Ive been looking everywhere and still cant seem to do it but manually, but is there any program possible that I can sync Playlists from say iTunes that are in m3u format and it will show up as a playlist on my Droid? The only way that i found possible is by making the playlist each time i add a song to it and loading it to the Droid, which is a pain. And Songbird doesnt really support the Droid yet.

I'm having issues syncing playlists from my computer to my phone.
Here's my issue;
Basically when i sync playlists from my PC to my phone, it saves the playlists on my phone as .PLA format.
Now the only player that actually reads those playlists is my stock player.
I have tried several android players, but non of them will recognize the playlists.
On my PC for syncing i have tried
-WMP
-Winamp
-MediaMonkey
-DoubleTwist
All of these create playlists in PLA format on my device when transferring them, which wouldnt be a problem if i wanted to use the stock player.
As for android apps/media players i have tried:
-Cubed
-Winamp
-Mort Player
-Media PlayerPro
-Mixzing
-Astro Player
When i create a playlist using any of the apps on my phone, every other app is capable of reading them.
However, the playlist file can not be found on my phone, or my SD card. so i have no clue what format they are saved to, or where they are saved too.
I'm basically looking for a way to transfer my playlists from my computer to my android phone, and have the other apps actually read the playlists. The phone im using is the Samsung Galaxy S.
What is the best way to sync iTunes music? I've been using DoubleTwist but it is just not working these days (especially after ICS update). I sync it and sync it and Playlists never appear. So I need something else. I'm mostly concerned about a Smart Playlist I have for podcasts, which would not sync with Google Play. So frustrating dealing with Doubletwist. I have Droid Bionic.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use Windows Media Player to manage all my mp3s and playlists. I want my Samsung Galaxy S to be synchronized with my PC. I can connect my Galaxy S using "Media Player" mode and use the built-in sync with WMP, but there are issues:
1) Some mp3s get "corrupted" - how do I force WMP to "re-sync" them without losing my playlist association (if I manually add it as a file to sync, it is no longer associated with the playlist)
2) If I delete an mp3 from the device, WMP doesn't realize and won't re-sync the file again... is there a way to re-sync?
3) Sometimes WMP will re-sync playlists and each song shows up 3-4+ times when I load up a playlist on my device. I then have to wipe the Music and Playlist folder and re-sync from scratch any way around this?
4) Where are android playlists stored? The Playlists folder on the sd card can be wiped, but the playlists still show up in the music player?
5) If I make a change to a playlist on my PC, WMP will freeze and start skipping random files the playlists get corrupt and I see problem #3 occur. Essentially, if I change a playlist, I have to wipe the Music and Playlist folder and re-sync from scratch.
Having a problem with MML. It works great with syncing all my music from my Itunes. But, I can't figure out why it syncs on its own and duplicates my playlists. In addition, the playlists are blank/empty no music on them. I use the Droid X stock player and have to manually delete all the empty playlists. This is getting to me. What can I do?

What I want is a way to make playlists for my music from the computer instead of the tedious methods available on the handset. To clarify: by "playlist" I do not mean that I want to set up a specific group of music to sync instead of syncing all my music every time. I mean playlist in the same way the word is used in the built in Android media player. If it makes a difference my device is the Droid.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am seriously considering getting the new Droid X and giving my old iPod Touch to my wife. On the iPod, I make use of Smart Playlists that use an one criteria: Plays = 0. When a song or audio book is played, it disappears from the Playlist.
Will I be able to do this with Android? I have read about DoubleTwist as a program that will allow me to sync from iTunes, so it might accomplish this (can't test it, since I don't have the Droid yet). I am not locked in to iTunes, so if there is a Mac program that would sync better, I could move my audio material over there.
I'm having a really irritating problem with my Hero (running Android 2.1 / villainRom9.0.0)
When I sync playlists to the device using any app (SongBird, DoubleTwist, JRiver Jukebox, etc) It has no problem adding and playing the music, finding the new MP3s etc. However, all the old playlists remain on the device long after being deleted. This is very annoying, and makes it practically impossible to use as I could have 3-4 different versions of a playlist and only one works. I can manually delete all these old playlists but it takes time, and I want it to update automatically.
Things I've tried:
SDRescan: No effect.
MusicScanner: Locks up, no effect
using AndExplorer/LindaFilemanager to do an SD card refresh : No effect
Writing my own APK to run
sendBroadcast(new Intent(Intent.ACTION_MEDIA_MOUNTED, Uri.parse("file://" + Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory())));
... No Effect.
Turning off the phone and rebooting: No effect.
I'm going a little crazy here, I've tried everything sane and reasonable and nothing is working. All I can find online are instances where SDrescan worked for people or they did a factory reset.
I have a list of items that are displayed using a ListView from a SQLCursor. The SQL table includes(as well as other things) a _id field and an order field. I use the order field to sort the list before it gets to the ListView. What I need is a widget like the MediaPlayer has in its playlist view. It allows you to click the icon and drag the item in the playlist around and put it into a new order. With that ability I can then retrieve the new order and update the SQL table with the new order. However, I am not having any luck finding any clues to help me add that functionality into my program. The question is whether I can use existing functions to help me, or do I need to manually program motion events and such until I get nearly the same functionality.

