common question this one, but i have had a search but no luck i;m afraid. Using Media Monkey to sync to my SGS, but the stock player doesn;t seem to recognise playlists, or the difference between podcasts and otehr tracks. I have searched high and low with no answer to this. I like the stock music player on the Galaxy S and want to use it but my playlists do not show up in the playlist tab. I do not want to re-create my playlists on the phone. I have used mixzing which is great and shows my playlists imported using salling media sync or ones added to the /playlist directory but I am happy with the stock player, but I can not find where or how it reads playlists or if it is some special format? I guess there is a way around it by viewing the recently added playlist and just create a playlist from there, but any help with this would be great.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI spent quite some time de-deduping my PC's music library using Media Monkey and going through all albums to grab info from Amazon. Then I connect my phone and got MM to recognize the G: drive. Then I synced all my music and discovered some issues while trying to play the music using cubed (aka 3):
(a) album art was not showing up. I had previously used cubed to grab art, then cleared the cache before uploading my music. After upload, no art is showing in cubed app
(b) the music on my sd card was stored directly to the G: drive instead of the music folder. How do I get MM to sync directly to the music folder?
I have the Motorola Droid and am using the stock music player. I was looking for alittle help finding something better to use...am sure alot of you are using something much better.

I made 3 playlists using doubleTwist and put them on my phone and when I rebooted my phone yesterday my phone had created several other playlists on it's own each with no more than 3 or 4 songs in it. I have one called Music and one called Playlists, but you can do this however you want. Now launch MediaMonkey, and make sure it shows your phones memory card in the left sidebar (separately from the MyComputer option) In MediaMonkey, click on Tools up top, then choose Options and go down to Portable/Audio Devices Uncheck *all* of the plug-ins except d_USBMass1.dll Highlight d_USBMass1.dll and click on the Configure button to the right Choose the Device Configuration tab in the dialog box that popped up In the middle of this tab, youll see a box called Device Name, which is where youll type the name of your phone (mine is NexusOne)Below this, choose the appropriate drive letter from the drop-down Below this, enter a Drive Label (again, mine is NexusOne)Leave the USB Device ID box empty and dont click the Find Device button While you have this dialog box open, you can tinker with the other tabs, if you want. This is where you can specify a folder hierarchy and adjust your sync settings. I would recommend creating a small playlist (~15-20 tracks from various artists/genres/albums) to test with you dont want to do a full sync only to realize you dont like your sync settings. This guide is better because it allows for the use of smart playlists and has much fewer steps than if you use winamp.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use Windows Media Player to manage all my mp3s and playlists. I want my Samsung Galaxy S to be synchronized with my PC. I can connect my Galaxy S using "Media Player" mode and use the built-in sync with WMP, but there are issues:
1) Some mp3s get "corrupted" - how do I force WMP to "re-sync" them without losing my playlist association (if I manually add it as a file to sync, it is no longer associated with the playlist)
2) If I delete an mp3 from the device, WMP doesn't realize and won't re-sync the file again... is there a way to re-sync?
3) Sometimes WMP will re-sync playlists and each song shows up 3-4+ times when I load up a playlist on my device. I then have to wipe the Music and Playlist folder and re-sync from scratch any way around this?
4) Where are android playlists stored? The Playlists folder on the sd card can be wiped, but the playlists still show up in the music player?
5) If I make a change to a playlist on my PC, WMP will freeze and start skipping random files the playlists get corrupt and I see problem #3 occur. Essentially, if I change a playlist, I have to wipe the Music and Playlist folder and re-sync from scratch.
Is there anyway to stop the stock music player on my HTC Hero from playing songs? I have a bluetooth headset and whenever I use the controls on the headset it activates the stock music player instead of the one I downloaded.

I like the stock music player (although i have the incredible, so it is the sense music player), i like all the features it has (delete songs, playlists, full lock screen support, etc.
The only thing i don't like its that its way slow when going to the list (either artist, all songs, genre). I have over 2500 songs so i know this is the reason, but im just hoping that once we get the upgrade the speed will be more acceptable.
Other than that does anyone know of a third party app that has lockscreen art, and all the basic functionality of the stock music player but performs faster when viewing the list? I've tried all I could find, mixzing, doubletwist, museek, cubed, astro media player, vanilla music player, meridian, btunes, and some other ones I can't remember now but they all have something missing from the stock media player.
I have a list of items that are displayed using a ListView from a SQLCursor. The SQL table includes(as well as other things) a _id field and an order field. I use the order field to sort the list before it gets to the ListView. What I need is a widget like the MediaPlayer has in its playlist view. It allows you to click the icon and drag the item in the playlist around and put it into a new order. With that ability I can then retrieve the new order and update the SQL table with the new order. However, I am not having any luck finding any clues to help me add that functionality into my program. The question is whether I can use existing functions to help me, or do I need to manually program motion events and such until I get nearly the same functionality.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI have learned to hate the stock music player on the Behold II as it doesn't recognize barely any of my music where the stock players and the HTC player work just fine (read tags properly and display album art).
This is killing (well annoying me) having to carry both my iPod and my phone when my phone should be able to do what it was advertised to do instead of giving me a huge list of "Unknown Artist and Unknown Album".
Any solutions outside of flashing a custom rom? (not possible for me as I have a G4 Mac and no access to Windows to run the ODIN flasher).

