyone have any idea what is happening?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this has been addressed before, but I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge as to how one would keep emails in the inbox? The catch is that they would have to stay there, not have to be reloaded (as if you were accessing the mailbox from the website on your computer) and wouldn't get pushed down the line and out of sight from your designated number of emails displayed at once in the list?
