May 21, 2010When I get an MMS video I am unable to view/play the video. I had no issues on phones I have had in the past. I am stumped.

HTC Droid Eris :: Unable To Play Youtube Videos
Mar 2, 2010I figure maybe it's a Flash problem, but I can't seem to play ANY YouTube videos on my Eris. The error I always get is something about the video not being found. This is a new Eris, got it about 2 weeks ago so I am assuming it's got the most current ROM. Does anyone know how I can get YouTube to work while on the cellular network and not WiFi?

Aug 6, 2010I have had the droid x for a little over a week, my last phone was the eris. I have yet to be able to play any youtube videos on my phone, whether it be from the youtube widget, a browser window, or a facebook link. It just goes to loading video, and it never loads. Has anyone else had this problem?? I have tried it both with and without using wifi.

Oct 19, 2010i notice when i try to use my phone's "flash player capabilities" that it works like chit. for instance, it won't play videos streamed on justin.tv. and today i tried to go to kings of leon's website so i could listen to their new album from my phone (Kings of Leon | Come Around Sundown) but it failed to work again. i can see all the songs, click on the buttons, even track forward in the songs, but NO SOUND and the songs remain on pause and won't play. is there an update or some kind of APP i can install to where i can actually get some benefit from the flash player.

Is youtube seriously it? WTF!? No fox.com, NBC, adult swim, comedy central?
I had a Motorola flip phone that could play almost any video, including from the above sites. I thought I was upgrading when I bought the eris. Am I missing something?

Dec 26, 2009For instance: when I click on a video on cnn.com, the phone goes through the motions of downloading it and then I get a message: This content cannot play on this device.
When I go to the YouTube app and click on any video displayed, the message is Cannot play video. Sorry, this video cannot be played. The videos that I took with my phone and are stored on my SD are playing OK.

I tried e-mailing the video to myself, but when I try to download it from Gmail, it says "unable to fetch attachment" How can I send video to someone else? Is there a way to change the extension?

I'm trying to use a youtube downloader to download youtube videos to my laptop and then convert them to AVI files and drag and drop them to my SD card so that I can view them on my Droid. The problem is the files either don't show up on the card when I attempt to play them on the device if they are in AVI format or if I choose not to change the format only the audio is played by the phone so I can't see any video. Any suggestions? I know this is a possibility because a coworker has done this on a BB Tour. I had him Bluetooth transfer some files and those show and play but the ones I'm attempting to tranfer by dragging and dropping the the files aren't working.

Jan 3, 2010It seems, almost every video I want to see is unable to play with the youtube app. I'm not really a big youtuber as it is, but why have a youtube app on the phone if it can't play 99% of the videos? Although the browser works better, I do get the same result for some videos using the browser too. Is this part of the limitations with having Android 1.5 or what?

Aug 5, 2010I've used Handbrake as recommended in this helpful thread (Put Videos on Droid) to convert .avi files to .mp4. I got a "Sorry, this video cannot be played" when I try to play it on my Droid.I also tried downloading an .mp4 file from a YouTube video (as converted by file2hd.com). But I still get that error message.I know this topic has come up before and it usually seems to be the way that the file was converted rather than some kind of setting on the Droid. What else should I try?

I tried this in the YouTube app and the browser, but I got the same results. For this particular search, my Droid came up with 4 results, and my computer 20 results. I've also done google searches for particular videos, only to get a "video not compatible with YouTube mobile" (or something like that). Are these 2 issues related? Is my search on my Droid only finding mobile-compatible videos?
