i use hotmail.com as my email. i just go to the website and sign in. so when i get attachments i can click details but i cant download them?is there anyway to do this or not?

I set my gmail account with the email icon/app on my home screen.I did it with the POP/IMPAP option because the other one wouldn't work (don't know what either of those mean).My problem is I can't get it to download my emails by itself. I have to go in and refresh. I have set it to check every 5mins and to alert me but it just wont unless I refresh. I'm assuming there's somthing I'm missing.Also, I just discovered there's a gmail app in that list that gets the emails instantly. It will make a sound with a new email, but I have to go to that list then to the gmail app to check.What I want is to be notified of my emails and have some icon be it the email one or the gmail one on my home page that lets me know I have an email.The other thing is the youtube app, but its seems lots of people are having that trouble.Also, how do I sync access my gmail contacts on my phone on either the gmail app or the email app. I can't see contacts on either right now.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI got my google mail working and my Exchange account for my email.When I first looked at my exchange account I was happy to see that I could open a PPT document. I thought great news! However last night ( 3 days later) I could not open a document for the life of me, it keeps stating "fetching from server". My email stays on the server so its not like that original email was deleted. My gmail account opens up the attachment just fine (did a test) so does anyone know why I cannot open an attachment in my Exchange email (corporate app)?

Please try again."Ive tried numerous emails in my yahoo account with pics and it crashes it every time. No idea why. When i open an image in my gmail account using the gmail app its saves fine.

I have my Yahoo and Optonline (Cablevision ISP, pop/smtp server) email accounts linked up with DX. Whenever I get something into Yahoo account over 5MB it just gives me a link to download the attachment rather than displaying in inbox. I can live with that. But my Optonline email account just gives me a message "attachment exceeds the limit" and nothing I can do about it. Its very consistent with anything over 5MB. I'm wondering if there is a setting somewhere to increase the allowable incoming attachment size? Any idea?

If I tap on the folders, the inbox shows that there are the correct number of emails sitting in my inbox on the comcast server, but they never download to the droid.I've tried removing the account and adding it back, same issue. It never gets past loading messages.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI returned my Droid some time ago because I could not forward customer blueprints and inquiries on ot my plants. The files were imp. tif. jpg. excel and word. I was told by Verizon that the phone might do it after some further updates. What is the real deal here. Will 2.1 fix this? I went back to my 2 year blackberry becaue the email was far more reliable and I could forward whatever came in with the emails I got. Is Android not ready for the business market yet, or have things changed since the Droid intro.

I can see that an email has an attachment, but when i click to download, the process begins then always ends with the message 'Not implemented". This happens will all file types.