View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to use the stock music player on the Captivate because it has music controls on the lockscreen. The problem is the stock music player on the Captivate doesn't recognize playlist (m3u) files. DoubleTwist works well with playlists but it doesn't have lockscreen controls. Kies doesn't sync playlists. You can make a playlist on Kies but when you try to sync to the phone it just copies the music files over without the playlists. I either need a way to import playlists to the stock music player or find a music player that has lockscreen controls (preferably free).

I like the stock big buttons and text especially in the car, and like the stock notification bar controls. Just looking for a good reason to upgrade if there is one. If the stock EQ was easier to get to quickly maybe I wouldn't even consider anything else. What do you think?
View 9 Replies View RelatedUnless I am entirely missing something (which is certainly possible), I can't seem to easily create a playlist based on all music in a *folder* using the stock music player. I have to select each song one-by-one out of a list of all my songs on the phone, which is tedious and time-consuming. If I'm missing it, please let me know. In the meantime, I downloaded a very basic player called "Player." It does allow you to create playlists based on all music in a folder.
When you navigate to a music folder and select some or all of the music in the folder to play, "Player" creates a temporary playlist with all of the music selected. NOTE: A message pops up saying ONE song has been added to the playlist, but this is incorrect (unless you've only selected one to play). If you've chosen multiple or all of the songs in the folder to play, it actually creates the playlist with all the selected songs in it. Since the playlist created is a temporary playlist, so you must go into the "playlist" area to rename it to what you want. If you don't, then the next time you select a folder to play music from, it will likely overwrite the first temporary playlist with the new one.
It's actually very, very easy (much easier than scrolling through to select each song). The playlists created by "Player" automatically show up in the stock music player as well and can be played there. One negative to "Player" is that it appears to display the wrong album art. If that's a big deal, then simply revert to the stock player and run your playlists from there. I realize there are other music apps in the markets, so this wouldn't apply if you prefer one of those, obviously.
Is there any Music player apps in the market i can download to replace the default music player on the Samsung Vibrant?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having issues with the music player, the music was crackling badly, I thought it was the headphones so I tried 3 different pairs and the same thing happened, it kept stuttering in the middle of songs. I am not at all happy about that. My mp3 player worked perfectly with the same music files, they are WMP files not mp3 because to me mp3 sounds compressed to shit. I said to because the sound quality blows away any mp3 player and when it isn't stalling and breaking up. I am considering flashing with Odin today and swapping it for number 3. I have not spilled anything on my phone or dropped it, I am so careful with it and I am curious if anyone else has this problem or does mine have a defect. I love this phone and really want to stick with it. I would like to use it for music because the sound when working is amazing. If it is a defect in my phone I will swap for another.

1) The stock Music Player will not recognize my imported playlists. Every other player I've installed sees them just fine. I don't know what I'm doing wrong with the stock player (I sync with Songbird).
2) Unfortunately, all of the other music players I've tried will play choppy for the first few seconds of every song (TuneWiki, Meridian, MixZing, doubleTwist). The stock player does not have this problem for me.
MixZing: Pro Lock Screen widget, recognizes my playlists. Con Plays choppy Stock Player: Pro Lock Screen widget, plays perfect. Con Doesn't recognize playlists.Anyone who can help solve the Con on either MixZing or the stock player?
Is there a better video player application which is free in the android market? The thing i dont like about the stock video player is that it doesnt sort my movies and videos. For example, i made folders for my series and my movies. after it scans for media, it shows ALL my videos in bulk... not grouped by types. I used the gallery application and the Gallery app does a better job...but is there a free application that sorts out movies as as good as itunes for the iphone?btw, this is not a major issue and it is less than a minor inconvenience Im still very much happy with my phone
View 5 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the free version of Media Monkey on Wendsday to sync songs to my 32g memory card. I had over 2000 songs with missing artwork and tags to begin with. It took me over 2 days to get all the artwork/tags with the built in search on MM. I finished with the library last night andd this morning I plugged the card into my computer (didnt sync phone). MM found the card right away without changing any settings. Took almost 2 hours to transfer just over 4000 songs. When it was done, I mounted the card on the phone. Took awhile to scan. Went to music player and all the songs were there (thank god). And to boot, all the artwork was there also. So if you need a good sync program comparable to itunes, use MediaMonkey Download.
