One of the few major drawbacks of android is the only application which syncs music with my phone well is doubleTwist, and that's still pretty buggy. is google ever going to get around to having an answer itunes/zune software? even for someone who doesnt mind doing heavy tinkering with the phone/is a geek like myself its annoying that such a mundane process still doesn't have a simple, elegant solution

I recently bought some gameloft games for my droid incredible but i noticed all the sounds of music of the games are showing up on my media players. Is there any fix for this issue?

I would like to drop iTunes all together and just move to something else but if I can't that will be okay. So and Android guys wanna help me out? I have about 2,000 out of 14,000 I wanna move to my beautiful new baby.I've been using the iPhone for 3 years now and I've finally been released from their death grip. I have NO regrets what so ever about switching to Android ESPECIALLY with the Evo & Sprint (4G Coverage in D.C.).

View 8 Replies View RelatedIve been looking everywhere and still cant seem to do it but manually, but is there any program possible that I can sync Playlists from say iTunes that are in m3u format and it will show up as a playlist on my Droid? The only way that i found possible is by making the playlist each time i add a song to it and loading it to the Droid, which is a pain. And Songbird doesnt really support the Droid yet.

Now normally I would just figure out how to do this on my own but since this is something I'm only doing because Google dropped the ball and may soon rectify,I would really appreciate it if some one would provide me with code to do the following.
1. Make an HTTP connection to a server and dowload a .zip file to the SD card. 2. Then unzip the file to a directory on the SD card. 3. Finally delete the .zip file.
Has anyone done this before? What are the gotchas? I'm sure doing this comes at a cost, such as having to insure the graphics have been downloaded, failed downloads, and if you have a future update you have to manage updating the graphics yourself, am I missing anything?
I got my HTC Hero on three UK network a week ago and I love it!!! Anyway I have pretty much sorted it all out but have a slight problem when it comes to music. I currently have 5 gigs worth of songs I would like to transfer but only a 2 gig memory card. Using WMP11 I converted them to 64kbps and synced perfectly but then I realised that WMP had converted my mp3s to WMAs. For the first few minutes it would work fine on the hero but then it would suddenly stop and no more music would play. I also noticed that the temperature would usually jump from 27.1 to 44.2 while the music was playing. All in all my question is.... are there any free programs that will convert mp3s to lower bitrates which are still mp3 format and sync them to my HTC hero?
View 12 Replies View RelatedUp until now I wasn't having any luck syncing my Incredible with Windows Media Player 12. I ended up renaming my folder structure and it made WMP12 see the Incredible's media. By default, the Incredible makes a folder on the internal 8GB drive called MP3. Originally I put all my music in this folder. But when it was in there, WMP12 could not see it. I ended up creating the following folder structure, and it now syncs correctly. I think the main thing is to have a folder named 'music', not 'MP3'.Now my next step is to try and figure out how to sync my home computers music from any Windows 7 / WMP12 computer. I would like to plug my Incredible into my Windows 7 computer at work, and sync my home computers media data. I read that you can stream music from your home computer this way (WMP12 feature), so I am assuming there may be a way to sync it too. I'll let you know what I find. Let me know if you find out first.

Here's my issue;
Basically when i sync playlists from my PC to my phone, it saves the playlists on my phone as .PLA format.
Now the only player that actually reads those playlists is my stock player.
I have tried several android players, but non of them will recognize the playlists.
On my PC for syncing i have tried
-WMP
-Winamp
-MediaMonkey
-DoubleTwist
All of these create playlists in PLA format on my device when transferring them, which wouldnt be a problem if i wanted to use the stock player.
As for android apps/media players i have tried:
-Cubed
-Winamp
-Mort Player
-Media PlayerPro
-Mixzing
-Astro Player
When i create a playlist using any of the apps on my phone, every other app is capable of reading them.
However, the playlist file can not be found on my phone, or my SD card. so i have no clue what format they are saved to, or where they are saved too.
I'm basically looking for a way to transfer my playlists from my computer to my android phone, and have the other apps actually read the playlists. The phone im using is the Samsung Galaxy S.
I was wondering if there was a way to sync back information about how many times you listened to a song, to itunes on my computer. Im huge on the smart playlists, especially having my top 50 most listened to. It bothers me if I listen to a song a ton, and it doesn't climb up in the rankings.
I saw on some site that maybe using TuneWiki (which is what I already use), then linking to last.fm might enable to do this. But how? I saw something about a scrobbler that would help, but I don't get what I would do. Put a scrobbler app on the comp as last.fm is offering, or find a scrobbler app for my phone in order to sync that with itunes?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI keep all my music on my PC in MP3 format at 320kbps. I prefer 192kbps on my phone as I'm not too concerned about quality on the move and I can fit more music on that way. I don't want to keep 2 versions of each album as I have loads and that's not really practical. At the moment I sync using WMP12 as it allows you to re-encode to a lower bitrate as it syncs but the only problem is that it re-encodes to WMA format. I don't really have a problem with that as it's only going on my phone but with Froyo there's a bug that means the phone can no longer read the artist tag of WMA files. Since Froyo has now been out for months and there's no word about the bug from Google it appears there's no chance of it getting fixed (a cunning ploy to stop people using WMA seems the most likely explanation I guess) So can anyone recommend a piece of software I can use for Windows that will re-encode to a lower MP3 bitrate as I sync? Does such a thing exist?