I made 3 playlists using doubleTwist and put them on my phone and when I rebooted my phone yesterday my phone had created several other playlists on it's own each with no more than 3 or 4 songs in it. Anyone else noticed anything similar to this at any point?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOne of the few major drawbacks of android is the only application which syncs music with my phone well is doubleTwist, and that's still pretty buggy. is google ever going to get around to having an answer itunes/zune software? even for someone who doesnt mind doing heavy tinkering with the phone/is a geek like myself its annoying that such a mundane process still doesn't have a simple, elegant solution

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue with my M3U playlists.
I use the default Samsung media player, Isyncr and Itunes. Although I have also used the Doubletwist Player (not the desktop software) and had the same issue, I just prefer the Samsung default player mainly because of the lock screen app.
Here is the issue.
First, I sync my playlists with Itunes using Isyncr, all of the songs come over great, art and tags, everything is perfect. It also creates M3U playlists on my phone. I double checked that everything is there.
Then when I unmount, media scanner scans my SD card (which takes way longer than it should) and it deletes all of my playlists. Now a little research on XDA forums tells me that this is because anytime the media scanner scans a playlist and can't find all of the songs from that playlist, it assumes it is an old playlist and deletes it. The problem is that when I look through the M3U files, every song referenced in the list is on the card...they are all there, yet it keeps deleting them.
Does anyone know of a solution to make it stop deleting my playlists?
I'm having A LOT of trouble finding an application that will let me sync my music to my new Evo 4G (I just got it 2 days ago and I'm in love with it). I would like to drop iTunes all together and just move to something else but if I can't that will be okay. So and Android guys wanna help me out? I have about 2,000 out of 14,000 I wanna move to my beautiful new baby.I've been using the iPhone for 3 years now and I've finally been released from their death grip. View 8 Replies View RelatedI got my HTC Hero on three UK network a week ago and I love it!!! Anyway I have pretty much sorted it all out but have a slight problem when it comes to music. I currently have 5 gigs worth of songs I would like to transfer but only a 2 gig memory card. Using WMP11 I converted them to 64kbps and synced perfectly but then I realised that WMP had converted my mp3s to WMAs. For the first few minutes it would work fine on the hero but then it would suddenly stop and no more music would play. I also noticed that the temperature would usually jump from 27.1 to 44.2 while the music was playing. All in all my question is.... are there any free programs that will convert mp3s to lower bitrates which are still mp3 format and sync them to my HTC hero?
View 12 Replies View RelatedUp until now I wasn't having any luck syncing my Incredible with Windows Media Player 12. I ended up renaming my folder structure and it made WMP12 see the Incredible's media. By default, the Incredible makes a folder on the internal 8GB drive called MP3. Originally I put all my music in this folder. But when it was in there, WMP12 could not see it. I ended up creating the following folder structure, and it now syncs correctly. I think the main thing is to have a folder named 'music', not 'MP3'.Now my next step is to try and figure out how to sync my home computers music from any Windows 7 / WMP12 computer. I would like to plug my Incredible into my Windows 7 computer at work, and sync my home computers media data. I read that you can stream music from your home computer this way (WMP12 feature), so I am assuming there may be a way to sync it too. I'll let you know what I find. Let me know if you find out first.

Im huge on the smart playlists, especially having my top 50 most listened to. It bothers me if I listen to a song a ton, and it doesn't climb up in the rankings.
I saw on some site that maybe using TuneWiki (which is what I already use), then linking to last.fm might enable to do this. But how? I saw something about a scrobbler that would help, but I don't get what I would do. Put a scrobbler app on the comp as last.fm is offering, or find a scrobbler app for my phone in order to sync that with itunes?
I keep all my music on my PC in MP3 format at 320kbps. I prefer 192kbps on my phone as I'm not too concerned about quality on the move and I can fit more music on that way. I don't want to keep 2 versions of each album as I have loads and that's not really practical. At the moment I sync using WMP12 as it allows you to re-encode to a lower bitrate as it syncs but the only problem is that it re-encodes to WMA format. I don't really have a problem with that as it's only going on my phone but with Froyo there's a bug that means the phone can no longer read the artist tag of WMA files. Since Froyo has now been out for months and there's no word about the bug from Google it appears there's no chance of it getting fixed (a cunning ploy to stop people using WMA seems the most likely explanation I guess) So can anyone recommend a piece of software I can use for Windows that will re-encode to a lower MP3 bitrate as I sync? Does such a thing exist?

They show up fine under Artists, Albums, Songs and Playlists. However, there are a bunch of other entries in my playlist menu, some of them 2 or 3 times. They are probably from past attempts. How do I get rid of them ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've tried several different methods for getting one of my iTunes playlists moved to the Eris but I'm having a difficult time. I finally just dragged and dropped a bunch of music over but how do I organize that into a playlist? Do I have to do it from the Eris itself (which involves adding every single song, one by one)? I have tried mounting the SD card and creating a playlist folder under the main music folder but that doesn't seem to work. The playlist is already created on the Eris and I moved a few songs over for testing, but when the card is mounted to the PC I can't find how the playlist is stored.....am I making any sense? Sure hope so.

So I deleted all the files off media card and I am now using Salling, which is way better. But now when I go to Music I have Double Playlist one with music and one empty. I have gone through the sd card and don't see anything in there or any reference to Double Twist, any ideas how to delete these empty playlists?
