Motorola Droid : App - Setting That Allow To View Rtf Files Received As Email Attachments?

Nov 13, 2009

I've searched and cannot find anything regarding rtf files and the Droid.

Can anyone help me by directing me towards and app or setting that will allow me to view rtf files received as email attachments?

I have Documents to Go full version but the phone won't even download the file.

Android :: Internal Files - Email Attachments

May 16, 2010

I was notified by one of my customers that she was unable to use the feature of my application where she is supposed to be able to send her data as an attached csv file to an email. When I run this on my emulator at home, it works. She reports that she's using the GMail client. I'm not clear on what that is. I'm using the standard way of attaching a file.

There are a couple of exceptions. I notice that other examples of attachments on the group use the SD Card to save the file before sending it. Because of the section on files in this article:

http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/data/data-storage.html

I chose to use the internal file storage. I do not anticipate the files my application produces ever exceeding 200 KB.

So, does writing the files to internal storage only work on some phones? Should that be mentioned in the above-referenced article? It seems kind of important, since everyone seems to be using external SD Cards and not the internal memory.

Here's my code.

Samsung Captivate :: Not Able To View Email Attachments

Jul 19, 2010

I just got the Captivate, and I am having difficulty viewing attachments (Low kb excel spreadsheets and word documents). The weird thing is, it let me open one excel sheet once as what looked like an html instead of excel, which is fine as long as I can see it, but this hasn't happened since and it wasn't any particular thing different that I did. What should I do? Is it a bug with my specific phone?

Motorola Droid :: Looking At Attachments In Email

Nov 10, 2009

I got my google mail working and my Exchange account for my email. When I first looked at my exchange account I was happy to see that I could open a PPT document. I thought great news! However last night ( 3 days later) I could not open a document for the life of me, it keeps stating "fetching from server". My email stays on the server so its not like that original email was deleted. My gmail account opens up the attachment just fine (did a test) so does anyone know why I cannot open an attachment in my Exchange email (corporate app)?

Motorola Droid X :: Way To Receive Large Email Attachments?

Sep 7, 2010

I have seen post about sending big email attachment, this one is about receiving. I have my Yahoo and Optonline (Cablevision ISP, pop/smtp server) email accounts linked up with DX. Whenever I get something into Yahoo account over 5MB it just gives me a link to download the attachment rather than displaying in inbox. I can live with that. But my Optonline email account just gives me a message "attachment exceeds the limit" and nothing I can do about it. Its very consistent with anything over 5MB. I'm wondering if there is a setting somewhere to increase the allowable incoming attachment size? Any idea?

Motorola Droid X :: Received Email Three Times Since Activation?

Jul 21, 2010

Ok, I have 2 accounts on my X - one is a Gmail that I rarely use, and the other is a hotmail account which is frequently used.

I'm coming from Black Berry and I kinda understand that the mail is delivered differently but ever since I set up my hotmail I've received 3 sets of the same messages, read or un-read. Now every time this has happened there has been 1 new unread message, so I assume its when my X syncs with the server. Is there something I can change, or should have done during setup? I'm using the stock email app.

Thank you in advance! this is really my only complaint so far with this nice phone and hope its my user error.

General :: View PC Files Over USB On Android Like When Using Windows To View Droid Files

Jun 29, 2013

My searches all bring back ways to transfer files using my Windows Explorer on my PC Interface via USB and on Android "Es file explorer" using wifi.

I use ES file Explorer to view shared folders on my PC via wifi. I want to do the same thing only faster through USB. Similar to how you connect the android to your pc and it shows the internal sd and external sd in windows explorer.

For example... I want to browse my vast collection of "Justin Bieber's Monkey confiscated by German customs for excessive spanking" pics on my pc to find one that looks good as my android wallpaper. I dont want to use wifi and cant load the 74GB of pics from my pc on my 8 GB SD card on my Android to go through them.

Motorola Droid :: Setting Up University Groupwise Email On Phone

Mar 24, 2010

I tried following the directions posted on my university's website and also contacted IT department but they haven't gotten back to me yet. Here are the directions I tried to follow:

GroupWise IMAP
Configure Your IMAP Client
Configure your IMAP client using these specifications:
imaps.luc.edu is your "Inbound Mail," "INBOX server" or "Incoming E-mail server"
993 is your "Port", for INBOX server Port," or "Incoming E-mail server Port"
SSL is your security setting.
mail.luc.edu is your "Outbound Mail," "SMTP gateway," or
"Outgoing E-mail server" if Loyola is your Internet provider (see note below)
your Loyola Computer ID is your username
the client should check for new e-mail every 10 (or more) minutes

Note: If you do not connect to the Internet through Loyola, your "Outbound Mail" or "Outgoing E-mail server" specification will NOT be mail.luc.edu. Check with your Internet service provider for the correct specification. The outgoing email settings must be incorrect. After fooling around, I managed to make it work so that I can read my university email with email app but responses to said emails will end up going through my gmail account. I want to be able to send outgoing messages through my university address as well. It should be possible seeing as my university is offering IMAP functionality, plus my girlfriend goes to the same school and her Blackberry is synced up with the email server perfectly.

I would have my Yahoo set up as well, but for some reason it says my account info is wrong. Anyway, I get 1 notification for each of the email systems in the phone. 1 seems to be through HTC or a widget or something, 1 is the gmail app or whatever it's called. I've only had this phone for 3 days, and I love it. If it's any help, I'd like to only use the htc one as the keyboard seems more responsive as far as the auto-correction goes, and the layout is more simple and easier for me to read.