For example, if you're using Moboplayer to view the pics and vids you've shot with your camera, and you have a game like Dragon's Lair that has hundreds of mini 3 mB vid clips on your device to play the game, when I try to view my personal videos, I have to filter through the 800 some odd game vid clips just to look at my home videos. To add insult to injury, if you use a backup like Verizon that backs up only your newest movies and pics, it also downloads these hundreds of vid clips as well as photos of the uniforms on a game like Home Run Battle.

The Bluetooth media button registration code works fine on the other Android phones that I have tested. Apparently this isn't the first time HTC has done something like this, as I also found a report of a similar problem on one of the HTC Microsoft Mobile Devices reported here
It seems extremely short sighted of HTC to code their media player so that it grabs the Bluetooth AVRCP media button events in such a way that other applications are unable to work with the Bluetooth head phone buttons and Bluetooth in car stereo systems.................
How do I get my custom ringtones from rooted media folder to show up in selection menus?
I am rooted and have successfully copied .ogg .wav or .mp3 ringtones to system/media/audio/ringtones, notifications or alarms folders. I can even play them from those folders on press.
My hassle is I am not able to select these as my tones. They don't show up in the menus. I want them in the root because if I am connected to my pc and an email/text/call comes in that is assigned a Custom tone on sd, then my tones revert back to a default tone and I have to reset them all when i disconnect from pc
I use Windows Media Player to manage all my mp3s and playlists. I want my Samsung Galaxy S to be synchronized with my PC. I can connect my Galaxy S using "Media Player" mode and use the built-in sync with WMP, but there are issues:
1) Some mp3s get "corrupted" - how do I force WMP to "re-sync" them without losing my playlist association (if I manually add it as a file to sync, it is no longer associated with the playlist)
2) If I delete an mp3 from the device, WMP doesn't realize and won't re-sync the file again... is there a way to re-sync?
3) Sometimes WMP will re-sync playlists and each song shows up 3-4+ times when I load up a playlist on my device. I then have to wipe the Music and Playlist folder and re-sync from scratch any way around this?
4) Where are android playlists stored? The Playlists folder on the sd card can be wiped, but the playlists still show up in the music player?
5) If I make a change to a playlist on my PC, WMP will freeze and start skipping random files the playlists get corrupt and I see problem #3 occur. Essentially, if I change a playlist, I have to wipe the Music and Playlist folder and re-sync from scratch.
Is anyone using the Motorola Media Manager (or Media Link) to sync their itunes with the X? I downloaded the software but it keeps crashing. I've seen a few people refer to it but haven't seen much about it working or being used. I did find an app called iSyncr for PC that seems to have some good comments though.
View 11 Replies View RelatedAlmost a year ago I purchased the HT820 Motorolla headset so I could pair a bluetooth phone and mp3 player to the same headset. It worked fantastic. Now that I finally have my hands on the Google phone, I was hoping to dual pair the headset to the phone for both media and the phone.
I don't know if I am doing something wrong during the pairing procedure, but it will not play media through the headset, except in the second before dialing a contact or just after I hang up. Whatever music is playing, comes out of the speakers, but like I said if a call comes in, I hear the music through the headset until I answer, and then it pauses like it should, then plays again after I hang up but it switches back to the external speaker almost immediately.
It works fine for the phone, and in the Bluetooth list of devices, it shows as connected.
Does anyone know where to find a media player that would allow you to play streaming videos on Android Browser?

I want to be able to use/view the video's I record with my phone on my computer. (open from an email or use in window's movie maker)I have a new computer with Windows seven at work and a Vista laptop at home. I can send the video to myself and try to open in from my email or tether to the computer and transfer the file manually. Either way I can't open with windows media player. Video's taken with default "Camcorder" app on a myTough 3G running Android 1.6.I know it has something to do with the codec's the phone uses but wonder why they wouldn't use codec's that are compatible with the most commonly used pc's?Is there any way around this? Some kind of converter for the computer or for the phone?Is there another camcorder app that can record video with a different codec or is it phone hardware specific?So far have been able to use these forum's to sort out most of my Android problems but I'm stumped on this one. View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed that you can't adjust media volume without first playing media. Like you have to, for example, press the play button before pressing rocker volume in order to adjust media volume or else you'll just be adjusting ringer volume. This is unfortunate since games also use media volume. So if you wonna start up a quick game in a quiet setting, your in trouble if you were listening music before and never turned down/off the media volume. Unless I'm missing something and there is in fact a way to do it?

Now that I have an Android phone, it'd be great if I could get a quality pair of asymmetrical cord earbuds with a media button. I bought the Sennheiser MM50 iP which looked like clones of the CX300 with a media button, but just like the reviews said, they broke within months (cable shorts out at the jack). I'm sending them back for warranty repair, but it'll only be a matter of time before they break again (which is strange because my CX300s are practically bulletproof). Anyone have recommendations for in-ear earbuds with a media button and asymmetrical cord?

The problem I'm having is that the media player on the HTC desire doesn't work nearly as well as iTunes. I have several issues that would needed to be resolved and wanted to know if anyone had a solution to any of them
1) Audio books, I have many of these on my iTunes and on an iPod they are displayed in a separate folder and are removed from shuffles, not so on the HTC, solution?
2) Podcasts, Again i subscribe to many podcasts on my iTunes and wanted to know if there was any way of adding them to my HTC automatically or having them download automatically (Despite this being very annoying and clogging up my hard drive with duplicated podcasts)
3)Playlists I am currently using iTunes agent to sync from my iTunes but it means that I cannot sync playlists that i can then play on my phone. (I can sync playlists just not then play them on their own once they are on my phone)
